I never write reviews but this one is warranted. I purchased a Maschine mikro 3 brand new! Specifically because of the software that was included. When I tried to register my new product it said that the serial number had already been used. So as a first time user after unboxing a new product I was forced to contact them for support. After waiting for almost half an hour with little communication, they finally amended my serial number but then left before they fully resolved my issue! He just said goodbye and left! I didn't receive all of my free software! Very disappointed 🤦🏾‍♂️

Really gone downhill

Really gone downhill. Lost my custom for good.

In migrating instruments to Kontakt 7 and breaking them from working in Kontakt 6 you have broken every piece of work created prior to Kontakt 7. Are you doing the same with K8? It doesn't matter if we upgrade, what you haven't considered is that for us to migrate compositions from K6 to K7 we can't do it because with either have to downgrade the instruments to even just open the compositions so that we can see/save the instrument settings and then we have to re upgrade them in order to virtually recreate the composition in the 'next' version of Kontakt. Do you have any idea of the pain and work you have dropped on your customers? Add to that, where is the ability to submit a problem on your website for customers that have paid a lot of money for you products? And the AI chat is just a joke (like all AI). Now I shall make sure that instruments don't use Kontakt if this is how you are going to stitch us up. Absolutely foolish. By breaking every project that needed the 'older' versions you have created a huge amount of work.

Once upon a time, this was a great company

Once upon a time, this was a great company. Now, nothing works and innovation is non-existent. Simply trying to install the products you own is an exercise in frustration. Native Access - required to manage and install your products - has been a bug-riddled mess for 10+ years now. Products are constantly "lost", installing products is hit-and-miss, and when something inevitably goes wrong, there's nothing you can do to fix it. Products you own thus become unusable. The only way I've been able to fix things is to wipe Windows and reinstall everything from scratch. But at some point, something else will inevitably break and you are back to square one.

A case study of how private equity investments ruin companies. There's no product know-how, all the compentent developers have been fired, and consumers are left with an empty shell of bug-riddled jank.

Been a customer since 2006 18 years

Been a customer since 2006 18 years, loads of £200 vsti instruments, all classed as legacy now no longer to use them, my audio 8 is no longer supported still works perfect with my old 2012 mac, same with my other sound cards spent 1000s with them things like my kore2 are all just dead now, still all in perfect condition, just bought a brand new S3 and didnt get the traktor 4 software when I spoke with support the guy accused me of buying the S3 2nd hand, once he looked and spotted that it had just been registered he gave in and provided T4 pro, years I have used their software for production and Djing and all im left with is nothing, dead paper weights, people love using old kit and vsti sort it out Native you were great with inspiring equiment and software, reason for my reveiw today the S3 cross fader is faulty the unit is just cheap and built to a price point.

Guess I have to be a sheep now and go to Pioneer like the rest, I'm not even going to speak about how a decade of playlists and files were lost because its heart breaking all gone lost because of a crap update.

They helped me last year.Solved my issues very quickly but there is no customer service anymore, only a chat.I got help straight away though but it turned out that my old version of Reaktor will not work on Win10.I paid for it so you should make it work. This is what others sellers do.But all NI wants is your money to buy a newer version
I've invested into their products a lot of my money. Not anymore. They lost a customer.

Big problems with sound libraries

The sounds are pretty good for some, the BIG problem is the support. Horrible! By email only and it takes days! The system with Native Access is not efficient. On their support page it says you can relocate all sound banks at once but the button in their screenshot is not even in the app. When I have to move the libraries or install on another computer I waste a few days on that, even a week if I need an answer from support! In my mind it would be simple if Native access only has to know where the samples are but it seems that is not the case, it complicates everything. Also in Kontakt, it's even worse. I relocated the sound libraries but it won't load and won't even show the icons it just shows a folder. They sometimes load as demos when I purchased the whole Complete Ultimate package. I would have to redownload the 190 sound libraries from the web to reinstall (770GB!) when I already have them in an external drive... All it needs to do is sync. What a waste of my time.

Native Instruments has become a pain

Native Instruments has become a horrible experience. Their Native Access app does not work and they are terrible at helping you. I have asked for help several times. I haven't gotten any. This has made me think, twice and not buy any instruments or VST's that has to do with them. I am guessing lots of people are getting the same reaction. If they don't fix this problem, they will lose a whole lot of business. as for now, restrain yourself from buying anything that has to do with kontakt. Their software is not working properly, and they will not help you with the issue. They do not give a damn!

Native Instruments does not come with any support

Native Instruments decided to drop S88 Mk1 support silently in 2023 which is the start of a nightmare and daily frustration:

After a software update via Native Access, the keyboard stopped working completely. No warning, no message, nothing. Finally I found on the NI forum that an old version of Komplete Kontrol can be installed and newer plugins which requires Kontakt 7 are no longer supported. A hell to sell this keyboard as nobody wants to buy a deprecated keyboard. I put it in the garbage bin which is a waste of 1000 Euro's.

I was so stupid to buy a S88 Mk3 keyboard for another 1200 Euro's. When opening the box, a firmware update must be performed which generates a general error and completely stuck. I contacted the webshop to return under RMA. However, got it up and running and next problem started.

REAPER DAW integration is completely missing. They are pointing to another hobby project, but is not supported by Native Instruments.

REAPER crashes when loading Komplete Kontrol v3.2.0 / v3.2.1. This problem was already reported in November 2023 without any progress. Kontakt crashed REAPER as well, but has been fixed in the meantime. I've created a fully reproducible testcase and problem was confirmed by NI under KBDSW-7859. Zero progress for 7 months and still waiting.

I'm still pushing for a bugfix in Komplete Kontrol as the S88 Mk3 keyboard is useless without it. I contacted email support, a various number of forum threads, private messages to NI support, chat, all WITHOUT any success.

Then I read on the NI forum: REAPER is not support and finally via email support that they "intend" to fix the bug, but not for this quarter. With other words: You are at your own and I can maybe wait forever.

This is their way of support to solve user problems and making customers extremely upset.

I spend a huge amount of money on NI hardware and software products in the past 10 years which worked fine with REAPER, now I do not get any support.

I'm now preparing a legal claim as Native Instruments is not willing to help me fixing this critical bug.

Do not buy Native products, if you have problems and need to use your legitimate right to warranty they will pass you by like s**t, I have a 1000 euro product, exactly a Maschine + paperweight because it has had a system failure and Native only gives you send useless links to waste your time, seriously, don't waste your money

Word of advice

Word of advice. If you are using Logic 10.8.1 on a new silicon Mac running Sonoma 14.5 and intend to migrate to or install anything NI, check out the NI Community pages first for the plethora of issues and compatibility problems with NI's products (esp. Kontakt) and Apple. NI do not appear to be doing anything to address these issues other than to deflect the blame. Strongly suggest you wait until they have caught up with Apple before you buy anything NI.

Absolutely no way to get in touch with…

Absolutely no way to get in touch with support. All I'm trying to do is checkout with a $200 purchase on their online store. I have a limited amount of time to grab the deal and by the time anyone gets back to me it will be gone.

This is the SECOND time this has happened in 30 days. I've invested into their products over the years, but clearly the bottom has dropped out at this company and they are a lost cause.
