We got a great & clean campervan at the branch in Christchurch. However it really is very different for each branch.. a few weeks later we rented a campervan in Cairns and the experience was horrible and we got a very dirty campervan. awe even bought our own pillows because the ones in the camper were disgusting. Anyway, if you pick up the campervan in Christchurch and they still have the same quality level as in Feb 2026, you‘lö have an amazing experience! Our maui campervan looked pretty new and was cleaned very well. We got propper blankets & pillows which were very comfortable and clean. The blanket was super warm so we could easily sleep without a heating eventhough it had 5-7 degrees outside during the night.

I would NOT do it again.
On pick up of the van it was really dirty and smelly .
I can deal with used, as it is a rental, but not this dirty. All dishes grimy, towels smelling like old oil and someone's socks under the seat.
With broken fridge latch and bars, scattering our food everywhere.
Didn't get broom, fan or wineglasses, as listed in equipment ,only on request provided
Waited multiple hours at pick up for our dirty van.
Broke down on the first day and had very unresponsive and difficult communication with thl over multiple days.
Dealing with them felt unprofessional, but the dirtiness was already a deal breaker
Paid extra money for the cleaning pack and was dirtier at pick off then when I dropped it off.
Would not recommend for a friend.

The motor home was missing a plug so we couldn’t wash up, it was pretty dirty, as in I had to scrub the benches, cupboards and bathroom and when it rained the roof leaked over the bed and down the wall all over the bed. The bed was soaked.

When we picked up the van we were told that between 9-11am is busy. We arrived at 10:42. We did not get our van until 13:47?
When we got the van it was filthy. It had not been cleaned. The camp chairs were broken, we only ended up with 2. Rita served us on pick up and did everything she could. Your company cost us a half a day travel and the result was we didnt finish the intended journey.
Your service is ridiculously lousy and I would avoid using any part of the THL group in future. We didnt get a mighty as per we recieved a maui.

Have just enjoyed a trip to the North West, specifically Coral Bay, before being chased off by Tropical Cyclone Narelle. Despite this small set back, the 6 berth camper performed admirably. I was expecting an older camper at pick up - what we got was a near new 'Maui' (@mauimotorhomes) Mercedes (with just 22k on the clock). A pleasant surprise was the 'Crosswind Assist', which definitely got a workout. My family of four was very comfortable. All included equipment worked well. This was my 2nd time hiring from Mighty - and will happily use their services again.

Collection, handover and facilities on the campervan were all very good. Staff were friendly and helpful and the shuttle to and from the airport was also great.
The campervan itself was well-used, but it was reliable and did everything we needed.

1-The check in/check out was efficient
2-Camper drove very well, bit of rattling from the back interior, ie shower doors however managed to tape down the offending issues.
3- Good value for what you receive
4-Wiper water was empty which was disappointing as once realized did not pass a Petrol station for 100 ks.
Grey water hose very hard to access once bedding was completed, this should be repositioned or known.
Overall though we had an amazing time and the Camper Van is definitely a great way to see Tassie.

Very good experience renting camper van for 3 people. Got the euro Apollo. We left the bed in place the whole time. There was a good amount of storage. We tried not to use the bathroom because it often smelled like urine. The sleeping was very comfortable. The linens provided were good - we should not have brought our own towels. Fridge was good size. Driving was fine but travel times are about 25% longer than Google Maps estimates. You just can’t go that fast.
Good experience and we would do it all over again.
The drop off time was 330pm which we could not do, but fortunately the gate was still open so we dropped off the key and left it there.

I ordered and paid for a new (2 years old as I recall) camper. I actually received a different model that had was 6 years old. It was beat up and very uncomfortable. When i complained at pickup I was told that was all that was available and take it or leave. I am very unhappy.

Easy pickup. Personal Walk through was very inadequate. No video walk through available. Breakdown service was poor, not really 24/7 as advertised. Only 9-3 during business hours can you get any real help. . Replacement process took nearly 48 hours. Unacceptable. Drop off service was unorganized, hectic and long.

Motorhome was old and had many issues including waste water problems that they couldn’t/wouldn’t fix on our trip. We had to divert to get repairs on awnings, waste water, fittings breaking
Sewrage smells throughout the motorhome resulted in us not being able to use the shower/toilet on our 5 week trip and we had to stop using the sink in the final few days

The caravan was not clean and check equipments properly before handover to customer, cause danger to driver.
