To whom it may concern,

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a deeply disturbing experience I witnessed at your Erdington venue on the night of Tuesday, by a short Asian staff member. The conduct of the specific male staff member was so unprofessional and unethical that I feel compelled to bring it to your immediate attention.

During my visit, I could not help but overhear a conversation between this staff member and a colleague. The content of this conversation was shocking. The staff member in question was openly bragging about how, when counting the cash at the end of the night, he manages to sneak a few “cheeky” notes into his own pocket. He explicitly stated that he believes Shipley’s would not notice this theft because he has, in his words, gained the company’s “trust.”

I find this admission to be absolutely disgusting and a profound breach of trust. To hear an employee boast about systematically stealing from his employer is unacceptable and raises serious questions about your internal financial controls.

Furthermore, his unprofessional behaviour was not limited to this criminal admission. I also overheard him telling his colleague that he “gets his own way” and that the managers, to use his crude phrase, “lick his backside.” This demonstrates a blatant lack of respect for the management structure and suggests a toxic sense of entitlement.

His conduct towards customers was equally poor. Throughout the evening, he was consistently rude and inattentive. He was observed constantly using his personal mobile phone and engaging in personal conversations with other staff members, instead of attending to patrons. On multiple occasions, he was seen laughing dismissively when customers were experiencing losses on the machines, showing a complete lack of empathy and customer care. He made no effort to ask if anyone required assistance.

I have been a visitor to your venue in the past and have never had any issue with your staff. However, the actions of this individual on Tuesday night have completely undermined my confidence in your establishment. Is this truly the type of person Shipley’s wishes to employ? An individual who boasts of theft, shows contempt for management, and treats customers with disrespect?

Unless this matter is investigated thoroughly and resolved to a standard that demonstrates a commitment to integrity and professionalism, I will not be visiting your venue again. I also feel a responsibility to inform others of this experience through appropriate channels, including social media and review platforms, so they can be aware of the conduct tolerated within your business.

I expect this to be treated with the utmost seriousness it warrants.

I think most of the staff are great

I think most of the staff are great. They know what you want when you arrive and they remember. Jade the manager always makes you feel welcome and always chats. Tracey and Tom on the nights are also amazing. What i dislike about the place two of the older staff are always a bit moody. One lady lies saying I switch between 20p and 50p on match plays. When that certainly isn’t the case. Other than that great place.

Was in stockton branch on Monday 16th…

Was in stockton branch on Monday 16th June, sunk about £40 in a t7 , the bonus dropped in on elvis then immediately crashed, error (which staff also saw) said unable to load correct music. So that was that machine turned off and as expected no bonus. I'm glad I hadn't put a lot of cash in but that's not the point. Faulty machines are not my fault so why should I fall foul of it. Sent a message on your contact page and as expected heard nothing back. Won't be spending anymore cash in your venues and urge everyone else to stick to nobles or admiral. Steer clear

excellent service and entertainment

I visit these gambling places and in all fairness the staff are excellent i go to stourbridge and Luke tracey and louise are welcoming and polite and friendly go that extra mile...you win you lose..most people who play must know there isn't such a thing as a safe bet...when you can't afford to lose dont go in...simples...I have also starting using kidderminster and I heard mixed reviews but my own personal opinion is the same as stourbridge polite and friendly the manager introduced herself made me a coffee and was very attentive...I go to these places as its a break from.the norm where I can just chill...and all the staff at both of these branches of Shipleys are amazing...I go in at least 5 times a week and was lucky to win £500 by picking a number on a wall...£500 for nothing is brilliant then you could win a free 65" TV...I just hope the Shipleys owners appreciate the staff they have as each one is an asset to your company 😀

Pay to withdraw your winnings!

First of all if I had realised I had to upload proof of my i.d I would not have joined the site, second, you have to pay £2.50 for each withdrawel! I don't think so, won't be using again

Awful place

Awful place. I’ve been to a few of these across the Midlands. Always full of lost souls wasting their money, or pensions even, lining the owners pockets. I just really don’t like these places. They shouldn’t be allowed as they can really damage peoples lives for nothing in return, it’s just wasting time and money. Hard avoid if you have an excessive trait.

Disgusting

Could you please send me the company policy which states that dogs are not allowed in your shops? Especially those in prams and off the floor?
I have just visited your store on George St in Tamworth to speak to my aunt who was using the machines and been rudely spoken to by “Maggie”. Not only this, a very horrible woman who was a customer who was nothing to do with the matter, started insulting me and being very rude. As stated I wasn’t even going in there to use the facilities.
Note that on leaving I looked all around the store outside for signs stating no dogs. As there wasn’t any sign I went in again to ask Maggie to show me the company policy which states no dogs are allowed. She couldn’t. If there is one it should be displayed.

I was very close to calling the police because this horrible woman came right up to my face wanting me to insult or assault her. I’m disgusted by what I’ve seen and experienced and will be contacting local media with photos of the place and those involved.

After a first visit to the new shipleys…

After a first visit to the new shipleys amusements in leicester i was greeted by a nice lady called pat i had a £50 spend limit which i usually film the machine halfway through a busy body proceeded to put her hands over my phone to stop me from filming i do not know the reason why as "If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear!".Also a bit of publicity to promote you would think they would be happy with. The R.O.M's in the bar x machines have all been tampered with & no longer run the original programs which i know 100% to be correct which i believe is in breach of the G.A. 2005 sect 24 a) "About the manner in which facilities are provided to ensure that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way". Avoid this place like the plague unless you like being ripped off with no game play!.
