Dangerous driving
Dangerous driving
14th Nov 25 I'd been driving in torrential rain on M1 south from Wakefield when a driver of Menzies lorry DK24zwt tried to overtake me using a lane on my left. It was stopped by a car driven in front of him so decided to go around my back and do it from another side. Passing on my right no matter for the heavy rain the Menzies driver suddenly moved toward me pushing me away to the left. Then he suddenly used his brakes when he was in front me. Then he drove for half an hour like a crazy slowing down in front of my lorry and rushing forward everytime I tried to overtake him. He jumped in front of other vehicles just inches away on the way and did a lot of other dangerous maneuvers. Eventually I passed behind his back to services. He tried to follow me and almost hit a barrier . Only then he gave up his crazy chase. I stopped shaken.
It's been 2 weeks ago but I'm still under impression so I decided to write about it now. I hope it may help to stop the extremely dangerous behavior but I doubt it.
Horrible
My experience working with Menzies Distribution has been extremely disappointing. In my opinion, the schedules they create for drivers are completely unrealistic. Around 90% of the drivers I worked with were unable to take their proper breaks at the correct times, because the only way to finish the route and get home to their families was to take breaks during other tasks such as loading or unloading.
The planning is chaotic and feels like a constant pressure on drivers. From what I’ve seen, the Health & Safety standards are also far below what they claim – it often feels like these rules are used only when it benefits the company, not the drivers.
Overall, this has been a very stressful and frustrating place to work, and I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

Another one for their dangerous driving!! I was driving at night (single female with 3 children) in storm Claudia. I overtook the lorry on the A43 near Towcester on Thursday 13th November on the dual carriageway. As I did so a car flew up behind me flashing his headlights to come past, I got well in front of the Menzies lorry until I could clearly see then in my mirrors and then indicated to pull in. As soon as I did the Menzies driver put his headlights on full beam blinding me in my rear view mirror and he kept them on. I couldn't get out of the way because of the the traffic passing in the second lane and another lorry in front of me. Once the traffic had passed, the Menzies lorry overtook me and then cut straight across the front of me and then slammed his brakes on making me need to brake heavily to avoid hitting him which frightened my children. It was torrential rain and I was on a road I don't know well at night with children. This was a very scary and intimidating situation. After that I was too initimidated to overtake again so I was stuck behind him all the way to Northampton.
Planning team are very good
Gary and Richard from the Planning Team have been extremely helpful and reliable throughout our contract.
The plans they provide are always realistic and well thought out, never overstretched, but perfectly balanced to keep our wheels turning.
In transport, it’s inevitable to face challenges such as difficult to find addresses or other delays on road.
However, these issues are never a problem for Gary and Richard. They handle everything quickly and efficiently, ensuring operations run smoothly.
Thank you!
Dangerous Eastbourne driver
Look out for the Eastbourne driver because the man is an idiot and unlikely to give away to the right on the roundabout as he did to me today
When I challenged him with it, he had no idea what he done said he hadn’t heard my horn and didn’t even apologise
I told him he’s supposed to be a professional driver and drive like a professional not like an idiot because the way he’s going, he’s gonna kill somebody
Management, please take note Eastbourne driver idiot

Dangerous driving through 20 mph speed limit, he is a great Danger. Seeing me walking pavement driver would speed up and move closer to pavement
Please read.....
In the chaotic environment in our Aylesford office/site, one figure looms larger than the rest: Dale, a manager whose presence is anything but welcoming. He walks through the corridors like he owns the place, his every step marked by an almost palpable arrogance. Dale is an Asian man whose impressive stature is overshadowed by his aggressive demeaner. It's as if he believes that his position gives him a license to intimidate rather than inspire.
Every workday, he ambles in at his leisure, with no regard for the schedules of others. His disregard for punctuality is just a minor reflection of his broader disrespect for company culture and professional decorum. Rather than fostering a collaborative atmosphere, Dale seems intent on asserting dominance, frequently engaging in inappropriate flirtations with female colleagues. His advances are rarely welcomed, often met with uncomfortable silence. Yet, Dale appears oblivious, or perhaps indifferent, to the signals he receives.
What’s even more disturbing is his tendency to engage in crude gestures, at times touching himself in a way that leaves many of us repulsed. This display of entitlement goes beyond mere unprofessionalism; it is a form of bullying that creates a hostile work environment. What's shocking is that Dale’s behaviour seems to be tacitly endorsed by management. They are thick as thieves, turning a blind eye to his antics while those of us who are affected feel increasingly powerless.
The camaraderie on the management team fosters an atmosphere of complicity. It’s as if they believe his bullying is a catalyst for productivity rather than the toxic influence that it truly is. Those of us who witness this behaviour daily are left grappling with a profound sense of injustice. In a workplace that should champion respect and collaboration, Dale continues to throw his weight around with impunity, leaving us to wonder: When will someone finally stand up to this bully?
Planning is a chaos!
Transport planning is just one big chaos at Menzies. They keep planning making bookings and planning such routes onto the drive, where they should know it is impossible to meet some of the timings. Planners at Menzies seem not to considering any distance related traffic, driver's legal breaks or what's worse none of the offload time is even thought of. For them arrival time at delivery or collection point is the same as the departure time as if it was some kind of video game where you get to destination and load magically disappears from your lorry. When you are late they just threatening you with no payment as if it was your fault as everything is blamed on a driver and "communication" - and that is their biggest issue as if you ever worked for them you know full well they do not respond to you in case of any issues or will reply with such delay so everything can be then blamed on a delivery driver... Very poor experience over all aspects. It seems like they do not have a clue of what are they doing there - I would hope their new owners 'In-Post' will look into it and get rid of these issues as if it continues like this they will have no drivers or customers left...

Van driver was tailgating me.
Very dangerous driving, complete idiot needs his licence taken away.
Not good advertisement for the company when the driver was driving like a complete idiot and putting people in danger
This companies service levels are…terrible
This companies service levels are appalling. Avoid them if you can
Avoid!
Worst company I've worked for, from total chaos with the management blame games to newly selected team leaders being threatening and intimidating to their own staff. Sheffield depo definitely needs sorting out. John Kennedy and his son obviously don't give two flying ducks about their staffs welfare and it shows. The team leader in question is the hot head known as Simon on the in post team, avoid at all costs as he has the reputation to be a bully and a liar. The company has such a high turn over of staff its hard to keep track of who's on holiday and who has left or been dismissed. The pressure & stress is definitely not worth the wage, there's plenty of better companies to work for out there.

For about the 5th time this month I have arrived at my local Newsagent (Onestop Shop Emsworth Road Havant) to find Menzies haven't delivered the newspapers. They are a complete waste of rations!
poor service
every morning went to my newsagent for my news paper always late this morning no news papers what a joke of a company not worth one star
Vacancies just for fun
They post job vacancies every 3 months but never hire... or maybe the hiring is done on the basis of friendship or kinship. It doesn't matter your experience or competence... you will be ignored.
Not worth 1 star, dangerous driver
Not worth 1 star, yet another review about a dangerous driver who came flying onto a roundabout I was already on, causing me to take avoiding action to avoid a collision. Driver was doing 70mph on a dual carriageway A road whereby the limit is 60 for commercial vehicles and excess speed for his vehicle type carried over to a single carriageway too.
Eventually I found where he was and confronted the driver who was frankly aggressive and tried to apportion blame on me.
Will be contacting Menzies with my dash cam footage

Two nights ago a Menzies driver crashed into my van causing significant damage and then just drove off. Luckily it was all caught on camera by the shop they were delivering to. The driving was appalling and seriously dangerous. The van came round the corner far far too fast, mounted the curb at speed, lost control, crossed both lanes and crashed into my van! They made no attempt to stop or leave details. I have tried for days to call and email Menzies to settle without police involvement however they have ignored all communication. I’m now involving the police. Absolutely terrible service with terrible drivers. No respect for public safety or peoples belongings. I will take this all the way to get my van fixed.

Outrageously dangerous driving by Menzies driver. I was on my bike in a yellow box turning right, in plain sight. When a gap opened up I cycled on, and the van driver sped up to overtook me on the inside, forcing me into oncoming traffic. This is outrageously bad driving and if I hadn’t reacted this could’ve ended up very badly.
Rarely delivered on time and poor customer service
Rarely delivered on time. Their internal complaints policy and internal escalation processes are poor. To top of it off, their contact center agents don’t like to be told they are in the wrong, have a complete lack of empathy and care, and can be rude.
Get your act together.
