We purchased a used Renault Kadjar in April 2026 from Perrys at Rotherham. The price was £7495 and was to come with a new MOT, serviced and 12 months warranty (the warranty becomes important later in this review).
Initially there were a couple of little niggles, the aircon was not working and, despite the vehicle having undergone a “pre MOT” it initially failed. These issues were addressed later but it raises concerns over the quality of the pre delivery inspection regime?
Anyway, later on after we had got the vehicle home we noticed via the service documentation that the cam belt should have been changed 4 years prior. We raised this issue with the dealership at Rotherham but lets just say, they were less than helpful, claiming it was a service item, not part of a standard service, not something Perrys do and a whole load of other reasons, but the end result was that they would not help.
So let’s move onto the warranty. This was provided by Perrys with the car at the time of purchase. In the terms and conditions of that warranty it clearly states that “the vehicle MUST be maintained to manufacturers standards for the warranty to be valid” The manufacturers standards dictate the the cam belt MUST be changed after 6 years, regardless of mileage. Perrys were sent a copy of this from Renault. Still however they would not budge. It was pointed out to them in several emails that the warranty was invalid DUE TO THE STATE THAT THEY SUPPLIED THE VEHICLE IN. The cost to replace the cam belt, and therefore validate the warranty was £500. Perrys would not budge. Some time passed and by now I was talking to Perrys head office. I advised that, having taken legal advise (and indeed I had via RAC Legal Services) it was my intention to have the work carried out at my own cost and to then seek recompense via the small claims court. Eventually they agreed to pay a contribution of £350 towards the work upon me sending them an invoice proving it had been carried out. This I did and the £350 was credited as promised.
I am still angry about this. Despite the outcome I am still £150 out of pocket. You do not expect, having purchased a vehicle from a “reputable” dealer, to then be faced with a £500 bill on day 1, or risk catastrophic engine failure and zero warranty. It is highly unlikely I will deal with Perrys again. If you do choose to buy a used vehicle from them, my advice would be to check the service records and ensure it meets the standards of the warranty they supply.
EDIT FOLLOWING RESPONSE FROM PERRYS: I see they failed to explain how the way they supplied the vehicle impacted the suppled warranty?

I recently bought my car from this dealership and I’m very happy with my purchase. I was looked after by Less, and I honestly can’t fault him. He answered all of my questions, and everything I pointed out on the car was fixed and rectified before I came to collect it.
He was friendly, professional, and provided all the information I needed. He even checked in a few days after the purchase to make sure I hadn’t experienced any issues.
Definitely top service from him, and I would highly recommend both Less and this dealership.

The whole process from first contact to driving the car off the forecourt was a pleasurable experience and the staff put you at ease with no pressure applied at all. Both Lee Duquemin & Brett (Sales Manager) explained the whole process as we moved forward. If you are looking at buying a new car or upgrade, I would highly recommend that you add Perry's to the search list.

I was dealt with by Alexis was extremely polite and helpful. It was a difficult decision going ‘electric’ and Alexis offered support and encouragement through the transition, as a result I am now enjoying the MG4 EV Long Range - back to an MG after nearly 50 years.

I have no issue with Gareth who handled the sale. It all went wrong when we asked for the Admin fee be waved. We were paying cash and with no car to trade-in. The Manager said no, as he needs the fees to pay for his staff upstairs! Unfortunately with a poor attitude, he then went on to question why were paying cash and why we did not take the Easy Care warranty(£400). Buying a car is stressful enough without trying to strong arm a customer into buying warranties without knowing the terms and conditions.

Recently, I bought a car from Perrys Blackburn. Just two weeks after purchasing it, I discovered there was a problem with the keys. As the car was still within the 28-day period from the purchase date, I contacted Perrys to report the issue.
Unfortunately, my concerns were completely ignored. I repeatedly tried to contact Matthew, the Service Manager, but he never returned my calls or even answered them. I received no assistance or communication regarding the problem I was experiencing with the car.
My experience has been very disappointing. The staff seemed helpful and friendly while I was buying the car, but once the sale was completed, I felt completely abandoned. Based on my experience, I would advise others to be cautious when purchasing from Perrys Blackburn.

I'd endorse Perrys Blackburn Mazda because they made me feel truly valued as a client. Tim Malpus was fantastic and I will highly recommend him to anyone!

I purchased a vehicle from my local dealer in 2023 - me being completely unaware the vehicle had a “wetbelt” and not once told when purchasing this vehicle it would need to be changed in 2024 as I would not have purchased this or requested it to be sorted before I purchased it, the vehicle has had its yearly services and now suffered wet belt failure at 40k miles.
Customer service had got back to me and informed me this is due at 6 years / 60,000 miles and then informed me it’s in the “Owners Manual” which there is no mention of Wetbelt only the service intervals which felt like they was trying to make me look stupid.
My local dealer who I purchased this vehicle from told me initially £1,500.00 for repair (the car has done 40k miles, 15k in my ownership)
I reached out to customer service to see if there was any sort of warranty due to the low miles on the vehicle and spoke to two separate operatives that told me it had “special warranty” on the wetbelt after giving my reg and my vehicle information.
Misleading from the start as I feel this was a complete lie to get me off the phone, customer service after a long process of needing every bit of information relating to my service history actually offered to step in and help out of “goodwill” when what is strange about this is I was CC’d into the email from the dealer to customer service showing that quote for repair of the Wetbelt only being £997 when I had been quoted £1,500.00- then I revive my good will quote which was 50% off and it came to the total of £879?? Which would be £1,758 which makes me question how much this repair actually is.
I appreciate the goodwill gesture, but the lack of trust from the constant changing in prices and information given makes me feel like I cannot trust anyone from this company, no questions are directly answered and avoided and it’s always the other person and not them.
I will NEVER buy a Vauxhall again, this was my third car and was planning on another next year but no way will I do that now due to this terrible service.

Just bought a Mazda CX 30from Perrys Blackburn. From first contact by phone, to final handover, the service from Stuart Dean was excellent. No pushy sales talk, just genuine professional service.

We had a good experience at Perry's Dover in selecting and purchasing a used car. Luke presented our options simply and without pressure to purchase. The car was ready when agreed and a subsequent small issue with the alloy wheels was dealt with promptly. We would not hesitate in recommending this garage for a used car purchase.
