I gave it a go but it’s not for me
I tried Prep Kitchen for 2 weeks as I wanted to try a different meal prep company and see which one I liked best. Unfortunately, I came away really disappointed, especially after the experience I’d had previously with Simmer Meals.
The difference in quality between the two felt quite stark to me. With Prep Kitchen, the meals didn’t seem very fresh, a lot of them lacked flavour, and the portion sizes felt surprisingly small. I was still hungry after eating some of the meals, which I didn’t expect considering the price. I also found bone and gristle in the chicken on more than one occasion, which really put me off altogether.
The biggest disappointment was how different the meals looked compared to the website photos. I can’t post photos on here, but the advertised meals showed full, colourful, well-portioned plates with fresh-looking ingredients and properly presented chicken and rice. What actually arrived looked completely different mixed together, mushy, much smaller than expected, and in some cases barely filled half of a small bowl. Comparing what was advertised to what we received honestly felt really misleading and was a huge let-down.
That being said, there were some positives. The website is very well designed and gives you a good understanding of what you’re picking before ordering. Allergens are clearly listed, delivery was reliable, and the meals arrived securely packaged.
I genuinely wanted to like Prep Kitchen and gave it a fair try for two weeks, but the overall experience just didn’t meet my expectations. I’ll personally be going back to Simmer Meals

Just finished my first week
Just finished my first week. Food has all been very tasty (especially the pancakes), and even the meals that at a glance I wasn't sure about have been real nice.
Had some shattered boxes in the first delivery, but Paul reached out (without me asking) to see how it all was and replaced multiple meals, even though I ate them already.
Have just come from HelloFresh (who will not stop calling me, christ) and so far, much prefer!

Customer service is really good Ashley replied to my concerns and I was very happy with the outcome .
The Prep kitchen meals are really good quality and I love the variety of the dishes they taste amazing and not like a microwave meal. You can also freeze them for 3 months . Delivery is really good . I've recommended them to a few friends myself so really happy .

Great meals, excellent customer focused company
I’ve been getting the meals from Prepkitchen for quite a while now. They’re perfect for me as I have disabilities that mean cooking from scratch isn’t possible, so these are a healthy alternative, there’s a good selection and I can keep them in the fridge too which is great. There have been a few problems with delivery but that’s DPD’s fault. The reason for this review is because I received a phone call this morning after I gave online feedback that I hadn’t enjoyed one of the new recipes; Jordan was interested in how he could make it better. That’s a pretty astonishing level of customer service these days and the more I think about it the more I’m impressed that he responded to negative feedback on one new meal with a ‘how can we do better’ attitude. Very glad I found this company and massive credit to them for being genuinely interested in customer feedback.

Over 20 meals in now & very happy...
Over 20 meals in now & really happy so far, takes the thinking out of meal planning & gives me back some time during a busy week. Def less skipping meals & more consistent protein intake. Used the meal feedback tool & was surprised to get a call from Jordan (who was ace) asking for more info, so great to see its taken on board. Good food in easy to use cartons no washing dishes
Well i heard about you through a friend so l thought I'd give it ago. I must say I wasn't disappointed. The food is lovely 98% of the time, it's only when I try a new recipe and I'm not sure what to expect. But nine times out of ten is been perfect.

I have tried a number of "food service"…
I have tried a number of "food service" companies and have been left wanting in many ways. I was not hopeful of a better experience from Prep Kitchen. Im pleased to say my scepticism was unfounded. The DPD deliveries have been on time, and the packages have been well-protected. My initial reaction was that the portions looked small; however, all the meals we have enjoyed have satisfied our hunger pangs. Food is of great quality with tasty vegetables and meat that is fat free and full of flavour. Some dishes do come out of the microwave looking a little less than the chef would want them to in presentation, but that doesn't spoil the enjoyment, as so far the taste of the dishes has compensated for the look. We are a busy family, and using Prep Kitchen a couple of nights a week has taken pressure off us when looking to get to Football/Rugby/Swimming while trying to ensure good quality food for the family. The app is easy to use, and we like the fact that we can change meals easily. The call we received from Sam to check how our experience had been was a nice touch.

The food quality is excellent, and delivery is very customizable. I personally get the 5 meals a week plan, and there are a variety of options to choose from. On one occasion, one box was slightly damaged, but otherwise all the meals were great. I spoke to Sam over the phone, and she kindly gave me a discount for the next meal. These meals are very helpful, especially when I am working full-time, as they help me avoid ordering food delivery and stick to my diet.

I’ve been with Prep for 5 years now! Wow, what a while. It only goes to show how much I love them. The quality of ingredients is excellent. I appreciate their high protein meals and have many favourites that I order on repeat. It saves me time, money and stress of having to shop and cook. I do occasionally try competitors but still happy to stick with Prep. as a fussy eater I like their recipes and seasoning the most :)

Since starting my weight loss journey I have tried a handful of meal subscriptions and Prep is honestly the best one out there. The meals are always delicious, there’s a good variety but it’s not overwhelming to choose what you want each week. The portion sizes are perfect and they keep me full. I also find the app easy to use and it’s the food always tastes fresh with high quality ingredients. 10/10

I’m 61 yrs old and started prep kitchen…
I’m 61 yrs old and started prep kitchen 4 weeks ago to help with weight loss as meals were on offer. These meals are delicious ( once you find your favourites). Easy delivery and I love that they can be frozen too. I travel a lot so am also really happy that I can pause my subscription, rather than cancel. I was also super impressed that Kate phoned me, to check on my feedback. I absolutely rate this company 10/10 and I’ve tried many equivalents!
