Iv only split a few really knotty bits but so far it's an absolute beast of a machine, starts first pull and has heaps of power.

I have an old log splitter you have to lift the logs onto...You may be surprised to know how much time this takes! A great machine does exactly what it says on the tin..fabulous I needed a machine that I didn't have to lift logs onto, such a great time saver.

Footnote....Rock Machinery warn buyers this machine requires a 32a MCB supply breaker!..and no extension leads used. This unit has a 3kw induction motor.
(As a retired electrical engineer advice, do not use extension leads on electric induction motors, log splitters, cement mixers etc. The reason for this is they WILL cause a voltage drop, causing the electric motor to overheat and eventual failure!....
If you have to use extend a lead on these type of motors get an electrician to make up a 20-25m extension lead for you using 4mm or 6mm rubber twin & earth cable ...you should then be ok without any significant voltage drop and extend the life of the motor and the machine.

I am pleased with my purchases from Rock Machinery; the service/delivery is great, considering they are based at the extreme other end of the country from me. The build quality of the equipment is also good and reasonably priced. All in all, I can't fault this company or the items I've bought.

Very pleased with the log splitter I bought. The problem was delivery. A specific day was arranged for delivery which ultimately did not happen(told anytime between 8am & 6pm - 1 day wasted). After a phone call, the next day was allocated which did not happen( no phone call so 2 days wasted awaiting delivery). Then after the weekend my log splitter turned up first thing Monday morning, totally unannounced. This standard of service is totally unacceptableand, cost me 2 days work.

Fabulous machine. However I could not buy it direct from the firm as they couldn't deliver. I eventually purchased it through E Bay with NO delivery charge. Seemed strange that Rock could not supply through their own firm. Very pleased with the log splitter and my back is saying thank you as well.
