Meals with a twist

I’ve had a positive experience with Simmer Eats. The meals are tasty, convenient, and arrive well packaged. It’s made eating healthier much easier on busy days. What i have also found is that there is a lot of variation between the meals each week as they often update their menu which is refreshing.I’d definitely recommend Simmer to anyone looking for high-quality ready meals with a twist.

Don't bother

After receiving 2 delivery's, I decided to cancel the subscription. Although the meals were in general, tasty, the portion sizes were quite small.
Having cancelled in my account, they have continously tried to debit my account, even after repeated emails stating same.
In the communication, they say they cannot locate my account with the information provided. I find that strange given that they can still email me and obviously have my bank details on account.
Giving my experience, I would suggest staying well clear.

Excellent Service

We have been using Simmer for three weeks now and we area really happy with the service. We were in a rut of putting frozen food in the oven and takeaways but simmer has allowed us to start eating heavier without having to spend an hour cooking every evening. Thats time we have invested back to ourselves. I also look the packaging. So often with services like this, there will be plastic everywhere, not with Simmer. Thanks to Jaime in customer service too, communication has been spot on!

These meals have been a fantastic addition to my health goals. No weighing proteins and carbs, it is all done for you!
Lovely food, no nasties, high protein - exceptional. It takes a little getting used to, as you need to order your meals each week, by a certain date and time and if you are travelling a lot, remember to skip your dates prior to cut off.
I have already recommended to friends!

Ordered 18 meals, only 8 showed up

Last week I placed my first Simmer Eats order and I am incredibly disappointed with the service I have received. Most disappointingly, I ordered 18 meals and only 8 showed up. Secondly, my meals were delivered on the incorrect day and I did not receive any DPD notifications regarding the delivery which Simmer Eats promise. Thirdly, I only received 2 types of meal (neither of which I selected), despite ordering 9 types. Fourthly, only 3 of the meals which arrived were edible for me, as the rest contain gluten which I have to avoid.

I raised all of this in a detailed complaint email and was very disappointed by the customer service I received. My email was acknowledged by what appeared to be an automated bot, which asked me a question that had already been clearly answered in my original email. My support ticket was then closed, and I was invited to rate my customer service experience, despite my complaint never being properly addressed and Simmer Eats not refunding me for the 10 meals that did not arrive.

I will continue to contact customer service until I am remunerated accordingly. This service was supposed to reduce stress and it has only served to increase it. I would warn against using this company.

Hi Emily,
I'm really sorry to hear about this, this is far from the experience we want anyone to have, especially on a first order, and particularly given the gluten issue.

We're unable to locate your account with the details provided, so we've requested further information via Trustpilot in order to get this properly resolved, including the refund for the missing meals. You should have received an email about this, please do check your inbox (including spam/junk) when you have a moment.

Cancellation trend - listen to your feedback!

Update: I’ve since received a call a week later from someone at Simmer apologising for the canx process and explaining that the process should improve in future. Full refund given. 2* review updated to 4*

We used about 6 weeks worth of Simmer Eats. I’ll start with the good point: The food, it’s mostly very good for an instant meal, sometimes could do with more sauce on curries and some dishes. We sometimes add some extra seasoning but of course this is personal taste.
Not so good stuff:
The website makes it difficult to look ahead and skip weeks, it sometimes only showed one or two weeks ahead. This of course meant that we forgot to skip sometimes. After forgetting one final time I decided I should cancel. I told them explicitly ‘cancel my account with immediate effect’.
I happened to be on paternity leave at the time and little did I know they hadn’t cancelled my account, they had sent a link to me. Another £98 charge on my credit card appears. I email customer service who claim it is my responsibility to cancel the account with the link. So I click the link and discover an awfully long winded cancellation process which is unclear and involves aggressive marketing to try and keep customers subscribed. I give up and message customer services, but who this time manage to cancel the account. They offered a 50% refund, after being asked to raise the issue to a supervisor.

In sum: the customer should have more control on the website and the link placing the hideous cancellation process on the customer should be removed. There are many 1* reviews referring to this, it must surely be damaging your reputation over time?

Really poor customer service from the ‘manager’ Lilly. Unable to resolve issues with cancelling the box only 1 hour after deadline, rude and unprofessional on emails. I have had similar issues with other meal services who have had no issues with resolving this issue. Wouldn’t recommend.

DISAPPOINTING COMPANY

My experience with Simmer has been extremely DISAPPOINTING!

I genuinely believed I had successfully skipped my week's order, but for some reason the request didn't go through. The payment had only just been taken when I realised what had happened, so I contacted customer service immediately hoping they would show some understanding.

Instead, they refused to refund the order and showed absolutely no flexibility whatsoever. Every response was just a copy-and-paste of their terms and conditions.

They weren't interested in finding a solution; they were only interested in keeping the payment.

The only "solutions" they offered were to accept a 50% refund, send the meals to another address even though I had already explained I wouldn't even be in the UK, or give the food to someone else. None of those options solved the actual problem.

What makes this even worse is how sneaky the whole subscription system feels. The website is confusing and ambiguous, especially when it comes to cancelling your subscription or even finding a way to contact customer service. Those options are much harder to find than they should be. It genuinely gives the impression that the platform is designed to make joining easy but leaving as difficult as possible.

There was also no reminder before the cut-off date to let me know my order was about to be processed. Once the deadline passed, the meals were simply selected automatically, and that was it.

Several members of my family also use Simmer, and they've made similar comments about how confusing and unclear the website is. This wasn't just my experience.

The most disappointing part wasn't the money, it was the complete lack of customer care. Honest mistakes happen, and companies that genuinely value their customers know when to make reasonable exceptions or at least work towards a practical solution. Simmer chose not to.

To make matters even worse, once I accepted that they weren't going to refund the order and decided to keep it, despite the fact that I wouldn't even be in the UK to use it myself, I asked if I could at least change the meal selection so the person receiving the box would get dishes that suited them better. Once again, they refused. They wouldn't show any flexibility, even for something as simple as changing the meals before dispatch. In the end, the only thing they did was offer a 20% refund, which felt more like an attempt to protect their reputation than to genuinely resolve the issue. Their complete unwillingness to accommodate even a small, reasonable request was incredibly disappointing.

If you subscribe, be extremely careful. Read every detail, double-check every click, and don't expect any flexibility if something goes wrong. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this company.

Ordered 15 meals one week and only 10…

Ordered 15 meals one week and only 10 arrived — yet I was charged the full amount for all 15. Raised this with customer service and it was never even acknowledged.

I then cancelled my subscription entirely, well before their Tuesday 1pm cut-off (I cancelled the Sunday before). On top of that, the website itself is genuinely hard to navigate — finding the cancellation option in the first place felt like a maze, buried away rather than being clear and accessible. Once sent by support team it didn't even work — it redirected me to a reactivation page instead. As a result, I was charged in full again this week for an order I never wanted.

When I contacted support about it, I got a friendly-sounding but completely generic reply repeating their cut-off policy, with zero mention of the original missing-meals issue, and no confirmation of whether my subscription was actually cancelled or whether either charge would be refunded. Same script, no actual answers.

The whole point of a meal subscription service is to save time and take the hassle out of the week. Instead I've spent more time hunting for a working cancel button, chasing refunds, and asking the same three questions repeatedly than I would have spent just cooking myself.

Two billing errors in a row, a website that seems designed to make cancelling difficult, and a support team that copy-pastes policy instead of confirming actions. Avoid.

Hi,
I'm really sorry to hear about this. Missing meals, a broken cancellation link, and being charged twice with no clear answers is not the experience we want anyone to have.
