Needs updating, but nice place.
The hotel and spa were nice, but needed updating in places. The conservatory where we had lunch could do with a refurbishment as the carpet was pretty worn and stained. The spa is lovely, but the flooring round the pool had started degrading and stuck to your feet, the slippers provided were not to be worn in the pool area so it was pretty awful having little stones sticking in your feet. Also the area around the steps was very grubby with water (the water station is there) and hairs on the floor, not a place you really want to be barefoot! The cups provided for the water were pathetic little while cones of paper, which crumpled easily and held hardly any water, it's so important to stay hydrated when you are using heat treatments, this really isnt good enough! The jacuzzi is not great, the jets are only aimed at mid back there were no others, just the one all the way round in the same area. The steam room, sauna and pool were lovely, and the sunbeds were really comfy. The lunch was great, the chicken club ciabatta was very tasty and the staff were lovely too. The highlight of my day was the spa treatment, Katie looked very professional and was extremely good at her job. I was really relaxed after my treatment 😌. However my husband had an OK - his words - hot stone massage with Sylvia, she had long hair past her shoulders which should have been tied back. I've no idea where she trained but as a former beauty lecturer she wouldn't have passed her course like that, very unprofessional indeed. I was giving them a mediocre 3 stars, but my treatment with Katie was so good they got 4.
