Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 136 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers report that their accounts are frequently blocked or banned without clear reasons, especially new accounts or those attempting to share external content. Users also express frustration with the moderation, stating that comments they dislike are hidden, while insults and hate speech from others often go unaddressed. The platform is perceived as biased, with some feeling that moderation practices are inconsistent, leading to the deletion of answers or blocking of accounts that express opposing views. Reviewers also highlight issues with the presence of fake profiles, scammers, and inappropriate content, including solicitation, which they claim are not adequately addressed despite reports. Additionally, many feel the site has declined in quality, becoming less useful for genuine discussions and more focused on certain viewpoints, leading to a decrease in active, genuine members.

After a few months I soon realised that…

After a few months I soon realised that the site is full of sexual predators, 98% of those are men, they will not only target younger females but will also target other men who they assume are gay when they aren't . . . As for the females, only 2% on the site are real. . . Most other's are fakes and scammers, reverse image search proves that,. . . But if you report those profiles, Quora will do nothing to remove them. Moderation..... Genuine members are always getting warnings for so called violations or uploading spam.... Which is false, and mostly not true, but yet Quora staff seem to enjoy deleting genuine profiles..... Very odd.... In short, the site is now a huge joke.... So probably best to avoid joining it.

I filed a report to Cybertip Canada…

I filed a report to Cybertip Canada about Quora allowing Disturbing cases of Qiura Users grooming m1n0rs on that platform. I had filed multiple reports on Quora of the users grooming on Quora & nothing, ever, gets done about the creeps who are preying on those individuals. That exceeds & breaks Quora's moderation rules they claim to enforce.

My account was blocked as soon as I created it

I can't say anything good about this site. New accounts are often blocked because you can enter your website address in the site field, or God forbid tell where you work and name your company! Why do such options exist when creating an account if you fill them out and they automatically block you!?

Quora's admins and Quora's owners are jack-ass

Quora's admins and Quora's owners: all they ever care about is banning you and silencing you. they're like egotistical tyrants and dictators, and jack-ass. ban all your accounts for no reason. Negative 15 stars.

They've got to make dozens of better open public websites than Quora.

It’s practically impossible to delete your account, stop their emails, or put an end to this misery. I only subscribed because I wanted to read a full story, and now I’m permanently logged in. When you try to delete your account, they put it on hold for 14 days — and if you accidentally log in during that period (which seems to happen even when you don’t), the countdown resets.

It’s also impossible to unsubscribe from all their emails, because they have hundreds of different notification types you have to manually deselect one by one.

I will be staying with actual community networks

Less than useless. Band my page and space that had authentic human created content from my website theperfectcurry.com. I stopped going there much once they started allowing piles and piles of AI created jargon. Still would post an article from my blog. Now I find my profile is banned. !!!

A load of hogwash

Shame on me that I've given this site numerous chances before when looking for a very specific question, but I think I'm going to block its URLs from now on via browser extension.

The only reasons you still see this site pop up in search results is because it keeps rebounding like a cockroach, and it probably bends over backwards for SEO.

After you give the website traffic, the question you clicked for doesn't even show up, nor any responses for it. Instead, you get answers from their AI garbage, and ones for completely unrelated questions. Truly a dead internet.

Nowadays, Quora is a load of useless, decayed, nothing-burger trash that is a has-been from the Yahoo Answers days.

And I thought the "sign in to prove you're 13" register wall from years back was this site's biggest problem...

They banned my original account without any prior warning. After I opened a new account, I began receiving warnings for posts that were only mildly critical; meanwhile, other users post clear insults and hate speech without consequence. I reported several of those accounts, but received no response or action. This inconsistent enforcement feels arbitrary and unfair. Quora’s moderation appears biased and needs to apply its rules evenly. They also hide comments they don't like.

doesn't really discuss anything

doesn't really discuss anything. Also the users are very much geared towards their educations. Jobs. The staff is obviously desperate. Plus the users post biased things. The website is utterly pointless and serves no point but to keep a staff potentially paid. If you can get on it and get people to agree with you. Then you haven't failed like me.

Troll site

Troll site protecting harassers. It's close to impossible to get a quality answer to a question. Many people with mental health issues seem to be on it. Some members run multiple accounts for the purposes of promoting their own content while downvoting content not compatible with their views. Quora does nothing about that.

Quora is dying

Allegedly it has 400 million people using the site. After some years posting their, I would guess far less than four million posters, many of whom are American.
The posts are often adversarial, which could be good if ran by human moderators, but it is run by unthinking bots, which drag the site down.
Strong opinions on religion, guns, Trump, etc can mean that posters deliberately complain against opposing posts to get them removed, ending with people banned by bots for no good reason.
Some come back under other aliases, like "Billy Flowers" who has made literally thousands of silly repetitive posts that would shame a five year old, and they are still on the site.
The general internet opinion on Quora now is that the site is dying because it has got rid of good posters and kept the dross who have nothing new to say, and many questions can often be answered by a quick Google search.
Five star "reviews" of Quora here have few words, talk of gaming, and look like they were written by a child. I think they are false.

It's useless

Quara is a contributor of dumbing down society. It's actually a bunch of nonsense and a waste of time with ridiculous questions and even worse answers. I don't even know how I got signed up for it but I've unsubscribed numerous times and it never goes away.

No evidence given.

I heard about others being banned while given no explanation, but I decided to try it for myself. I lasted a few days before being notified I was banned for violating the spam rule. I have no idea what it was regarding, do I appealed it asking for an example.
The next day it said my appeal was denied, and I was given no example.
I still have no idea what is wrong with this site.
