Poor service and patronising
Complained via e mail this week due to their cashier in the food hall in Kings Lynn snapping his fingers in front of an elderly ladies face saying wake up wake up.
The member of staff in the vicinity chose to ignore ,
When I went to self service and told said to the lady supervising the tills I wanted to make a complaint and told her what had happened she said it’s dealt with I’ve told him not to do it again. Save also then asked me if I’d scanned two greeting cards that had dropped to the floor, I showed her on the till screen they had been scanned but she was still rude , looked in my bag and scanned one card again just to be sure!
Upon offering feedback customer service advisor Ryan e mailed and acknowledgement and platitudes.
Clearly CCTV not looked at , not
Followed up before they emailed back and I’m told yes ‘our staff are enthusiastic about finding products that scan incorrectly’
So basically don’t complain, you’ll be patronised and made to feel like a thief.
I wrote back asking for follow up and was surprised to receive a text
Tonight asking if my issue had been resolved today during the call , guess what no call!
M&S you embarrass yourselves - you used to be the standard other companies aspired to.
What happened?
Anyway …. Look forward to a real phone call !
Very disappointed with two deli products
Very disappointed with two deli products I bought from M&S. Guacamole and a packet of Blini bread. The product named Guacamole was just mashed avacado with nothing added, and the Blini bread was completely dry and tasteless! Not going shopping there again!
DO NOT TOUCH M&S E GIFT CARDS
DO NOT TOUCH M&S E GIFT CARDS
Last year I arranged both car and home insurance using Confused. com, the comparison site. I received two £20 M&S
e gift cards which I transferred to an M&S account. When I checked both cards were lodged in the account.
Earlier this year ,around April, I made an online purchase using one of the card. The goods, however, were unsatisfactory and I returned the goods.
The sum £23.99, was restored to the e gift card account. Therefore I had two cards one for £20 and one for £23.99.
On checking the account this week only one card was shown with a balance of £0. The other one had disappeared.
After spending a lot of time and effort, the card with £23.99 was restored but nothing could be done unless I could trace the card number.
EFFECTIVELY M&S HAS STOLEN £20.
THE AMOUNT IS RELATIVELY INSIGNIFICANT. BUT IF YOU WERE THINKING OF GIVING A BIRTHDAY OR CHRISTMAS GIFT CARD DON’T .
DO NOT TOUCH THESE
I went into M&S Chester quite a large…
I went into M&S Chester quite a large store. I was looking for dresses unfortunately there are hardly any. None with sleeves or Midi length. What is going on. No wonder people are buying from Temu and Shein. Need some better buyers I think.
Tried to buy two T-shirts in m and s…
Tried to buy two T-shirts in m and s Cambridge on a Saturday morning. No one at all on the tills, no one apparently working there apart from the security guard. Went up to the first floor tills, no one. Back downstairs, grumpy girl came over and said they were working on click and collect! 10.30 am. Saturday.
Also, the fabrics used are shoddy especially the trousers. Supermarkets are now providing clothes as good as m and s, manufactured in the same countries and made of the same fabrics for far less.
The m and s online is very slow, and is now a portal for dozens of brands.
If only m and s could focus on high quality basics. As is they have lost all their USPs. So many better places to shop now. Even the 20% sparks discounts have gone.
M&S marking their own Homework. St.Albans Store St.Peters Street.
Recently I visited the M&S store in St. Albans Hertfordshire.
While walking from the car park to the store a M&S trolly sign next to the pedestrian entrance was sticking out and caught my head on the sharp corner of the sign.
My wife was more upset then me & took a photo of the sign showing it sticking out.
We then reported it to the store manager who took my details and I showed him the problem and sign sticking out.
In front of the manager I twisted the sign to the correct position showing him it was loose and to make sure no one else cut their head on the sign. He then phoned the operations manager and asked what he should do next?
I contacted M&S later who said they would investigate and I spelt out all the details for them with photos.
M&S reply after marking their own homework.
Following your report, we have reviewed the information you provided and discussed the matter with the store management team. The sign in question was inspected both at the time and afterwards. Based on these checks, we have not identified any fault or defect with the sign or its fixture, and it was found to be secure and fit for purpose.
My question was how could the sign be secure when I moved the sign making it straight in front of the manager?
The 2nd question Why did the manager change his mind when assessing the sign with someone else, when he watched me move it to a straight position?
Why did M&S not compare the sign now with the photo taken and supplied to them. The photo shows the sign crooked, you will find it straight now.
I was not trying to get compensation just concerned the damage it could have done if left.
I asked the above questions and I was dismissed bluntly. That's why I have put a review out.
Not impressed M&S. But usually very happy shopping at M&S.
I tried to return a pour moi beach…

Useless customer services . worse delivery system.
Useless customer services . Delivery system is a mess.
They offer expedited delivery options yet they don't tell you they use evri which is renowned for shoddy deliveries. You receive no updates until the morning of your chosen delivery and then they tell you despite best efforts it won't be delivered.Best efforts ? Wow that is not anyone's best efforts M&S have cut a lot of corners switching to this format of delivery. Do not buy anything if you need a quick delivery. No email to send a query in and the contact number puts you through to people who have no idea what they are doing . Frustrating set up won't be buying again .
Marks & Spencer
IT IS ALWAYS A DELIGHT TO SHOP AT MARKS & SPENCER'S. Their products are always laid out well and the staff are helpful and friendly.
New Sparks scheme is a fail and wholly…
New Sparks scheme is a fail and wholly frustrating. I’ve tried on numerous occasions to upload the cash I’ve earned to my Sparks card, but the system won’t send a verification code to my mobile. I’ve complained and twice M&S say they’ve sorted the glitch. Well, they haven’t. They’re just wasting my time. They make you spend then don’t honour the rewards. Why can’t the cash be added automatically to the Sparks card anyway? Why does it need my mobile? Scammy.
Was in the Metro Centre branch
Was in the Metro Centre branch, just want to say thanks to the staff on the Per Una section who helped out with a selection dilemma ! Sorry i didn;t get her name.
I dont know whats happened to the'new'…
I dont know whats happened to the'new' sparks rewards. Its a joke. Complicated and definitely NOT customer focused. Why does M&S change things that work perfectly well! I used to buy a lot on discount but given up. I'm sure this is true for many. As to the clothes! I'm 73, dont want to look frumpy but what age group do they want to aim at? Surely their market is aimed at older ladies? Younger ones will head to likes of next for the grungy look. I want to look smart/casual not neon bright tat.
Usually satisfied with M and S food but…
Usually satisfied with M and S food but I bought a precooked whole roast chicken for the first time as it was financially better value than prepared slices on trays. However, the meat had no flavour, and was dry and chewy, leaving an unpleasant ball of fibre in the mouth. Nasty.
The breast meat looked OK but was the same as the tough hardened meat on the legs.
Am very disappointed and will not be purchasing again just to leave most of it for the food waste bin.
I was in your branch in Kew yesterday…
I was in your branch in Kew yesterday around midday.
Lovely lady, think her name was Linda. She very kindly measured me, she was extremely knowledgable, and very helpful. Good customer service is very rare. Thank you, she made me feel at ease with the whole experience.
Great products and very nice food
Great products and very nice food. Great customer service in the Nantwich store. Thanks
No staff on any tills at 17.30
Marks and Spencer Trafford centre
Tuesday June 23 2026 time around 17.30
Had a full trolley meats fish etc tags on meat
Only self service available this is disgraceful
A lovely assistant on her own manning all these tills helped and offered to do it but kept getting called away to assist others.
Not fair to her or me the customer !
I wish I took her name as have used her on a previous visit she was on a till and she is so helpful had clothes food make up very awkward mix of products.
I do not want to use self service tills for big shops spent £90
This is a beautiful store but I will NOT return
SAVED - by a lady who actually cared !
Addition to my earlier review: Re: Men’s jeans at £49
Labled as 32 inch inside leg. Which were actually 36 !
Eventually, after my frustrating, annoying ‘non-service’
I got a female ‘Manager’ She was Chinese, polite, nice,
concerned and helpful. A welcome change from other
staff (when you could find one) who couldn’t care less !
So, hats off to her. Pity there isn’t more like her. 👏🏼👏🏼
Wasn’t June it was late May. Stupid computer would
not allow correction. Sad: An ‘App’ world. Crap service !
Shocking delivery service
Shocking delivery service. Items never arrived, wish I’d read the reviews before ordering, lesson learned won’t use again, poor
€176 refund missing for over a month – no tracking, no clear answers, no urgency
I have never experienced such a poorly handled refund process.
I returned two orders to M&S at the same time. One refund (€37) was processed and received without any issue. However, a second refund of approximately €176 was confirmed by M&S on 23rd of May as having been issued, but it never reached my account.
I contacted customer services and was told the refund had been successfully processed, but nobody could explain why it had not reached me.
After further investigation, M&S decided to send a replacement refund by cheque. As an Irish customer, I was extremely disappointed to learn that the solution was a sterling cheque sent by post rather than an electronic payment.
I was told by multiple customer service representatives that the cheque would take 10–14 days to arrive in Ireland and was specifically instructed to contact M&S again on 23rd of June if it had not arrived.
On 23rd of June, after the cheque still had not arrived, I was then informed that delivery to Ireland could actually take 4–5 weeks.
I have also received contradictory information about how the cheque was sent. I was advised it was sent by recorded delivery, yet I was later told there is no tracking number, no postal reference and no way to trace it.
At this point, I am still waiting for a refund that M&S confirmed had been issued over a month ago.
What concerns me most is not that an error occurred - mistakes happen. It is the lack of transparency, conflicting information from customer service, and the lack of urgency in resolving an issue involving a customer's money.
I am extremely disappointed with how this has been handled and this experience has seriously affected my confidence in shopping with M&S in the future.
Great clothes but delivery by Evri…
Great clothes but delivery by Evri terrible. You pay extra for fast delivery but it just gets delayed by evri. They just don’t bother delivering if it’s not convenient for them. I’d happily pay extra for DPD or even Royal Mail are better.
