Used to be fantastic now not so

Used to be fantastic. Now need to pay to post more than 10 mixes - this i can understand. But with Pro/creator fee you are limited in how you can listen to mixes. You used to be able to flick forward through a mix, this has been taken away. So for £70 a year you can not even flick forward in a mix.
Also customer service did not read my query and gave a generic reply that completely did not answer my question.
Very disappointed and many reasons to leave the platform for a well known other

Dreadful customer support

Dreadful customer support. 7 times my upload has been deleted with no explanation as to why, email sent to support and received nothing. No way of actually talking to anyone on the phone, there is no chat facility either. Very quick to take your money for Pro but support after that is crap. Be my last year with this awful company.

It's now been five months and they…

It's now been five months and they continue to not fix the problem that is keeping me from uploading shows. What's the purpose of using this platform to upload shows if they don't fix it when you can't upload shows?

Their customer service is garbage and the app is broken 99% of the time

I can't cancel my subscription

I paid for a month's subscription and forgot about it I now have had 3 or more payments come out of my bank and I can't cancel I even rang my bank about it and they say they will try and cancel it there end and as mixcloud has my details they may still take the money from my account. I have followed everything it says on mixcloud page it doesn't work so if they end up taking another payment I will have to block my card and get a new one. Don't sign up they make it so hard to cancel

Know we stream via a radio platform

Know we stream via a radio platform. Can someone please explain how we avoid the site resetting our stream. This then resets our listening count. To not do it for days, and then do it 3 times in 1day. Just be useful to know how to prevent it, or cause it to reset during a specific period

Free trial was left running for several…

Free trial was left running for several months, my mistake of course. But I didn't use it at all. Charged for it all. Asked polielty for it back and just got a generic "not our policy to refund" reply. How about " ok we can offer you this deal instead for a year sub" - something that would make an effort to keep customers happy. Aside the fact that soundcloud (which is also not doing well) is a million times better, not being able to save the video is pointless. Not sure what audio format it plays back at either, it doesn't say. Sounds like 64kps at times. I would avoid using this site and stick with others, there's many to choose from and Mixcloud offers a below average service. I wonder how much cut from royalties they are taking also!

Update on my Mixcloud review from Dec 7, 2021. They've fallen from a 3 star to a 2 star expereince.

WHO CARES IF YOU'RE THE ONLY PLATFORM POSTING LEGAL MIXES OF COPY WRITTEN MATERIAL IF NOBODY IS LISTENING. 100% OF NOTHING IS NOTHING! SOUNDCLOUD HAS 4 TIMES THE USER BASE AND ALREADY ALLOWING MIXES AND THEY BEGAN JUST A BIT BEFORE YOU DID. IT WON'T BE LONG BEFORE SPOTIFY AND APPLE ALLOW MIXES ALSO.

GET INTERNATIONAL DJS TO PLAY EXCLUSIVE SHOWS ON MIXCLOUD, DO IT LIVE IT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER. LIVE IS AN AMAZING PRODUCT ITSELF THAT NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT BECAUSE YOUR TOO BUSY MAKING SMALL CHANGES THAT DON'T MATTER! IT WILL JUST BECOME MORE THINGS YOUR SUPPORT TEAM IS FURTHER DELAYED IN RESPONDING TO. IT USED TO BE SEVERAL DAYS, NOW IT'S WEEKS TO HEAR BACK FROM SUPPORT.

THEN RASIE YOUR HANDS IF YOU'VE HEARD OF SOUNDCLOUD, 50% OR MORE RAISED THIER HANDS AT EACH EVENT. A TOP SCHOOL WITH STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE WHO COULD/SHOULD BE A TARGET MARKET. WHY ISN'T THERE ANY MARKETING PLAN TOWARD THEM AND OR PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF MIXCLOUD?

IT'S PIGON HOLED IN THE DIRECTION YOU'RE TRYING TO GO OR THE SMALL THINGS YOU THINK TO ADD, LIKE HOW CAN THE PROFILE PAGES BE BETTER. HOW ABOUT GET ALL YOUR TECH WORKING 100% ALL THE TIME? IS ADDING MORE FEATURES THAT DON'T WORK THE ANSWER? INSTEAD OF BUILDING A MORE SOPHISTICATED MOUSE TRAP THAT ONLY SPEAKS TO THE CUSTOMERS YOU HAVE, WHY NOT BUILD SOMETHING THAT ATTRACTS MORE OF THE 8 BILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.

Additionally we have a beta group for our mobile apps so our users can test and give us feedback about the releases we make.

DOES THIS BETA GROUP OR THE R&D DEPARTMENT EVER CONSIDER WHAT KIDS/TEENAGERS WANT OR THINK WOULD BE COOL TO THEM? 8 BILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD AND NOBODY OUTSIDE OF MIXCLOUD OR IN THE DJ COMMUNITY HAS HEARD OF IT, BIG DEAL. THE PLATFORM HAS TO BE STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY OTHERWISE WHY SO MANY SIMPLE TECH GLITCHES THAT CAUSE AN ALREADY OVERWHELMED SUPPORT TEAM A WEEK TO GET BACK. YOUR LISTENER BASE HASN'T GROWN TO CREATED THE LAG WITH SUPPORT.

Artists not uploading and terrible customer service.

Decent idea but the DJ I joined to follow wasn't uploading enough new content so I cancelled. Upon cancelling my access was immediately revoked despite the fact that I had paid for the full month and there was another 3 weeks remaining. I emailed their support raising this issue and have had no reply 3 weeks later.
Don't bother!

OK as long as you dont use it on your mobile phone

I use Mixcloud to listen to the occasional live DJ show.

On a computer or laptop its great, flawless even, but on my mobile phone its unusable, the stream constantly cuts out. THis happens when using my 5G data or connected to WiFi

This issue is nothing to do with my phone or data speed, as others have said the same thing on chats etc and I can stream a live youtube or rumble video perfectly for an hour without a single cut out.

Made business changes & gave up their crown to whoever's next

Pretty terrible now, after being a very worthwhile alternative to Soundcloud. Recently introduced capped amount of uploads for a set monthly fee (rather than, say, a more reasonable 'pay as you go' for low-frequency uploaders) & blocks mixes with the same artist featured too much.
Someone else will now come along & sink these guys, as goes the routine of the internet.

The update to the platform in the last week is in fact connected to our legal obligations to ensure that we are compliant with SRPC regulations, which is a stipulation of the licensing agreements we have to make sure royalties are paid. While this has been a part of our Terms of Use for many years, we have recently found there were some shows that did not have the correct restrictions enforced and so moved to correct this. These changes are all made with the aim of ensuring that our platform, built to be a legal way of sharing shows and tracks, continues.

Paid subscription?

I've been with mixcloud for many years when it was free to upload your mixes. I've been DJing for over 20 years and put up all my work on there so that people can listen for free. The past year I hadn't made a single mix but recently decided to make a new one. When I went to upload it on their site, it basically wanted me to upgrade to a premium account since I have around 140 mixes on there from years past. I won't be paying to share my work when I don't get paid for it myself. If it wasn't for us DJs uploading our work, you wouldn't have mixcloud to begin with. I certainly won't be using your services again. I am still using a free alternative called House-Mixes.com and have all my years worth of work on there too. Such a shame you got greedy as it was a great way to share your work for free.
