Disappointing subscription service!

I bought subscription on 10th of April, it was working fine, then the next day I logged in to my account and it says there’s no subscription on your account and buy subscription to be able to do anything.
I paid for the subscription when I needed to generate pictures for a project and it’s broken the next day, so annoying! I said no worries, I’ll contact support and they’ll fix it quickly. I submitted the ticket for assistance on 11th of April, the agent just sent me a refund on 20th and closed the ticket!
This is so disappointing!

Hello Milad, thanks for sharing your experience. We understand it can be frustrating to pay for a service and it doesn't work as expected.

As mentioned in support ticket 398460, the issue you experienced is due to a technical bug. Our team had been looking into the issue to try and resolve the matter, so we apologize for the delay in response. However, the best solution was to issue a full refund to your original payment method, allowing you to retry the transaction.

We have documented this and passed it to our engineering team for a more permanent fix. Thank you for your understanding.

Banning, blocking and false accusations

Wow! Permanent blocked account for absolutely zero reason and zero proof of accusations . Been utilizing midjourney since V3. I never run nsfw content, no nudes, nothing over violent or graphic and still get permanently blocked? Since I have the pro account I almost always run in stealth mode so even when the prompt generations come back with inappropriate content it’s not even on the public areas to be seen. If I can be blocked and my money lost because of some glitch in their system then why can Midjourney break their own terms of service and create NSFW content I didn’t ask for and send it to me????? I have spent countless hours establishing custom profiles, personalization, custom sref codes etc….. always have payed for pro since I first joined and always payed for full year in advance. I’ve even subscribed to the magazine to throw some extra support their way because I know how tough it is to be a start up. I’m happy that there is some type of regulation regarding standards of content created and I’m also happy that they allow only real human interactions via promoting and generating content. However, I’m not happy that my money and time invested can be taken away with nothing more than a false accusation of automation and scripting….. It’s been interesting figuring out how AI creates content and how to communicate with it to achieve various outcomes. I was looking forward to advancing further with the new release of V7. I Just payed up front the full amount for this year in February and had account permanently blocked for absolutely not doing what I have been accused of. I honestly can not believe that a company can take payment in full and essentially give the customer zero correspondence other than generic pre-scripted email replies with ticket numbers that are basically useless since there is zero actual communication other than a generic form lette then confirms they will not discuss your case with you and all communication is done. You will only hear from them after a review if your account is reinstated. The paying customer that has invested both thousands of hours and thousands of dollars over numerous years is not even considered in all of this. Not to mention the customers are also helping midjourney as they are also training on the customers input to perfect the process. Basically the only thing I know is that I’ve been falsely accused of using automation and scripting (no idea how to even do any of that) and I’ve lost years of training, loads of pro plan fees and many late nights after normal work hours studying, experimenting and learning how to use ai in the changing world of creative services. Beyond stressed thinking that both my money and my time have been potentially lost because of some faulty monitoring glitch in the Midjourney application. I had no idea this was even a possibility or that it was happening to so many folks until it happened to me and I did a quick search to see how to resolve this. Extremely nervous that the account review process will not be resolved and that I have no way to actually communicate with the company other than form letters and appeal forms that I have filled out and am sitting here in waiting. Impressed with the functionality and platform design and the quality of the actual program so I sure hope to hear back regarding account reinstatement, but the lack of customer support for a product that can only exist with customers like me is very disappointing. In over 3 decades of professionally working in the industry this is by far the most unprofessional occurrence I have ever had with any tech company ever. Long wait times, poor communication etc…. Is expected but eventually I can speak to a customer representative. This is a new and not great experience. Here is part of the actual message I recieved.

“ It may take up to two weeks for your appeal to be reviewed. You will only be notified if your appeal is successful and your ban is lifted.
We understand it can be frustrating not to have more specific information, but regrettably, we’re unable to discuss the details of individual cases. Beyond sharing this information, we’re unable to assist further with banned accounts.
Please note that, per the Terms of Service. refunds will not be issued for banned accounts, but your subscription has been canceled and you will not be charged again.
Any attempts to bypass this ban by creating additional accounts will result in the immediate termination of those accounts without refunds, per our Terms of Service.
If you have any other questions or need help with anything else, please let us know.”
My Fingers are crossed that my account is actually reviewed for automation, scripting etc…… because I will 100 percent guarantee that did not happen. I sure hope this is a mistake and resolved immediately….

Hi Floor VH, thanks for the review.

Relax Mode uses a queue system where your image requests wait in line as GPUs become available, which can result in wait times between 0-10 minutes. Your wait time depends on how frequently you use Relax Mode compared to other users.

You may wish to switch to another speed, either Fast or Turbo, which will help you generate even more images in less time. Learn more here: https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32016412137741-GPU-Speed-Fast-Relax-Turbo

I don’t understand all the hype around…

I don’t understand all the hype around Midjourney. The prompt filter is unbearable and unnecessary it blocks out everything. You need to learn how to talk to Midjourney or you will always be blocked writing the most innocent prompts. It’s really annoying. I canceled my subscription after a couple of days and they offered me a full refund so that is really good experience. It might not be good for me but good for others obviously. I have memberships on Leonardo, Kling, Tensor etcétera so I know my way around this stuff and Midjourney is not for me at all. Prop to their customer service. Thank you Midjourney I appreciate it. Maybe tune down the filter and you’ll get more customers. It doesn’t make any sense on how’s structured. Leonardo AI has a pretty severe filter but it makes sense on what is blocking out. Yours makes absolutely no sense and it ruins the whole experience. Just my opinion.

Unjust Suspension + No Refund — Avoid This Service!

I paid for a subscription, and within 14 days, Midjourney suspended my account without explanation and refused to refund my $30. My content was fully compliant (you can check it publicly), but support ignores my requests (Ticket #388473).

This is unfair business practice: they take money but deny service without cause. If you value your rights as a consumer, think twice before using Midjourney.

Poor Generation

I tried over two hundred prompts in every possible way to generate a simple scene, and only once did it generate something passable. It seems that when it wants to, it generates something decent. I suspect it favors customers who pay an annual subscription, and if that weren't enough, I found that at a certain time, in just two days of using the app, at a certain time, at 6:30 pm, it generated some decent images. So, a complete waste of time. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Useful tool, but terrible customer service and unethical billing practices

A year ago, we signed up for MidJourney’s annual plan, and the tool itself has been useful for our company needs. However, our experience with their billing and customer service has been extremely disappointing.

On March 8, 2025, our subscription was automatically renewed, and we were charged without any prior notification or opportunity to review whether we wanted to continue or even upgrade the service. As a business, we need time to evaluate whether we want to renew, upgrade, or cancel a subscription. MidJourney did not provide this opportunity, which is unethical and in violation of UK consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. These laws require businesses to provide clear information about automatic renewals and give consumers a reasonable opportunity to cancel before being charged.

We contacted MidJourney’s billing team on March 10, 2025, and followed up on March 12, but have received no response whatsoever. The complete lack of communication and customer support is disappointing, especially for a company offering a premium service.

While the tool itself is valuable, the way MidJourney handles billing and customer service leaves much to be desired. I hope this review brings attention to these issues and encourages them to improve their practices.

I subscribed to the annual basic plan but retexture function stopped working

I subscribed to the annual basic plan after the new edition and retexture tools were made available. I was blown away with the power of it as i was mainly using it to convert my old sketches to art using the style
Of some of my finished works. All excellent until it stopped accepting any retexture at all and always with the message that “ Creation failed Sorry, while the prompt you entered was deemed safe, the resulting image was detected as having content that might violate our community guidelines, no fast hours have been used” well i have tried with fruits, flowers, animals, hands, inanimate objects. Nothing works its like that feature was blocked to me but they chose to just send me that generic message. At this point i am wondering did i make a guge mistake subscribing for a whole year and experiencing this after 2 months? Also there is no direct email to communicate this issue.

I had the worst experience with…

I had the worst experience with Midjourney. I developed original art using light photography for almost 5 years using a crystal, and light to animate my strongest lucid dream. I asked them if I could get some awareness raised for artists with visual snow syndrome as I was using many tools to complete my concept work for a graphic novel about my mutation. Which causes me to have the strongest form of extra sensory perception with light and energy in the world. They told me they had no interest in supporting artists or culture. Bryan Kohberger had visual snow and because of the discrimination and defamatory content citing my sensory functions as hallucinations from drugs. He started killing people as soon as I got my dream animated and visual designs working. I kept asking the small team frauding everyone out of millions of dollars generating basic content to help me raise some awareness and respect me for innovating the creative application. Developing concept art for a cultural project and graphic novel design made with original art and tools using AI in my original creative process. I’m still facing extreme discrimination I'm told that I need to be cured and they’ve begun the process of labeling neurodivergent people as a disease. All they accomplished is becoming a blip in a boom of frauds degrading the talent and dedication it takes to innovate and create original art. I’m so sad for these people that they had an opportunity to do something special and threw everything away. I consider AI to be worthless, I no longer include it in my creative process and have moved on. If I knew they were going to be so soulless and unaware of the power someone like me has from the worlds most powerful genetic condition. I would have just collected some bitcoins and dumped them never spoken to them and had a better quality life living like a parasite off these people like they do.

A Year of Dedication, But No Appreciation from Midjourney

I've been a loyal customer of Midjourney for the past 12 months, maintaining a monthly subscription with the promise of gaining access to the EDIT feature allegedly granted after one year of subscription. Imagine my disappointment when, due to a mere 11-day gap in my payments (caused only by my credit card expiring), I find myself being stonewalled by their rigid terms and conditions.

The EDIT feature was my main motivation for sticking around for an entire year. Yet, Midjourney's customer support remains unsupportive to my plight, repeatedly falling back on demanding I either cough up for the annual subscription or produce a staggering 10,000 images... in other words: "we couldn't care less about our customers, F you."

I expect Midjourney to reconsider their stance and make the EDIT feature available in my account immediately. This is not an unreasonable request given my consistent support and the minimal interruption in my subscription. They need to show that they at least value customer loyalty and are willing to make reasonable exceptions to their policies when circumstances warrant it. Stop BS me.

Hello Saul, we want to sincerely thank you for your dedicated support of Midjourney over the past year.

Your loyalty means a great deal to us, and I completely understand your frustration regarding access to the Full Editor feature.

The system automatically calculates the consecutive length of time a customer is subscribed, in order to provision access to the requested feature. The support team is unable to make a manual override. It seems the best solution in this case would be to subscribe to an annual plan to unlock the feature.

Although it may not be the ideal solution you're after, we're here to help. Feel free to email us at billing@midjourney.com if we can assist further.

Midjourney started with promise but…

Midjourney started with promise but quickly became a letdown. The AI world is moving fast, with new sites and models popping up daily, yet Midjourney remains stuck, barely improving. Its prompts are a mess, impossible to understand. I wasted money on a yearly subscription, the biggest mistake I've made. Free AI apps do a better job. Midjourney's lack of progress is frustrating and disappointing.

The most user-friendly interface

The most user-friendly interface among all AI image generators.
It doesn't go into details (like Stable diffusion), it does what the user needs. And there's not so much effort needed to provide a great quality. Moreover, the style can vary a lot.
I definitely recommend it.

EDIT: Thanks for your answer Midjourney, I appreciate it, and I heavily use the "personalization" feature that you mention. My company has a specific flat design style, and Midjourney allows me to transform any picture into our company's visual identity.
Thanks again for providing one of the best AI software.

Great quality of generations

Great quality of generations. One problem with this is that if you enter two different prompts with varying details, it keeps generating very similar images to the older generations. I wish a 'New Chat' or reset button were implemented for fresh generations.

You can use the the Rerun button on Web to generate a completely new grid of images from your initial prompt, or try the Vary or Remix tools https://docs.midjourney.com/docs/remix .
