Me and my partner had used Romans to…

Me and my partner had used Romans to rent a property in the Berkshire area this past month, and I found the process very straightforward.

Tyriq provided us with all the help we needed and worked really hard for us to get a property sorted, massively appreciate his help and also his personable approach whilst maintaining high professionalism. Would recommend going through Romans and hope to use again when tenancy runs out. Thanks again to Tyriq !

Giving 1 star as I had too. Romans took over the care of my property after thew landlord decided to sell up on a aging property. Within 6 months they raised the rent by £100 p/m (clearly a move by romans to make more money as that's the only real reason rent goes up)

Through my tenancy I reported many issues, including broken white goods, a cooker hob that sounded more like a ticking time bomb, broken extractors fans & windows, and a cherry on the top Mould in both bathrooms (just open a window, use the fan...I coudln't open three of the 6 windows in the flat and the fans didn't work) The mould was resolved via a spray bought from the local hardware shop, it shortly returned within 3 weeks.

I have now been out of the property for 7 weeks, I have not seen a single penny of my deposit back. It took 4 weeks from them to enter my meter readings (upon looking all they did was enter 0).

I have chased numerous to have negotiations about my deposit to be told the person dealing with it is on holiday or in a department meeting, yet I can speak to her colleagues?

Do not ever rent a property from LRG or even list your property with them.

Romans Farnborough landlord review

I have been a landlord for more than 5 years and use the fully managed service with Romans Farnborough branch. The smooth running of the tenancy is mainly dependant on the services of the Property Manager.
Our Property Manager Jackie Miles- Miller is a real asset who provides a great service. She is amazingly proactive and is always ready to suggest solutions to any problems or issues that come our way.

Very pleased with the service provided by Romans in Winchester. In particular from both Ceri, our Property Manager and Kim, our Lettings Manager. A really great and smooth experience with Romans

Really great experience with Romans — Nathan and Lorraine were both fantastic.

They made the whole process of securing my new place smooth, quick and completely stress-free. Communication was clear throughout and they were always helpful and easy to deal with.

Moving can be stressful, but they made it feel straightforward from start to finish.

Would definitely recommend!

Refreshingly good service

I have recently rented a home through Romans. What could have a a stressful process was made easy by Jon Randall.
His customer service and pro active approach was refreshingly good, and overall his service was excellent from being to end.

Excellent Estate Agent, will use them again.

Nathan, Mark and Steve were excellent at helping me get a place at The Roebuck, at short notice ( which I needed) I should have used Romans, Tilehurst, much sooner, as they got everything done, ASAP. Lorriane, the Move in Manager, was really professional as well, everything done for my move in with no problems. In the future, I will use Romans, Tilehurst, before anyone else; their skill at find accomadation has been the best I've experienced so far

Abrupt

Looking to place a studio apartment on the market. Was put through to a guy called George. He was, in my opinion, very rude and obviously did not want to be dealing with such a small property. When I asked the selling fees, he asked how would I be choosing which agent to go with. When I said, probably the cheapest, he said “It won’t be us then”. Basically that was the end of.
What I didn’t tell him, due to his abrupt manner, is I also have a property on The Fairway to put on the market at the same time.
I think you should be a little more courteous to your potential vendors. You could have had 2 properties to sell, one exceeding £1million.

Excellent service from Romans in Yateley

our experience with the Farnham office…

our experience with the Farnham office wasn’t good. They valued our house and tied us into a 21-week contract only to tell us 2 months later that based on viewer feedback and current market, they believe our house is worth 35k less then originally marketed, and 15k less then the reduction in price we’d already made. We have a 3 bed semi detached, and they tried telling me we should price to that of a 2 bed property, or another area such as church crookham, which made no sense to me as were a 3 bed in Farnham. At the same time charters advertised an identical property to ours (as we’re a new build development) at the same price as the original valuation price, something which Romans advised made no sense as they won’t sell it, which they did sell. I had 2 other agents value the property and provide market report and confirmed the price they were pushing us towards didn’t match that of a 3 bed semi in Farnham so didn’t understand the logic. When we requested to get out the contract as they no longer believe in their own valuation and therefore are not the right agents for us, we had some very unprofessional and heated conversations telling us we’re going to have to just take it off the market. At the time these conversations were happening we did receive an offer, one that they agreed to a sale price of 7k more then that of the price Romans wanted us to reduce to, only confirming they were incorrect. They then went and advertised our neighbouring property, also a 3 bed semi, only marginally bigger which was originally 30k more when sold by the developer, at 140k more then the price they told me mine was worth. This further confirmed to me they value properties at a much higher price to win business, before pushing you to reduce the price in order to sell it. We also found out from our buyers they lied and stated I was pregnant with another due imminently and needed a swift sale, I’m not pregnant nor had we yet found anywhere to go, but they failed to communicate to us our buyers required a quick move and therefore the sale has now fallen through because they can’t wait any longer, both us and our buyers are dissatisfied with their service.
I would just be careful with the time they tie you into sole agency as we aren’t the only ones on our estate they did this to.
