A very basic hotel, confusing parking

Scandic Södertalje
A very basic hotel; the price was quite okay, but since it was warm and there was no ventilation or air conditioning in the room, it wasn't easy to sleep there. The breakfast was OK, but only till 09.30. We stayed there in the middle of July.
Also, remember to check the paid parking rules and the app that they use. We ended up accidentally overstaying the parking. The parking rules are very poorly explained, and it is basically "a scam". We felt cheated, although we are often in Sweden and know/follow the rules here. Their app isn´t user-friendly, the default option is just a night parking, and you need to actively choose another option (day) if you stay longer than til 08.30. This was very easy to overlook. We were charged 700 SEK (or even more because of international transfer costs). Several other guests were charged that night, so it looks like it is quite lucrative for the parking owners and impossible to complain for international tourists, since you need a Swedish BankID to do this.

A stay at the Scandic Rubenin was very…

A stay at the Scandic Rubenin was very pleasant. I am surprised to see some of the other reviews that are so negative. We got two rooms and were very happy with the rooms. You could get what you needed from the front desk if you asked. The gym and sauna were good, and with three elevators, even on a busy Saturday night, you were never waiting long. The location was excellent, and I will miss the breakfast. The staff at the breakfast were particularly great, especially a young lady with blonde hair, who was so sweet and welcoming and perhaps could not speak English well because when I asked her what three things she would do in Gothenburg, she seemed very shy. Another lady who stood out was from Romania, and she was so helpful when I asked her about places to visit. I would stay here again as the cost of all the services was very reasonable. We also had a meeting there; the room was well set up, and the food service was good.

A recent stay at Scandic Star Lund was not a pleasant family experience.

A recent stay at Scandic Star Lund was a really bad experience. My family and I selected the hotel as it is marketed as a family hotel. At check-in we where told that the pool/wellness was fully booked (we checked-in only two hours after earliest check). Further, the restaurant was fully booked but we could eat at the bar only. The kids menu was at a very very low quality and definitely not recommended. The morning buffet in the restaurant was super.

Avoid Scandic Rubinen at all costs!

Avoid Scandic Rubinen at all costs!

Worst experience ever.

I booked a stay in my name, but as I had meetings to attend, I dropped off my friend so he could spend some time at the hotel. At this point, I hadn’t checked in, so they refused to let him check in as the booking was in my name. This is somewhat understandable.

I then called the reception to verify it was okay and offered to send my passport details, etc. The situation was that I would not be there before midnight (six hours from now). I tried to explain the situation to the receptionist, but they did not seem to understand and didn’t care at all! At the same time, the receptionist was rude and made jokes, thinking I would appreciate them.

Cynical money machine - no care for customers

I accidentally booked on the wrong dates at Scandic Europa - Gothenburg (through Hotels.com) 2 weeks later than I should have booked. Very stupid, and the booking was non-refundable.
I discovered my mistake a few hours later and contacted both Hotels.com and Scandic Europa. I was advised to make a new booking on the correct dates and then they would look into
the matter. Two days after my new booking they contact me and will not refund anything from the first booking, despite Scandic seeing my new booking in their system - on dates 2 weeks later, and despise advice to make a new booking.
I have told them I am completely fine not accepting a full refund, but just partial, as it was quite clearly a mistake but they are completely indifferent.
Talk about cynicism and acting in bad faith.
What a way to treat a customer.
Never again.

Scandic Continental

Scandic Continental, Stockholm:
I and a friend of mine ordered cocktails off the drinks menu at their rooftop bar. Much to our shock and disappointment they poured the cocktails from a plastic bottle! They had pre-batched the whole cocktail so we didn't get to see the bartender use the separate ingredients or which spirit brands they used. I have never seen this in any bar let alone a "classy" hotel bar. We will never get cocktails there again. Very bad experience.

Stay away from Scandic Orebro Vast

Avoid Scandic Orebro Vast. Worst experience ever. Lady from reception same as stuff manager showed highest level of rudness and discrimination. Had inquiry according my reservation so i tried to get answers, instead if that, they said they do not know and i have to leave reception, after several rude answers i have decided to get money back- they denied, which is illegal, i saw that it went too far and i have contacted main office by phone and while talking on the phone- they just call police without any reason behind it , without warning , without any legal basis behind it. After all this nonsense i contacted coordinator of scandic- they promised to make investigation, which they did not ofc, just started to blame and accuse me in rudness. Lies and disregard which cant be even imagined in industry of hotel accommodation. Thats my first and i bet last time having this humiliation as a person , as a guest. Unprofessional unpolite stuff , who overuse their power at their work place, 0 ethique and zero knowledge what hospitality is. If you do not want to be treated as nobody for your own money- find other place to stay

A nice hotel in Malmö

All in all, Scandic Triangeln in Malmö is a nice hotel.

The hotel is centrally located in Malmö with good bus and train connections to both Sweden and Denmark. In the same building as the hotel is a large shopping center with many options also in terms of dining. In addition, on the other side of the road is the central pedestrian street in Malmö.

The hotel and its staff make things work really well. Check-in, breakfast and buying food are working smoothly. The breakfast is well organized with many options of good quality. This time the cleaners hadn't really done their job. We noted this to the reception and, in addition to a pleasant conversation, we were compensated.

If you are driving, check in and then park in the basement under the hotel - unlike other hotels in central Malmö, there are good parking conditions that are also used by customers in the shopping center. Once you have checked in, you can access the hotel directly from the basement.

Really? Are you kidding me?

Did you really make a "poster all over the town ad" that tells the majority part off the population children that they are not welcome - that we need time free from children "barnfritt"? The need for relaxation could have been told in so many other and sympathetic ways. Who else would you put in an ad like that. Men? Women? People with special needs? People in a specific colour? What signal do you think you send to the children who read this?

I will never stay in this hotel again

Stayed at Scandic Växjö and I have never felt more unwelcome in a hotel. I stay between 100 and 180 nights a year in hotels and have done so for almost 20 years. The reception staff behave as if you are happy to be allowed to stay with them at all. The only thing that saves the hotel from getting a star anyway is that the staff in the dining room and the cleaning deserve 5 stars. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Bad. Belongs in the stone age this one

Stayed here for two nights and the first was quite ok, decent standard of the room.
But the last night was absolutely terrible, something I thought belonged to the past. The hotel staged hardcore disco on weekends and venue for this lies directly below rom first floor. The music kept going to 02.00. We had made plans to get up 6:00 and drive further but it came to nothing. The hotel claims that this music on weekends standing on their website and that they are therefore apologize. They also say that we had one of the better room in the flor, (122) which certainly true. I was down to make a complaint and heard that sound level was much higher elsewhere in the first flor
