Waiting on a refund for a V12 V2…

Waiting on a refund for a V12 V2 subwoofer which went faulty with a common unfixable amp issue and opted for a refund since I am in UK and already purchased an alternative replacement. Original request was mid Dec 2025, been going back and forth since with excuses around IBAN bank details not correct etc etc. Provided alternative bank details with are correct on 19th Feb 2026 and have heard nothing apart from the waiting on the accounting team! I'll be seeking a refund from my credit card company if this does not get resolved.

Good product and customer service

I write this review because I read many very bad reviews about Monoprice, which did make me hesitate. Fortunately, I did end up at ordering two of its Blackbird HDMI 8x8 Matrix Switchers. My experience has been a very positive one, from the email advice up to the ordering and delivery, a flawless experience like you wish to have at every online saleshouse.
I can’t understand why people are writing so much bad stuff about this company. It just seems completely unrelated to my experience. I definitely can recommend Monoprice.
The Blackbird is an awesome switcher, unlike many cheap Chinese offers, this one offers true 4K60 4:4:4, well the gear real pros are looking for. The device itself is build like a tank. Not only do you get 8x HDMI IN and 8x HDMI out, but you also get 8x mini TRS stereo out and 8x RCA Cinch mono out.

Horrible company, bad customer service.

Ordered a 5x100 amp on 11.25.2025 as of today 12.17.2025 the status still says packed.. The item says in stock so not sure what the deal is..
I contacted customer service around 12.05.25 they said the package should be ready in 24/48hrs but to check back on 12.15.25 if the status hasn't been updated.
I reached out again on 12.15 and still crickets. I'm about to cancel and order with Emotivia.

Look at ALL the NEGATIVE FB they have on ALL Social Media Sites, 4 A Reason.

There's a reason why this company has SO MANY negative FB on ALL social media sites. STAY AWAY. I used to buy regularly from monoprice offices when I had my old business years ago but stopped due to the constant bad C/S, refund/return/item/Shipment issues. YEARS later, I figured I'd give them another chance. 2 orders in & already having issues. I emailed them 3 times B4 I ordered, within the week using 2 different emails, got NO response. I tired again yesterday. No response. I read on their q/a that this expensive cable used behind the wall so I ordered it with other items. 2 hours later after the order, TheyI FINALLY saying cable I ordered is no good for my needs & recommended another one that was the same price. I called in to have it SWAPPED since it's only 2 hours into the order & same price. Lady told me i have to CANCEL my ENTIRE order & REorder from scratch as I didn't want her DOUBLE DIPPING in my acct & asked for EVEN swap being it's the same price plus this is what email asked me to do, so I called. She cancelled ENTIRE order. I asked for PROOF of cancelation. She couldn't send me proof of cancelation she says. I asked for supervisor. She said NO supervisor, I asked for manager, NO manager either. Trying to return or refuse order once mailed causes MONTHS of issues as I learned this the HARD way with this company in the past PLUS others on here reviewing recently went through this as well. If I am NOT the only one going through such a HASSLE, So what does that tell U? This is a disorganized, SLOW poorly run company & MIND U, they will tell u whatever to get an item sold. Just look on Google to see all the Same Negative FB they have doing the SAME thing, even years later. NOW i gotta deal with them charging me all this money to send me what was supposedly cancelled when all I needed was an even swap during a 2 hour order time when they tell u to CALL to do this, BUT they can't help, plus i can't get anyone with RANK to speak to either cause of course they don't wanna deal with the customer to tell them we are out of luck & have to deal with this.

Don't waste your money on Monoprice crap.

Had contacted Monoprice about a replacement for a defective Premier series 25' xlr cable that they advertise as lifetime warranty. Supplied them with the original receipt from Rakuten.com and they then said to go through Rakuten.com for the replacement. After numerous attempts and emails with Rakuten.com, Rakuten said to go back to Monoprice for the replacement. I then forwarded that email to Monoprice and have never had a response since. Don't waste any of your money on Monoprice cheap bull crap warranty products as they are refusing to honor their lifetime warranty coverage.

I placed an order online and cancelled…

I placed an order online and cancelled it 15 minutes later by calling in. They assured me that it was cancelled. Next day I get FedEx tracking numbers. I called FedEx and they said it was never cancelled. I refused delivery and it was sent back to them. Monoprise emailed me assuring that they issued a refund on 05/06/2025. They even sent a refund slip. I never received refund today is 05/20/2025 and I disputed transaction with AMEX. Monoprise is not only unprofessionals but they also do not tell the truth. Flight by night outfit to say the least.

...don't buy anything from these scammers. If you want to buy something, the price for the same item changes three times in one hour. Then I finally bought the item at a reasonable price and paid with PayPal. They also confirmed the order and sent me the invoice. Suddenly, they canceled everything and transferred the money back. These are complete scammers. By issuing the invoice, they entered into a contract with me that they then refused to fulfill. But what can you expect from people who elect such a president in their country?

The most dubious company I've ever encountered. I also reported it to PayPal, and they want to take care of it.
I don't know why I should even give this a star;
they're simply scammers!!!

They gave bogus shipping information. On there tracking my order showed delivered, Two things USPS does not and never have delivered orders outside of regular hours. USPS tracking shows awaiting package from shipper. Also our building locks at 6 pm and no one can het in. Monoprice use to be a good company now it stinks. Customer support is horrible and worthless, They need to clean house and get rid of many agents. Also show no concern in making their screw up right and givibg it priority. You folks at Monoprice should be ashamed at the poor job and lack of concern.

So far it's been 3 orders that never…

So far it's been 3 orders that never got shipped and delivered. This company was great before but now is just awful. Several times dealing with customer service and now for my last third order they are refusing to fully refund it. I have to go through my bank dispute to resolve it.

Defective products

I purchased a subwoofer, front center speaker, and two surround speakers. Two of the four speakers failed at 2.5 years. That's no coincidence. It suggests defective products. Now I'm out a half a grand cash for buying from a poor quality company. Don't repeat my mistake. Buy another brand.

Terrible Customer Service

I purchased a special HDMI cable for an upcoming new TV installation. I paid extra for expedited shipping and since their website said it was in stock I figured I would receive it in 2-3 business days, as indicated by the shipping method I chose. Two weeks later, it had still not arrived and so I bought a different cable locally at a higher cost. The original cable eventually did arrive, after nearly 3 weeks. I no longer needed it and I requested a return RMA. No response. I requested an RMA 2 more times over the next 10 days. Still no response. I then disputed the charge with my credit card company. Shortly after that, Monoprice emailed me an RMA and I returned the unopened package. Monoprice never did give me credit for the return but my cc company ruled in my favor and I was credited with the full amount I originally paid. I have bought things from Monoprice over the years but never again. Had it not been for my cc company intervention I'm sure I would still be dealing with this headache.

Buyer Beware of Return Shipping Fees

Buyers beware if you choose to return a product that remains in its original shipping box and unopened. You...let me repeat that...you will be responsible for the cost to send the package(s) back to Monoprice. I bought a desk and stand for a little under $500. The cost to return the two parcels is more than the cost of the product. The Monoprice agent says that this policy is contained within the Monoprice Return Policy. I've read that document line-by-line more than three times. If it's there then it is a verbal abstraction. No, I will never ever do business with this company again. Not ever. And again be forewarned. Evaluate the shipping cost vs. the product cost. You may end up like me stuck with a product I don't want but have to keep because the cost to return the item via UPS ground is more than the product itself.

Decent product, terrible logistics, mediocre service

I ordered some HDMI cables, the products themselves were good, and so far have met my expectations. This is a 2 star review for their shipping and customer service. I paid for expedited shipping 2-3 business days. It arrived after 10 business days. I contacted them multiple times during this and was told they have made a lost package claim with USPS and I should here from USPS soon. I never heard from USPS, and when I checked the tracking it was never lost it just sat in their warehouse for 4 or 5 days before it was even checked in with USPS. Before the package arrived but well after it was already late, they offered me a partial refund of the shipping cost once the lost package claim was completed. When the package had finally arrived, and I still hadn't heard from USPS, I contacted them again for the 4th or 5th time. This time I apparently was lucky enough to reach some one with some authority or empathy I'm not sure, but they finally refunded me for the cost of the expedited shipping and nothing else. So, I would not purchase from them again unless I want to pay top dollar for a decent product and have it arrive kind of whenever they feel like shipping it, and deal with the less than enthusiastic/helpful customer service.

Fraudsters

Over and over again, my Monoprice cables fail after just a few months. They claim to have a lifetime warranty, but they don't honor it. They just ignore customer emails so you can never get anything replaced. So far I had 3 iPhone Lightning charging cables fail in under 6 months and they replaced none of them. Most recently I had an HDMI cable fail after just 4 months and they blew me off there too. Monoprice are FRAUDSTERS. I won't buy any of their products ever again.
