Bought a Neato D9 back in April

Bought a Neato D9 back in April. I had several Neatos in the past and all had battery issues.
I’ve used multiple robot compansies over the years…Roomba, Scooba, Bissel, Mint, Wyze…currently I have 2 Wyze and a Roomba, plus this Neato. Only the Neatos ever have problems.
The robot worked from April until around August. Then the robot is dead as a door nail and won’t even light up.
I contacted Neato-over and over. Customer service had me trouble shoot the robot multiple times.
They then had me find a box to send it back. A “new one” shows up and this one too has problems. It will light up but doesn’t hold a charge. I have moved it to multiple places through the house INCLUDING places that my other vacs charge….it doesn’t work. Customer service wanted a picture of
the current charge place and tried to tell me it doesn’t fit the criteria…but it does. I honestly think they are trying to run the warranty out by wasting time.
I asked if there was some type of lemon law regarding this and said they refuse to take it back. I’m stumped. I’m stuck with a $500 door holder, because it’s not able to function

Terrible to deal with

Terrible to deal with. It’s a very expensive item for what it does and you’d expect they would have a decent way of dealing with issues. Their solution is arms length at best.

I would not recommend buying from them.

My new Neato d9 is scratching my hardwood floors. I contacted customer service. They won’t provide support and it’s not on any of their warranty coverages since it was purchased new through eBay. Disappointed that the company won’t back their products especially when the product is new.

I don't recommend this people

My Neato Botvac Connected is not working with its original battery. The only answer from these peope was to get a new battery. They did not give me a way for my robot to keep working with its own and original battery. In addition, it's quite expensive for such an old robot, and nobody can assure it will work, maybe the robot/battery decides to stop working, as it happened with my current battery.

I don't recommend this brand to anybody. The devices are good (I was happy with my robot, and I was considering Neato to get a new one). But the customer service is terrible.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! TERRIBLE

I bought 2 hoovers from Neato and the robots themselves were great, but one stopped working about 6 months into having it.

Trying to reach customer service is harder than trying to directly speak to the president of America!!!

You wouldn't believe how hard it is, they sell the robots with a 5 year warranty but that means nothing if you cant touch base with anyone to sort.

After months of trying to gain help for my hoover, writing on their facebook page, finally caught someones attention and we went back and forth via email trying to fix the hoover with instructions being given to me, at one point some instructions were similar to, put a tutu on, dance around the room, do 7 squats and then recite a poem in italien, the instructions they give you are completely complicated and useless and i'm sure just trying to palm you off.

Finally after a few months they agreed to have my hoover back for repair. Which i sent off. I was without my hoover for months and when it finally did return after endless chasing, it came back exactly the same??

Trying again to speak to someone was beyond stressful, after 3 months they finally agreed to replace it, so i organised with UPS to send my broken hoover back, a week later UPS came and i was excited to finally have a new working hoover, they had just returned my broken one? It was in the same packaging i had sent, they had just stuck a label on with my address and returned it???

Again, trying to speak to someone to get any resolution is impossible.

Although the hoover itself is fab, do not buy as if you need any support, it doesn't exist!!! Go elsewhere

Terrible ! Fundamental design flaw ! Neato support awful; Thank God for Amazon support & returns !!!

Bought a Neato D10 - probably the worst purchase of my entire life ever !
Fundamental design flaw means the front of the robot has less than zero ground clearance !
As a result, the robot was grinding itself flat on our floor and ultimately scratched it.
I raised a support case and was brushed off with the reply that either the sole plate was incorrectly fitted (it was not) or our floor was uneven (it isn't - it's about as level as a floor can get as we had entire ground floor dug up and relaid with new cement with a layer of self-levelling latex during renovations a couple years back).
So Neato’s response was then “oh well, bye” !!!
Thankfully Amazon’s fantastic customer support were very helpful and arranged for a return & refund.
To say I am disappointed with Neato is an understatement - if you're considering buying one of these, I would suggest NOT giving Neato Robotics any of your hard earned cash !!!

Bad product and service.

Bad product and service.

Expensive product. Lasted for 2,5 years and now one of wheels are not working. The suggested solution is to send the product from Denmark to Sweden and get it repaired on own cost. Expensive product, bad quality and extremely bad service. Keep away from this company.

Save yourself the trouble, really.

We ordered a Neato D7 Botvac from CoolBlue a little under a year ago. It worked well connected to Wi-Fi for about half a year until it suddenly stopped connecting. After a few months of trying again and again to reconnect, we decided to ask Neato's customer service for help, since the product is still under warranty.

They made us do a few tests, and when that wouldn't work, they told us to send it to them to have it repaired. Note that that there was never any mention of possible costs. So we sent it to them.

After a while we received an email with a cost estimate and two options: either they dispose of our almost €400 product cost free (thanks, I guess?), or we'll get it back after paying the fees for them looking at it + shipping, which is over €40. Also they won't be repairing it, no matter which option we choose. The reason? Water damage. Like one of the reviewers below me.

Now as far as we know, the vacuum has never been in contact with water, so how could that be? Also, why is a €379 product so fragile that it will break after the slightest contact with water or dampness?

I wish we'd done more research before buying, as for example Amazon is also full of negative reviews for both the Neato products and their customer service.

I normally never write reviews, but this is ridiculous. My advice is to save yourself the trouble and the money and go for another brand.

I bought a Neato D7 in July 2020

I bought a Neato D7 in July 2020. Initially when I purchased it had to return it within 2 weeks as it was squeaking constantly. The next replacement unit lasted about 6 months before it kept disconnecting from the wi-fi and behaving erratically.
The company insisted on sending it off for repair (which took nearly 6 weeks). When it came back it lasted 2 weeks. Thankfully (after a lot of complaining) they completely replaced the unit and that lasted 1 month before the bumper broke and it started behaving erratically (again).
I contacted the company again and they say they are going to replace the unit again. I asked about compensation and was told no chance and that there was no official way to complain to the company.
This company's products (in my experience) are shoddy, poorly made, with zero longevity. It is currently easier to use a manual vacuum than a D7.
I have invested £800's into this D7 and it has worked maybe 10% of the time. If I could get my money back I would When I asked about a free upgrade (considering the issues I have had with the D7 I feel this was fair) they told me no chance. So now I am stuck in a bizarre loop where the product keeps not working and then breaking, they replace it but I can't get my money back or get an upgrade from this terrible product.
Avoid this company and all Neato products, buy a decent manual vacuum cleaner and enjoy a stress free life!

Huge waste of money and time

I had a Neato Botvac Connected (1st generation), which had worked just fine for 5 years. I wanted to buy an upgraded version with the Neato D7 series special for pets, to have a bit more control in terms of mapping function (to set virtual walls on the Neato App to avoid the robot getting stuck) for a bit more money. I have an indoor fluffy cat, who is the main cause of domestic dirtiness (hairs, vomit, litter stones...) and the Botvac had done quite an amazing job in keeping the floors cleaned from the cat's mess. So I thought I had made a smart purchase with the D750, should be just as bulletproof...
But it was a disaster. It never worked properly from the beginning and I lost hours in troubleshooting the robot. It had some connectivity issues right from the beginning. It would just stop its cleaning job at random, losing its wifi connection. I reset several times the wifi connection, but it never solved the issue for more than a day at a time. So I ended up starting piloting the robot with manual clean settings, instead of having daily scheduled cleaning jobs like I used to do with the Botvac version. Even then the robot would stop many times. Even though it was not performant, I took extra care in doing the daily and extra maintenance of the robot, since in the end I invested quite a lot of money in it. Being busy with full time job, I thought I would deal eventually with the client service later for that connectivity issue. Until the robot stopped turning on for good and would not charge anymore. After exchanging e-mails with Neato client service and doing the troubleshooting I had done nth time but failed, I was finally invited to send back the robot to the repair center. I took a day off to ship it with extra care in its original box.
Well... all that care, time and money was basically a waste. The repair center found a liquid damage on the electronic parts of the robot and informed me that the robot was irreparable and go for environmental-friendly waste disposal. The warranty from Neato, conveniently, does not cover such damage of course and it is very hard to prove that I did nothing wrong in maintaining this robot. Even though I never recall spilling liquid on it.. not even for fun. But maybe you know... "it might have passed over a spill of water on the floor that was accidentally there and sucked a bit of liquid in places it shouldn't be" (I have been told by the client service). I wonder then how come a robot is so badly designed that its electronic parts are not protected from sucking a bit of liquid in the first place.
So long story short... No repair, no replacement and no refund. Just a waste of money and time, right from the beginning. Lesson learned Neato: you and me never again!

Should have bought a roomba

Should have bought a roomba

Device is alright when it works but frequently stops working, the last time it stopped working it had to go back for repair. The repair report said that the motor had broken due to excessive hair, I contacted Neato about this and asked them to cover the motor for 5 years (A fair amount of time for an electrical device) and was told no.

Neato has a design flaw that allows hair to get to the unit's motor and gum it up, their solution was to clean the brush whilst the unit was running.

Excellent product

Though I understand people use this site mostly to complain, I have to say I've owned a Neato D6 for more than 2 years now and it has performed really well throughout, in a large and complicated space. The robot is very efficiently programmed, covers about 120 m2 in about 1h 15, hardly ever doubling back on itself, and finds its way around furniture very efficiently. It does an excellent vacuuming job on my hard floors (I don't have carpets so I don't know how well it does on those), including edges and corners. I have used it heavily and have had no reliability issues. This is my first vacuuming robot and it has definitely exceeded my expectations.

Extortion for customer service

Extortion for customer service and repairs - will cost you 75£ to send to their subcontractors to diagnose the issue before the cost of repairs - so approximately half the price of a new one. This is unacceptable given the right to repair law come into force since the 8th of July 2020 which should allow us to go to any repair company rather than be obliged to go to the subcontractors who are clearly milking the situation as they have a monopoly.

Mine drove off of the stairs.

Mine drove off of the stairs.

I contacted Neato, as although it is out of warranty, it is clearly a product defect and therefore covered under the Sale of Goods Act.

I was told this was being escalated, that was 2 weeks ago.

I am now trying to take them to small claims court but they do not have a UK address and have no interest in helping.

Spare yourself the trouble and don't get one in the first place. Terrible customer service and a terrible company.

Never buying a Neato unit again!

Unit cleans well - when it does.

However, the software is half baked. I have spent days, literally(!), having the unit scan entire floors again and again, because the unit didn't seem to be able to capture usable floor plans.

The kicker, however, is that almost three months ago the unit just refused to run, anymore. So, I opened a case to have it repaired.

Sending the unit was a hassle. I can live with that.

Getting it back, though - well, so far the latest(!) opened thread on the case is, now, 25 emails, and the unit has been declared ready and delivery promised over and over again so many times, I have lost count. I have been patient all along. 'Till today. Enough!
Nothing has panned out, so far. It's crazy. To be quite honest, I am not, totally, convinced, I'll ever see the unit again. The utter cluster...you-know-what...that this has been, I don't know, that I would be reimbursed, either.

I am dumbfounded, Neato has even survived as a company, 'till now, the way they do business.

Absolutely terrible machine

Absolutely terrible machine - the mapping system needs constantly updating / battery life is poor and after a few months the suction starts to go!
I am on my 3rd machine now and it's just terrible - I'm getting fed up of having them sent back for repair and then having a new one, only for the new one to break and then I am without the machine for a few weeks whilst they repair it - inevitably though I end up with a new machine as they can not be repaired. 6 months use is very poor for an expensive machine!
