MidJourney Has Become a Total Joke
I’ve had it with MidJourney. This platform has gone completely downhill — constant crashes, endless “failed to generate” messages, ridiculous wait times, and prompts that barely follow instructions anymore. It’s like paying to beta-test a broken product.
For what they’re charging, this service is a complete embarrassment. The site is glitchy, slow, and unreliable, and it’s absurd that they’re asking people to spend real money for something that barely functions half the time. It used to be decent, but now it’s just pathetic.
I’m beyond frustrated with how terrible the overall experience has become. MidJourney seriously needs to get its act together — fix your servers, fix your generation system, and stop pretending this is a polished platform. As it stands right now, it’s an overpriced, underperforming mess, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. wish there was no star!

My account got banned for 'accessing our services via automation, scripting, third party tools, or account sharing'. I did not do any of these things, and submitted an appeal through the google form and I was told that it may take 2 weeks to get a decision. I then emailed their billing support and they referred me right back to the google form. My subscription (including purchased fast hours) has 2 weeks left so I guess that's it. I can't even begin to express how disappointed I am in the level of service compared to the amount I paid for the subscription. I did not get a confirmation of my appeal so I don't even know if they received it. Actual scammers have better levels of service than this. What a joke

O stars. Site was having issues immediately and giving an error code of "the issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented." Yet it racked up usage time for things that never rendered.
I emailed billing to cancel and get a refund, and got an automated response stating that if you haven't used more than 20 hours, you will have the option of getting a refund. Cancelled, no options.
Went back to it after it rendered nothing and my option to refund wasn't there, and tried to get it to create things from reference... wouldn't generate an image code, and did its own thing.
Now this is a hassle for my bank as I will be forced to file a dispute to get the money back. Run away from this rubbish, don't walk!

I tried it on discord but it so complicated to use. I just wanted a simple image generator. I ended up changing to Promptus. It’s a better experience overall.

I've been subscribing on and off (mostly on) for 3 years and, yes, there have been issues now and then, but nothing that I would withdraw stars for. Staff is almost always available if you have issues. Will I continue to sub? Sure, will I recommend it? Yes.

I subscribed, created 10-20 images, and was blocked after two weeks without explanation. They didn't refund my money. They're just scammers.
Official answer: "We understand it can be frustrating not to have more specific information. Beyond what’s already been shared, we’re unable to provide additional details or assistance for banned accounts.
Any attempts to bypass this ban by creating additional accounts will result in the immediate termination of those accounts without refunds, per our Terms of Service."

a COMPLETE MESS OF HOT GARBAGE. THEY DONT SHOW THE TERMS OF SERVICE TILL AFTER YOU PAY.... THEY MAKE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL.... I JOINED TO CREATE A MUSIC VIDEO AND IT WILL ONLY GENERATE 5 SECOND CLIPS... ITS THE WORST PIECE OF SHIT IVE EVER SEEN

I have been a loyal MidJourney user for more than 9 months. I paid my $60 subscription every single month without fail, created daily, and trusted this platform as part of my work.
And then, out of nowhere, on September 20th, my account was banned. Not just mine — around 20 people I personally know worldwide were hit with the exact same ban, like some kind of global purge.
What makes this even more outrageous is the timing. On September 19th, the entire platform was down, with an official message about a “technical bug.” Nobody could generate anything. Then, just a few hours before the ban, MidJourney charged me another $60 for the next month of service. And the next thing I see? My account is gone, banned, with no refund, no explanation, nothing.
I never broke a single rule. I’ve supported this platform for 9 months straight, and this is the “thank you” I get — losing access overnight and watching my money vanish into thin air.
This feels like theft. It feels like betrayal. How can a company take people’s money and then shut the door in their faces the very same day? Where is the accountability? Where is the respect for the users who kept this service alive?
I am shocked, angry, and deeply disappointed. MidJourney was supposed to be a place for creativity. Instead, it became a place where loyal customers are treated like disposable wallets.
Final verdict: 1 out of 5 — and honestly, if I could give zero, I would.

Told me to register to start creating then once it stole my email and connected to my discord without permission it tells me that actually I need to pay. Total scam.

I don't doubt the validity of the negative reviews others have left. But my experience was quite pleasant; I signed up for a month, hardly used it, and when I decided to cancel, they offered me a full refund. Only 8 dollars but a nice gesture!

Sometimes you just run out of words. You’re paying for an expensive monthly subscription – but for what? For not being able to generate any images because the system is completely overloaded. When you try to generate a picture, it just says “starting.” And that’s it. Nothing happens. Only after refreshing the website can you finally create an image again. Bravo! Truly impressive performance…

Canceled my subscription but still was charged. Don't recommend

Impossible d'utiliser l'animation de mes images car ce sont des monstres style anime et donc la modération considère que ce sont des pokémons.
Refus de remboursement.
Edit answer at midjourney comment : I post where they said didn't get any answer, it was happening not on one or two pictures but almost on everything I spent months to generate before and that I payed them for it.

Midjourney has consistently been one of the best generative image AI tools on the market for many many years, especially if you want professional-level photography where you can define and maintain a certain style. I don't think there's any other tool on the market that can beat them in that regard. There are two things I wish they would implement:
1. I wish they would get good at generating text that's clean and visually appealing in the images
2. That there would be an option to create vector graphics in Midjourney

I’ve had a frustrating experience with MidJourney’s billing. I canceled my subscription at the beginning of June, but despite the cancellation, I was still charged $10 in both July and August. This feels like an unauthorized charge, as I was under the impression that my subscription had been properly canceled.
I’ve reached out to their support team with all the relevant details, and I’m hoping this issue gets resolved quickly. At this point, I’m waiting for clarification and a refund for the charges that shouldn’t have occurred.
It's disappointing to deal with billing issues like this, especially after taking the steps to cancel the service. I’ll update this review if the matter is resolved, but at the moment, I’m not satisfied with the experience.

I paid for Midjourney’s Mega plan even though I survive on a fairly low income, because making videos is how I make money, and some reviews convinced me it was worth it. So far I’ve spent almost $200 in 4 days. My 60 GPU hours that come with the mega plan were gone in 3 days and if I want more before next month, I have to pay a higher price for supplemental hours. And if I want 60 more hours next month I’d have to pay over $100 again. I won’t. I thought this wouldn’t be a problem because they say you have unlimited “relaxed” video generations, but they’re actually quite limited. Once you run out of “fast” hours, you can no longer extend any of the content you made with fast hours. And I submitted a video request 6 hours ago that still says “starting.” I don’t know if it’s ever going to generate, but I know that the 5 I submitted before that didn’t. I got the message “Your prompt was declared safe, but the image was against our policies. No fast hours were charged.” Great. I didn’t have any fast hours anyway. So will they be refunding my money for the relaxed hours they wasted? No.
So how did the image violate their policies? I asked for a video of holographic avatars. They were somewhat human shaped. Not “nude,”because they were not shaped to be anatomically correct in the first place and were just holograms of light and color. Just *vaguely* human shaped. There were no suspicious words in the prompts… I asked different AI to help me rewrite the prompts 3 times. If we’re teaching AI that there’s something bad about the general human shape, that is a sick degree of self hatred and a stupid move- passing the hatred of the human form to AI.
I have not been able to generate a video for 8 hours now. This is my workflow. I could have paid for a different product. This is a scam.

I can only speak for the Basic plan - it's NOT worth your money. Cancelled my subscription the day after subscribing.

It's the best AI for images and short animations these days. I've tried many options like Google's models, open source Stable Diffusion, Kandinsky, and others, but Midjourney is made by very smart engineers, and they have included many talented works from artists in their source dataset. It's the best AI at the moment.
They’re making a new push in video creation, and I’m looking forward to when they introduce 3D model generation to make our world a better place for people.
This site is designed to milk money. It quickly tries to charge for services which should be free and on one occasion actually tried to charge $200 for something I had not requested- cant get much help from support
