Report Fraud is a complete waste of your time.

Report Fraud, originally Action Fraud, is the same inept people, same useless organisation & same waste of people's time & government money. Don't waste your time. I reported to them. Person 1 was brainless, person 2 was better. Yet when I pressed option 3 to add to the report, person 2 had failed to give me a reference number, they couldn’t find it under my name & asked me to start again. I told them their poor Trustpilot rating, which was why they changed their name, yet still had a poor rating. Person 3 attempted to say people generally don't give good reviews. Rubbish and so are they. Don't waste your time. It's a dumping ground for overstretched police forces, full of clowns.

Professional standards not met: Failure to investigate documented misconduct

I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment with the service provided by ReportFraud UK. Despite presenting objective and irrefutable evidence regarding a solicitor’s dishonest conduct—specifically involving file stripping and the deliberate manipulation of records—the organization has shown a complete lack of interest in addressing the matter.

It is highly concerning that an entity positioned to tackle fraud and misconduct would overlook clear proof of professional malpractice. The refusal to engage with the evidence provided suggests a systemic failure in their investigative process and raises serious questions regarding their commitment to accountability.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend their services. The lack of transparency and the dismissive handling of a verified grievance suggest that the organization is not currently operating with the integrity required for such sensitive work.

This service is a joke

This service is a joke. I reported a clear cut case of fraud by a legal broker and the system after only 2 hours said not enough evidence to pursue. They have not asked to see the evidence (substantial) !!!! I have reported them to the Independent Police Complaints Office

Absolutely Useless

Just like its predecessor organisation, Action Fraud, it never actually investigates or prosecutes anyone. No matter how much detail of the event you provide them, they have a standard response: insufficient lines of enquiry.

They ask for all the details of fraudulent transactions, which you provide, but all you get is a crime reference with the standard case-closed response.

Fraudsters know police do not actually investigate fraud, so they can target UK residents with impunity.

This organisation actually acts as a foil, deflecting actual fraud cases away from local police forces, who simply cannot be bothered to investigate them.

As I said of Action Fraud, the predecessor, the organisation is a waste of taxpayers' funds and victims' time filing reports. I have not come across any review which confirms that an investigation was actually opened.

In a previous case, I reported the fraudsters to Dubai Police because they used Dubai-based accounts. They told me they were waiting for information from the UK Police to investigate the accounts, but that never happened, despite my telling Action Fraud that information was awaited. In this new case, I provided detailed crypto transactions with destination wallets - still "INSUFFICIENT LINES OF ENQUIRY". How do you combat cybercrime if you never trace transactions?

The UK remains a Fraudsters' Paradise!

Utterly useless

Utterly useless. Someone has registered their vehicle at our property. Reportfraud's system is very complex yet this v common fraud was not listed and I had to go to chat for help and was told to fill in one about credit. The report I filled in was missing a field - it asked what other authorities I had informed and did not provide a field. On completion I was told it was an "information report" and then said I would not hear from them again. On returning I found my completed and submitted report had not been saved and that it was a draft which would be deleted after seven days. So I do not even have any proof that I have submitted the report in the first place

Absolutely pathetic and pointless reporting service

didn't get to make a report. the online system only asks questions relating to my identity and personal details. was so confusing and head busting i gave up. what a pathetic service. Makes me proud to be a UK citizen and receive so much protection and support from our police. NOT. and after all of the confusion and frustration, the cyber criminals, hackers and scammers get to continue stealing our money.

Extremely Helpful

Wow this is strange, after being scammed a few times over the last few years and loosing a total of over £20000 and just been got by not 1 but 2 facebook scams I finally rung them, and after a lengthy phone conversation and a crime reference number, and asking me all the right questions, metaphorically knocked some sense into my head, about being Gullible, and I came off the phone like a new man, like a weight had been lifted, like they cured me.

they do not want to do anything

the report does not ask for any details.
it was complete waste of time. i have email and phone number of hackers, but police did not ask
the entire report consisted of questions regarding my personla details. it feels more like data mining operation than actual crime investigation unit
waste of time. honestly this palpable lack of interest just feels offensive

This so called service is an utter…

This so called service is an utter disgrace and a complete waste of time. Reported a fraud and closed an hour later due to lack of evidence. The fraudsters bank account details are fully available and the same person has defrauded others using exactly the same methods and bank account!
What is the point of this service when the online form takes forever, you can’t attach any evidence and your report is auto closed?
No wonder crime is out of control as thieves are free to continue committing crime whilst this excuse for a government department sleeps and drinks tea

Enable criminals to continue comitting fraud

Auto close complaints with erroneous codes. Ignore VRR stating no suspect interviewed when a)they refused to interviewthe suspects and b) the updated VRR as of 2026 does not require a suspect interview. Escalations to City of London police are ignored, this service stands in the way of serious fraud being reported and allow named criminals to get away with defrauding thousands of people. No wonder crooks are so blatant in this country, ReportFraud makes it impossible to report fraud. Due to this service blocking reports there is ongoing fraud and no escalation path, so they are enabling criminals. City of London somehow responded after I wrote this though, maybe they can recheck that VRR and understand that by not acting they are allowing millions more in fraud until someone does something.

Absolute waste of time reporting…

Absolute waste of time reporting anything to these people. Reported a financial fraud for the tune of £9500 with lots of evidence which you can't share with them as only allowed 5000 words.
This is also a global fraud involving quite a few victims based in different countries.
All they say is not enough evidence when we have plenty but can't send it to them. This also needed flagging up to interpol so it could be passed on to the relevant countries authorities and they just closed the case down no interest from them.

What is the point of this useless fraud reporting goverment site???

With all involved in the fraud the amount is in the 100s of thousands of pounds.

Impossible to register or sign in

Abominable systems making it virtually impossible to register or sign in: this dreadful business of making you provide all the details all over again is ridiculous, frustrating and more than a little abusive given that your users are already vistims.
