My Polestar 4 was delivered in January with a damaged alloy. After quite a lot of delays from Polestar Support, it was eventually taken back by the delivery company, BCA, to be repaired. This turned into a 2 month(!) ordeal where I struggled to get any sense out of Polestar as to why my car was taking so long for an alloy to be repaired. What really made it worse was the broken promises from Polestar, which continue to this day. Promises of action, of call backs, of resolutions, then nothing. No ownership, no delivering on what they promised. When the car was eventually returned after 2 months, not only was the damaged alloy still damaged, but BCA had also managed to damage another alloy, put a dent over one of the wheel arches, scrape one of the wing mirrors and damage the rear logo badge. Since then it's been two more months of never-ending promises of compensation, repairs, etc. Just this week I was told that it would probably be resolved by Friday and that I'd get a phone call to update - nothing. I sent an email in to chase. No response. The customer service is appalling. I have raised a complaint with the finance company, Arval, and have told them and Polestar that I'm taking the case to the Financial Ombudsman Service if this isn't resolved by the end of next week. I see that these reviews are responded to by Polestar - it will be interesting to see if this is just more lip service or whether someone at Polestar can actually get things done.
*Update*
Polestar did indeed get in touch again…to tell me that they still haven’t decided on either the compensation payment or the authorisation to proceed with the repairs. Utterly inept. I will now proceed to start a case with the Financial Ombudsman Service. Companies like Polestar should not be allowed to treat customers like this.

I just picked up my polestar 4 from Wilmslow Manchester, from start to to finish my experience has been perfect, Louis the salesman who helped me all the way through the process was excellent, friendly and answered all my questions that I had. For me so far I haven’t found anything wrong with my car, I am enjoying driving it, I am not the best with computers but after being shown around it I am getting used to it, it’s not as scary as I thought it was going to be, If you are thinking of buy a polestar I would highly recommend Louis at Wilmslow.

Used the online chat, to transfer ownership. Process was simple and completed quickly.

Using Online Chat via the Polestar app was a very different Chat experience to most website Chat facilities, which are usually tedious and a waste of time. Klara answered my queries promptly and accurately and I would not hesitate to use the Polestar Chat again for any further issues. An all round great experience!

I had an ongoing issue that involved my Polestar 2 not engaging any gears, either any of the forward or reverse gears.
Sam at Polestar customer service was first class with his knowledge and advice. We tried a system reset which did not seem to work initially, but having said that I have not had this issue since. Sam was understanding of the seriousness of this issue and kept in touch by liasing and monituring any reoccurrance.

I've edited my one-star review because Polestar have worked very hard (particularly Snows in Plymouth) to put right the issues. I now have the car back, and it is working correctly. Finally, the key issue has been resolved (that took 2 attempts), so the car now opens when I approach it. There are still glitches in the infotainment whereby the radio will stop working, and the only way to resolve it is to pull over and reset the system (takes about 2-3 minutes). It is frustrating that Polestar would release the car with this. However, it is generally nice to drive and saves me about £40 a week net in petrol (on a cheap night rate).
OLD REVIEW:
Goodness me, I'm frustrated. I hate writing bad reviews. Firstly, the team at Snows in Plymouth have been as helpful as they possibly can; no complaints there. Stuart and Mark have been brilliant. My truck is with Polestar, selling me a car (Polestar 3) that hasn't had the complimentary chip upgrade and whose key fob doesn't work, so unlocking the car is a real bind. The credit card key has to be in exactly the right position, and it always takes a few seconds. What was wrong with remote control opening? It has bugs in the software - e.g. the radio will stop working (and no, I am not stupid - it is not because there is no signal, as they tried to tell me - there is not 15 miles of no signal between Newton Abbot and Exeter along a main dual carriageway affecting every channel). The only way to get the radio restarted is to stop the car, lock it, then unlock it; then it is ok... for a while. There are other intermittent bugs - every now and then, you can't adjust the radio volume (when it's working). The most annoying thing is the key fob. It won't unlock the car at all - whether holding it to the door handle or in proximity. It will allow me to drive the car. I've had the car a week, and it's never worked. It was suggested I buy a wireless charger pad and try it because it could deliver more charge to the fob. So I spent £15 on one. For it not to work on the fob. So I didn't need one after all. Why was the key given to me when it wasn't working on a car I spent £48,000 on? I was given an initial date of 20th August to sort it - 11 weeks away!!!! This has been brought forward to 30th July - 8 weeks away. I went into Vertu Volvo - who were EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL - THANK YOU. And they've agreed to see the car this Wednesday. Credit to them at least; I wish I had got the manager's name because he was brilliant. Other niggly things - you can't set the mirrors to fold when you lock the car. This is a planned update but with no date??? Instead, you have to go into the menus because there is no physical button, but even then they hardly fold in at all, which is a poorly thought-out design given the car is wide. It's such a shame about these issues, because otherwise the car is nice to drive and has a beautiful interior, and it should never have been released with them. Lastly - I get that the real-world range is always less than the official one, but 270 miles on a car that claims 429? That's gentle driving, albeit with a slug of dual-carriageway miles and the air conditioning working hard in this weather, but I expected at least 330. I believe I have 30 days to reject the car? Is that why you make the service dates months in arrears?

I have always heard that Polestar’s customer support is good, but my recent experience has more than cemented that claim.
Our Polestar 2 recently required repairs and was stuck at our local Volvo dealership waiting for a part. Due to supply issues, we were left without our only family car for six long weeks. Facing that kind of uncertainty is incredibly stressful, especially with a looming driving trip to France on the horizon.
Emily from the support team was an absolute godsend throughout the entire process. She completely took control of the situation: sorting out our hire cars, navigating the logistics, and finding us a viable vehicle solution so we didn't have to cancel our holiday to France.
What truly stood out was her communication. Emily always returned calls, gave regular updates exactly when she said she would, and constantly checked in on us. She was kind, patient, and deeply understanding—even when I was stressed out of my mind with only one day left until our French road trip and no car had arrived yet!
Six weeks without your car is never easy, but Emily's top-tier support turned a logistical nightmare into a seamless experience. She is a massive asset to Polestar. Thank you so much, Emily!

I was very pleased to receive excellent support from Craig at Polestar customer support who in very clear terms provided the updated position regarding an extended warranty for my car and also linked my retained plate to my car records.I believed this had previously been done 18 months ago when it had not been.He went the extra mile and phoned me a second time to confirm all now updated I would be vey happy to recommend the support that is offered.

After worryingly having difficulties in claiming ownership of my new (to me) Polestar 2 on the Polestar system, possibly due to the previous owner not relinquishing their ownership, I contacted Polestar Support and spoke with Sam. He was very helpful and talked me through the process of uploading my registration document to confirm my ownership before amending the Polestar systems accordingly. I now have full Polestar Admin rights on the vehicle, which opens several previously hidden facilities. Sam also took the time to explain the system, including the vehicles service record etc., all of which I found extremely helpful and reassuring.

What started out as a great ownership experience (Polestar 2) has now descended into expense and frustration.
The infotainment screen has always been ponderous, slow and occasionally downright dangerous in the amount of time it takes to respond. However, nearing the end of the short (by some other manufacturers standards) warranty period my boot struts began malfunctioning, rapidly failing, so I couldn't access the boot. This was compounded by Polestar and Volvo's inability to offer appointments (maybe their workshops are so full of malfunctioning cars there is a backlog) that I was unable to open the boot for over 3 months. This was however fixed within the warranty period otherwise it would have been over £1000!
3 weeks later my heating also failed - cue the long wait to get it into the garage. They have told me it needs a full new heater unit at a cost of approx £1200 and after many emails back and forth Polestar will offer 20% as goodwill costing me still north of £900.
Customer service by email falls under 2 categories. The first being 'kick the can down the road' Most responses involve some form of wait and see... They obviously don't want to commit to anything that would cost them money or result in satisfied and happy customers. The 2nd is 'computer says no!' Apparently Polestar managers are unable to overrule something called a global goodwill calculator (which really begs the questions as why bother having managers?).
Overall, Polestar have had a great opportunity to remedy this and retain a customer but have failed at every stage and I will now fix the car, dispose of it and never buy a polestar again.
Verdict: Great until something goes wrong (which it will!)

The main problem is not with the Polestar call centre, it is with the Volvo garage I am directed to.
The experience of being a Volvo West London customer is possibly the most miserable I have encountered in any category in over 30 years. Your processes are not fit for purpose and your communication lamentable.
The last time I brought our car in I was told the process would take 48 hours. It took 2 weeks, with no credible explanation of why the delay occurred.
Previously I booked in and turned up for a key fob replacement only to be told that the fob had not been ordered. Another day and trip to Volvo West London wasted.
Hoping these moments of incompetence were the exception rather than the rule, I dropped off the car again this Monday morning having booked the appointment several months ago. I even spoke to Lauren the previous working day to check the car was coming in and the work required.
How naive I was. I gave it 3 days before calling to arrange collection, only to be told that work on the car had not yet begun. WTF?!
It's quite clear that the lot in Gunnersbury do not understand the basic concept of customer service. Why was I told it would take 48 hours when clearly no-one had any intention of completing it in this timeframe? Why 3 days later has work not started on the car? Why has no-one contacted me to explain the delay? How am I supposed to conduct my life without the car?
Here's a piece of constructive criticism: I understand a little about customer service, enough to know that any self respecting business would rightly feel ashamed of this chronic under-performance. Processes would be changed, people would be trained properly or fired.
I leave it to you to choose how to respond.

Upon collecting a brand new P2 in March 2026 there were a couple of things that needed to be addressed. Raising a case was very straight forward with Polestar customer services and I am delighted to say that my case was picked up by Stephen. Stephen did a fantastic job in resolving the issues we had and most certainly went the extra mile for us. We are new to Polestar and his exemplary customer service made a tremendous difference in establishing a strong brand reputation for me. Very happy overall and special credit to Stephen.

Had a great experience ordering my vehicle. Sales Executive Lewis was extremely helpful, attentive and responsive and personally handled an issue with my finance application and had it sorted within a couple of hours.
Any questions I had were dealt with by Lewis or the Customer Service team quickly and efficiently, including having the vehicle delivered to my preferred pickup Space as home delivery not possible to NI.
Overall a very positive experience and nothing but praise for Lewis and the team.

DO NOT BUY FROM POLESTAR AUSTRALIA!
Purchased a brand new Polestar 3 for $151,000 and have experienced nothing but persistent faults and failures since the day of delivery.
Issues in the first year included the vehicle refusing to unlock on multiple occasions, issues with access cards/fobs, the vehicle randomly unlocking itself while parked and unattended, several connectivity and software failures, repeated warning system failures, charging system faults and a serious tyre failure (in the first year!).
The vehicle has required multiple service visits in the first year, multiple software reinstalls and extended periods out of service. Despite this, Polestar's position is that the vehicle is "operating as expected" and is of "acceptable quality". We have photos and videos proving errors, but they do not care.
We have been through Fair Trading, NCAT and now this vehicle is the subject of legal proceedings.
Google 'Polestar and software glitch issues' and do your own research on their vehicles. We wish we we did before buying.
Based on my experience with this brand, and how little regard they show customers after purchase, I would strongly recommend prospective buyers avoid purchasing any Polestar vehicle.
