I'm sorry to say that I'm DONE with Neiman Marcus. This used to be my favorite store. I've spent so much money at Neiman's over the years 10's of thousands or dollars, but the online merchandising and customer service has deteriorated to such an extent that I'll never shop there again. What hasn't gone wrong? Orders canceled for no apparent reason, wrong merchandise sent, supposed gift cards earned that never arrive, but worst of all is the abominable online customer service: I've been spoken to rudely, blamed for problems that were clearly their fault (and in the end, who cares, as long as we can get things resolved), lied to that problems had been taken care which were not, leading to more time on hold with customer service while they "figure out" what to do. A great example: I ordered several cosmetic items in a single order. For some weird reason one was being sent to my house, and the other was being sent to a store (nowhere near where I live.) I called immediately. They said they would cancel the part of the order being sent to the store. A week later, I get an email that my item is "ready for pick-up." I call back to ask that they refund this item as I can't pick it up. We can't do that they say, you have to wait until it's "expired," and then you'll get a refund - I was also blamed for this, which is ridiculous - even if it had been a mistake on my end, does that justify being spoken to rudely and told they can't do anything about it? I told them I wasn't comfortable with leaving something I'd already paid for, on a shelf someplace to "expire" at a store I can't get to. Too bad, they say, there's nothing they can do about it. I call back the next day to talk with someone else who says they'll refund the item. Great! But no refund ever shows up. Another example, I order a pair of expensive earrings. I follow the tracking and see after a week that there's been no movement after the shipping label is printed (always a bad sign) so I call to report this as a red-flag and a problem. The person I speak to says he'll cancel the order and issue a refund. Two weeks later, the package shows up, empty (it'd been broken into and contents stolen - I have a doorman at my building so packages aren't left unattended.) I then called immediately to make sure the order had been canceled and the refund issued, just in case. Surprise, no, it hadn't been canceled as I'd been told, nor a refund issued (we don't do that, they say, despite the fact that I was TOLD that was what they were going to do), so I spend another 30 minutes on hold while they once again figure out what to do. Now I have to wait to make sure that this "case" is "resolved" such that I get a refund. I told them that as far as I was concerned, it WAS resolved, the item was stolen, and I should be issued a refund - what happens with FedEx at this point is THEIR problem, and shouldn't be mine.
I'm so sick and tired of this. I'm done. I do not recommend the online store due to the infuriating experiences I've repeatedly had in the last 6 months with their customer service - what the heck happened?
Physical locations and buying in person would be a completely different experience of course, and if they had decent customer service, even with the problems (which, let's face it, are ubiquitous these days), I'd stay a loyal customer, but it's so sketchy and the agents are so misinformed, lying and being rude, that I can't give them my business any longer. A high end store like Neiman Marcus, AT THE VERY LEAST, should offer top of the line customer service. I can't trust them. Saks and Nordstrom to get all my future business. At least their customer service agents are polite, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and most importantly HELPFUL.

One of the worst stores I have ever shopped at. The customer service is lousy and a waste of money and time. I bought a jacket that I paid for with a gift card. I bought it over the phone because their website was not working. The experience of buying the jacket was good, the woman was nice and took good care of me. However, they cancelled the order about two days later due to lack of stock, I called customer service and that's where the worst starts, the first guy who answered my call told me that they would send me the refund by email. That email never arrived, I inform him that I never received the email, he gives me a number to call, I call that number and there they tell me that they have cancelled my order due to lack of stock, I inform them that I need to know how I will receive my refund and when, they connect me with another number and tell me again about the email, this process lasts 1 hour. Then I wrote through the chat and after 4 different agents closed the chat, they inform me that I will receive my refund by mail in 8-10 weeks!?!!!!!!?, two hours of my time wasted for them to tell me that I have to wait 10 more weeks, ridiculous.

Customer service online was barely helpful, on the phone it kept disconnecting so that was no help at all. It is upsetting that after spending $800 on this purchase and receiving a wrong item I was prompted to return this item and place a new order fronting another $1000 for a second order. Why would I want to end up spending $1800 in hopes to get the right item the second time around and hoping for a timely refund? Overall it is less trouble to order elsewhere, customer service is meh, they’ll just point you to the website. I ended up spending more time trying to get an exchange (unsuccessfully) than I spent on initial purchase. Big waste of time for nothing. I will not be shopping there again, easier to buy directly from brands.

I love Neiman Marcus everything. Don't know what I would do without it. I have 2 teens to buy for-what would I do without Neiman Marcus. Hope they stay in business forever. Also you get some great sales on major brands. Only problem I have lately is their website trying to order.

I ordered a jacket for my wedding on Sunday night. There was 1 left in stock and it was on a large discount (from $4K to $1K). Told my fiance and groomsmen who began planning around it, and then 3 days later Neimann cancelled the order with no explanation. I called in and they said someone else had inexplicably ordered "at the same exact time" as I had, 3 days prior. Sorry but that story just does not make sense. They then offered me 15% off my next item as an apology, which is exactly the same discount I used on my first order that isn't getting delivered, so they literally gave us nothing for this massive inconvenience. Very much looking forward to watching their brand burn in the ashes of history.

Ordered sunglasses as a gift for my wife. The box showed up with an empty case, no $400 sunglasses. Ok, it happens. We get put through the third degree by online customer service (really cant blame them) they assure us another one is being sent out right away. Just got an "automatic charge" for the full amount of the original again... NEVER AGAIN

Ordered on 8/5, afterward I received an email stating it was backordered. No updates. I called today to inquire about status none available. I complained and within hours they emailed me cancelling my order. This is the 4th terrible customer service incident with NM. I'm never shopping here again. I wish I read reviews first but silly me I assumed NM was a luxury store. Unbelievable.

Very bad. No wonder other people feel the same way. I've got a defective leather L'Agence jacket which was originally $1595 (but I doubt it) on sale for $406.19 total, I texted them with the pictures and they sent me shipping label. I shipped it back immediately Monday

8/12/2023 and still refused to process my refund! The lady in the chat told me they need more time since they have another orders. Sorry but is this my fault? You sent me an expensive jacket which look like it's been worn before. I need my money back! Absolutely disappointing. I have an experience with return of defective item in another company and they've refunded me as soon as I shipped it back without any questions.

I was ordering portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle this Customer Service lady she went beyond and a path to help me out. She is absolutely completely and positively 1000% very helpful for Professional person I ever spoke on the phone she was helping me to send a present for my sister, which is she live in Texas she make it so easy so simple when I talk to her 100% I trusted her and I gave her my credit card number and everything it went smooth easy simple and I want to tell to the upper management of Nieman Marcus issues. Should be proud to have employee like . AYSEGUL I live in San Francisco through the phone. I had the best experience in my life. I will never forget this lady until the rest of my life had a professionalism had a helpfulness her honesty and dignity. Worst online customer service. Tried to chat with online CS. First agent - Lizza- was assigned after 4 minutes of waiting. (3.22 entered into chat, 3.26 pm agent was assigned, 3.29 no reply from the agent).
2 nd attempt today 3.33 pm entered into chat, they said waiting time is 2 minutes, but IN REALITY I had to wait for almost 30 minutes before an agent - Cesar -was assigned at 4.00 pm. After asking my details, the line was cut off! it is insane

I just went in my local NM to purchase my favorite lip gloss. As I was checking out, the credit care machine asked me if "I wanted to donate to LGBTQ+ to support human rights"! Are you kidding me! With all the other legitimate charities in the world this is what you are asking your clients to donate towards. I find this repulsive and offensive, you have lost a client and I will be fighting and supporting everything against this woke agenda, perhaps you should understand your client base before doing this.
How are they still in business
Experiencing back-to-back orders with extensive shipping delays made me initially think I was just unlucky. However, upon reading through numerous reviews here, I came to realize that these delays, lack of reliability and efficiency seem to be a common practice for Neiman Marcus. I genuinely wish I had come across these reviews prior to making any purchases from them. I am still hoping that eventually I will receive the packages I ordered, since they're not giving me any refund or solutions.
This place follows the motto of "more money, more problems." Please spend your money elsewhere.

I have ordered from Neiman before without a problem. Not sure what happened to them. I ordered ONE item on 5/31/23. It was a gift that I wanted to give to someone on 6/11/23. Shipping said 3-5 days with expected delivery date of 6/8/23. When I log onto my account to check the status, it shows no order history; yet also shows “order in progress” when I input the order number as a guest on the website.
I reached out via text on 6/2/23 just to make sure everything was okay since their site showed it pending but no order history. I spoke to a representative who told me not to worry and that my item is about to be shipped. At that point, I should see the status update and appear in my order history.
As of 6/6/23 there were no updates or movement so I reached out again via text and spoke to a representative who said they had a slight delay but my item is ready for shipment. He also told me that he would refund me $30 for the inconvenience. I explained that I expected the item to come by 6/8/23 as it was a gift, so he said that he would contact the merchandising department and ask them to expedite my shipment. He said that overall, I should receive an email in 24 hours confirming the $30 refund plus something indicating the expediting request.
Today, 6/7/23, no email. I finally started googling NM shipping delays and that’s when I found all of these reviews on this website as well as other sites/forums. All reviews are saying the same thing about their poor shipping.
I went on Nordstrom’a website and saw that I can order the same item today and it will be delivered on 6/10/23 (which would still make it on time for me) or I can order online and pick it up at a nearby Nordstrom.
I reached out to NM via chat and asked for my order to be canceled. I was told they would put in a request for it to be canceled but I had to wait 3 days for a response on if it was canceled or not. I decided to call instead. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite, thorough, and professional buttttt my issue could not be resolved. He claimed my package was already labeled and possibly already provided to FedEx; but they just may not have scanned it yet to be placed in route to me. He said the cancelation request should have a response by 6/9/23 but if I don’t receive the response, I will receive an email with the shipping information instead by 6/9/23. So, if I go through Nordstrom, I will potentially be paying for the same item twice (if NM can’t cancel); and will then have to wait for my item to arrive from NM and go through the hassle of returning it.
Reading the stories about FedEx “delivering” the package when nothing was actually delivered has me skeptical about doing anything else until my cancellation is hopefully confirmed. Although I have security cameras all around my home, who knows what type of scams they have going on.

Sade made my day!! Today is my birthday and I wanted to do some online shopping but has issues with the website. Sade was very professional and assisted with the issue until it was fully resolved. I would highly recommend Sade as is very very prompt and quick. Some online agents are not as quick and often misunderstand issue, but Sade is a great communicator and left my shopping experience enjoyable!! I will definitely keep shopping at Neiman Marcus as they offer excellent customer service and assist to clients until they are fully satisfied!!!
