Called these guys on a Sunday lunchtime…

Called these guys on a Sunday lunchtime with a totally blocked drain in the garden. Manhole cover had lifted off and was overflowing. They came out early Sunday evening. Alan got stuck in and worked hard for over an hour with his high pressure jetting and camera inspection gear . It was a messy job. The drain was cleared and it was a friendly and professional service. The charge was £175 + Vat. I though that was Ok for an emergency callout on a Sunday and felt it was about right for someone to turn up with a significant amount of expensive gear to solve the problem.

My wife called Quickdrainclear Ltd on…

My wife called Quickdrainclear Ltd on Monday 10 March to request a call-out for our blocked toilet. The representative said that they could send someone that night. They called at 6.45 and the worker immediately pushed a plunger into the toilet and cleared the blockage - he was in our house for less than 30 seconds!! He then charged us £144!!!! We had thought the cost would be £40 plus vat! We were totally duped by this organisation and we wanted to warn other unsuspecting potential customers to be very wary of Quickdrainclear Limited! We are pensioners and we both have mobility issues but feel extremely let down by this company. My wife phoned the owner on Tuesday but he was very unhelpful and dismissive - we are investigating if we can contact Trading Standards or if there is a regulator who could investigate the practices of Quickdrainclear Limited. We both feel very let down and exploited.

Concrete blocking soil pipe

Our downstairs toilet has been problematic for years and finally, after flooding which covered our adjacent conservatory with dirty water, there was no option but to call our insurance company. They sent out a company the following day, the soil pipe was unblocked with a high-pressure jet. However, the camera investigations revealed what appeared to be a lump of concrete or cement blocking 40-50% of the pipe. The engineer advised a Picote drill would be required. The insurance company would not cover the cost of this.

After phoning around I spoke with Ryan from Quick Drain Clear. He had a Picote drill and attended my property the following day as agreed. In short, he battled and fought with his high-powered jet hose, Picote device and camera and managed to capture the piece of concrete. When he rechecked using his camera he found more pieces of concrete further up the pipe. He persevered and ultimately, was able to remove six pieces of concrete, including one piece that was 8" long and had moulded to the shape of the pipe. It was quite extraordinary. He gave me a full viewing via his camera of the pipe and the adjacent branches - all clear!

This was a job exceptionally well done and I have to say at a fraction of the cost quoted by the company my insurance contacted.

Called at lunchtime, fixed by tea-time.

Called at lunchtime and the job was done and dusted by tea-time the same day!
I called Quick Drain Clear when toilet waste was coming up in our driveway. They sent a guy out within a couple of hours. He clearly knew exactly what he was doing and got the blockage cleared without any fuss. It was a horrible stinking job, but he just got on with it! He also spent time cleaning the (literal) cr4p off our driveway. Could not have asked for better service. Great price too! Much better than a certain other drain company I've used before.

A big thanks to Quick Drain Clear who…

A big thanks to Quick Drain Clear who fixed our blockage after a very grumpy guy from Dyno Rod advised that it couldn't be done and I should contact my insurance. The insurance advised based on the Dyno Rod report that I am not covered. I didn't know what to do next so took to the internet and found Quick Drain Clear. When I called and explained the situation they sent someone round within about an hour. They cleared the blockage in quick time with no digging or disruption. Excellent service. I hope I don't get any more blocked drains but I know who I'll call first. P.S. I'm pleased that I didn't check previous trust pilot reviews because if I had I would still have a blocked drain now.

In reply to Quick Drain Clear's reply

In reply to your reply. I thought you had cleared the blockage in my sink, but you hadn't. You had only cleared part way down the pipe, which was why some of the water was draining away in the demonstration. The actual blockage was further down the pipe. The chap from your company who came had forgotten his plunger and didn't provide his own dust sheet either. I had to give him an old sheet of mine. Wasn't impressed with that either.

You don't have the right equipment. You need to invest in a Flex Shaft.

Avoid this company at all costs!!

Avoid this company at all costs!!! Hired to unblock an external drain which was not completed however we were still charged full price with the engineer dumping waste in our bins. Very unprofessional company who will just take your money and not deal with issue. We have had to hire another company to resolve the issue.

Quick Drain Clear - Unprofessional with Worthless Warranty

Our property’s gutters/downpipes were blocked by autumnal leaves. Despite being initially quoted an exorbitant figure to clear some of the drains, we negotiated a fixed price with QuickDrainClear to clear all the drains. Note, dear reader, ALL the property’s drains, without singling out particular ones - a simple enough job scope, you might think. Their worker, Willie Hamilton, also confirmed a 90-day warranty for the work although he did not issue details of this in writing. Out of professional respect, we did not stand over him whilst clearing the drains - which we would recommend any client of QDC should do because it transpired he did not complete the work scope. When we discovered some of the drains had not been cleaned (realising these couldn’t be tested until the winter weather allowed), we phoned to claim under the so-called ‘warranty’. After leaving several messages, we were initially told - by the very same worker - we should have checked at the time whether he had completed clearance of ALL the drains! How might we have done that, we asked. To us, only a child needs supervision - he had agreed a price to clear ALL the drains, payment was made promptly and we were raising a claim within the agreed 90 day period. All these are indisputable facts. We attempted to reason with QDC they would surely want to take pride in completing all their work to a professional level because a positive review inevitably adds greater value to their business than the marginal cost of revisiting the site to finish the job. He refused to attend without additional payment, and has subsequently claimed the warranty was actually only valid for 30 days. Hence, it's difficult to write anything positive about a drain clearing service which proved incapable of completing and unwilling to remedy what should have been a straightforward task without wanted additional payment for a worker to return and maybe do the job properly second time whilst offering yet another worthless and variable guarantee. Our analogous summary: if you take your car to a garage and pay them to re-inflate all the tyres, you presume they won't hand it back with a flat and certainly you expect them to complete the job without further charge!
