Quester Insurance offer a good annual car hire excess policy that has saved me having to negotiate insurance cover at car hire desks several times a year.
The policy is clearly communicated and the premiums seem reasonable. I have bought their cover for probably at least ten years. They seem very straightforward and do not hassle me about buying other products. I appreciate that!

Good Economical Covver
Easy Wysiwyg website. Having this insurance saves a significant amount re car hire insurance, particularly if you are hiring regularly. Fortunately I have not had to make a claim but the security of cover is always there.

Car insurance excess claim
Car insurance excess claim - refused to cover unless they received a 'tax invoice'. Car hire company refused to provide and so they refused to refund the claim despite me submitting proof of the damages, credit card showing deductions etc. Basically, if your car hirer fails to provide the 'tax invoice' they refuse to pay anything . Utter scam!!

As with any insurance claim our claim handlers are required to review documents to substantiate all claims, the tax invoice is an important document which shows the final charges including any administration fees or additional costs charged by the rental company. This should be provided by the rental company to evidence what they have charged you for.
The claim team have not declined your claim, they have advised that they cannot assess your claim at the moment without the necessary documents. I appreciate this ii frustrating, the claim handlers have offered to assist you in obtaining the documents they need by contacting your rental company alongside your attempts.
