LOST ITS SPARK

I use to order here a lot Dvds , Camera etc but notice lately its not Play anymore its sellers ? so if something goes wrong like faulty DVD or missing item its a pain trying to contact seller then play plus the price is nowhere as cheap as it once was I try not to use the site now unless I cannot get item anywhere else .

Used to be good

I've no idea what has happened to Play but the service is bizarre these days. I have an order which cannot be processed and cannot be cancelled (it seems to be impossible to cancel a pending order). The supplier is unable to cancel, and Play won't respond to e-mails. Shocking service.

Now that's the way to do business!

I have ordered many things from play.com over the years. They are usually a good place to get presents for my family where I can purchase a few different items and place them in one carriage charge.

I sometimes struggle to get the previous season of NCIS or Bones for my father in law. This was the case recently when I tried various local shops and was running out of time before his birthday. Then it hit me...Play.com might have it. And as luck would have it, I was able to grab NCIS on a next day delivery service, cheaper than it would have been if it were in stock at a local retailer.

Needless to say, Another good save by these guys.

Poor service, do not believe prices!!!!! at Play.com

This company does not even have the decency to respond to email complaints. I ordered and paid for a sound bar from Avides. through play.com. They sent me a lower spec model which I returned and I requested they send me the correct model which I had paid for on line. They refused to send it and claimed play.com had made a mistake in the listing and had underpriced the model which I had ordered and paid for. Despite emails to both Avides and play.com requesting they honour their contract, they refunded my credit card payment after 3 weeks which meant I was short a Christmas present and too late to get sale prices elsewhere. Play.com did not even reply to my emails and in my opinion both companies breached the distance selling laws.

useless

Useless full of third party merchants who sell grey imports with no warranty in the uk. My item got lost and play. Com where useless at trying to recover my 600 pounds. Had to contact bank and get a charge back avoid this site and carefully check who your buying from in most cases your item comes from the far East

One of the worst retailers I have ever dealt with.

I remember the days when Play could rival amazon in the UK as often their service and delivery times we're better and they dispatched themselves, these days they rely on third party merchants to deliver all their stock, which quite frankly means they are a lazy money making operation who puts their wallets before customer service, I ordered two things from there one came quickly the other I am still waiting for after 2 weeks. To inconsistent to consider shopping here again.
Play what happened to you!!??

UPDATE
They have stole my money after the product got sent back because and I quote the full delivery charge was not paid on the product even when I was charged delivery by play and they never gave me a refund or any explanation, I am £13.00 down because of play.com with no explanation, no willingness to help and no refund.

warning; shop elsewhere !!!

DIDN'T DELIVER MY ITEMS.
NO RESPONSE OR EXPLAINATION.
IGNORED MY EMAILS.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
HAD TO CANCEL PAYMENT MYSELF AS THEY WHERE JUST GOING TO KEEP IT.
VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING.
USE A REPUTABLE COMPANY, NOT PLAY.COM !

Every time I've ordered something from Play.com something has gone wrong. And that covers the last five years.

Very bad experience

We ordered items, only to find out our items wouldn't be received for ages... we cancelled the only way PLAY.COM allows you, by "contacting the seller" on the your account section.

We did this straight away, making urgent requests for cancellations. We had no reply and over the next 2 days received "your order has been shipped" notifications...

currently trying to cancel the orders with each of the sellers which in itself is a nightmare!

Never again.

Never again.

Play.com via youwantitwegotit.

Ordered a DVD which didn't come.
Emailed them and said it hadn't come and they emailed me back to say they will be sending another one out within 2 days. I emailed (as they stated) 30 mins after that email was sent to confirm I didn't want another one as it's nearly Xmas and the 2 days wait for it to be posted and then the 6-7 working days delivery would make it just after Xmas. (Getting it delivered to work so won't be there to get it) they had 'apparently' sent another DVD out and then saw my email.

I work for an online company I personally go through the post to pick out orders if customers change their mind. Where as I didn't have the option. They presumed I would want a replacement.

No happy at all and wouldn't order from them or play.com now.

How the mighty can fall....

This site used to be awesome up until a couple of years ago. I used to buy EVERYTHING I could from here, choice was excellent, delivery was fast and customer server was brilliant.

However, then something changed, I'm not sure exactly what maybe it was the addition of the market place or the sale to Rakuten, but it went downhill in every way faster than a bobsleigh.

Sadly these days I avoid it like the plague and wouldn't consider buying anything from here.

Awful!! Avoid this website

This website used to be great years ago and now they use 3rd party sellers and the customer service is appalling.

Its been well over a week since I placed an order and it has not arrived. I call Play.com to be told its non of there business and I have to contact the 3rd party retailer which can have up to 3 days to answer my email. They would not refund my account or cancel the order. Awful customer service, unacceptable delivery times. overall a very bad experience and will not order again.

Play.com lost all credibility when they moved over to mostly 3rd party retailers.

The worst online experience I have ever had, this company is dishonest and completely unreliable.

This review of play.com was produced in November of 2013 after I discovered, on review of my credit card statements from June, I had not received a refund I had been promised. I followed all of their instructions for return of the product and was promised a refund within 3-5 days. I kept my proof of postage along with everything which was required, so my claim against them was without dispute.

The problem was, they delivered a different item to the one ordered, the item was returned, so now I am without both my money or any goods.

On chasing this up play.com , they sent me the following email which I quote:

"I have spoken to our Merchant Helpdesk regarding the return of the item. Unfortunately, due to the amount of time elapsed we are unable to assist further and you will now need to claim through the small claims court. I apologise for any inconvenience caused."

My verdict - do not deal with this company, they are immoral and dishonest.

Used to great some years ago

This company used to be great years ago but now they only seem to use third party sellers and in my experience the service has gone down greatly. My last attemp to purchase something ended up with me waiting for weeks for my order to show up before finally getting my money back. I now boycote this company
