From the beginning John has been one of the best customer service representatives we have dealt with. We needed a new lift emergency phone line for our business and his advice, communication and commitment to ensuring everything runs smoothly for us has been invaluable.

Customer Service

We had on going teething trouble switching over to the new digital router but John in customer service was excellent, and did everything he could to get the issue resolved. He was very conscientious and patient, even offering to check emails over the weekend for updates. I'm happy to report that we now have a working phone!

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CANCELLED.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t met expectations. As a small team supporting a large number of customers moving to digital lines before the December deadline, we’ve had to prioritise fault reports, which can impact how quickly we respond to general enquiries.

That said, we did respond to your query via email with the information you requested. Unfortunately, the message bounced back as your mailbox appears to be full. We also remotely checked your router at the time and confirmed it was online and functioning correctly—this was also included in our original email.

When our lines are busy, all messages are taken by our answering service and passed directly to our team. This system helps us minimise long wait times for everyone.

You mentioned it might be time to look elsewhere, and while we’d be sorry to see you go, of course you're free to choose the provider that best suits your needs.

Really helpful staff who went above and beyond what I expected to enable me to set up my mother in laws phone service and help me to iron out all the niggles and snags that arose from upgrading her service to new technology (not an area where I am at my most useful!)

The Home2Phone router is designed to be simple to install, it just needs to be plugged into a power socket with your telephone connected.

Better change management needed for old people

Evan was great and he helped me where he could but this service was for a 95yo I made it very clear that I needed to know when the current service would stop working so I could manage mum through the change but I was not told and then suddenly nobody could get hold of her. This was bloody crap to put it mildly.
If you are going to do tech things for old people it needs to be managed much better.

Apologies for Lack of Porting Notification

Thank you for your understanding.

We've looked into why you weren’t informed about the porting date, and it appears that Openreach did not notify us in advance, they went ahead and ported the number without the usual communication.

Typically, their system automatically provides us with a port date. If we don’t receive this within 10 working days, we follow up with them. However, in this case, it seems the number was ported before that 10-day window, so we were unaware it had already taken place.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Cannot fault the dedication to customers that Simple Telecommunications provides.

Good company, a glitch this time

Transition of numbers took over a week, albeit it seems not the fault directly of Simple Telecoms. However they should have checked service was up and running, rather than taking their supplier's word for it.
On the other hand they have always been very accessible and professional in their approach so I would still recommend them.

We do our best to monitor porting progress where possible, but with hundreds of ports going live each day, it's not always feasible to check each one in detail.

Normally, when we receive a completion message from the new mobile provider, it indicates that the port has been successful.

In your case, as you now know, the issue stemmed from the losing provider having a PUK error. This caused the port to only partially complete, allowing outbound calls but blocking inbound ones. It took a few days of investigation between ourselves and EE before the root cause was identified. Once confirmed, the losing provider corrected the PUK code and the issue was resolved.

We genuinely appreciate your patience and understanding while we worked through this. This was the first time we've encountered a PUK code fault during a number port, and it has certainly been a valuable learning experience for us.

Needed to sort out a new landline for an elderly neighbour.
Very good experience from start to finish.
Staff very helpful. Also a good price too.
Would highly recommend.

Easy switch

Really easy to switch from original provider. Good and clear communication from the company in terms of what you have ordered and what/when things will happen. My dad could keep his original number which was important to him. Thank you for a smooth switch.

EXCELLENT SERVICE

From my first telephone conversation with Nicola with everything thing explained in easy to understand terms no confusing tecnical jargon to emails from Tony explaing when the phone would be working with both the mobile and the transferred landline number. I would recommend this for elderly people.

Excellent after sales service.

I purchased a plan for my 93 year old mother who was using a copper wire old type system. Most other companies insisted on her paying for broadband as well, she doesn't have a computer or smart phone and it would appear that these companies are taking advantage of the vulnerable elderly. But this company, Simple Tel. did a phone only deal for the elderly.
We had a little problem with the first router and contacted them. TONY our contact at Simple Tel. was brilliant and a credit to his company. He sorted the problem out keeping me updated as the process progressed and explained everything in a very professional way using simple terms that even a techno moron like me can understand. The system is now functioning well and my mother is back in communication. Well done Tony and Simple Telecommunications.
