I was expecting a parcel that was already delayed, and I received a notification that it would be out for delivery. Because of this, I specifically arranged to work from home and stayed in all day waiting for the delivery.
At no point did the intercom ring. Instead, I received a phone call and I immediately called back multiple times, but the delivery person did not answer any of my calls.
I then went downstairs to check if the courier was still nearby, but they had already left the premises.
I contacted MaltaPost to explain the situation, and I was told that I now have to either go to Pietà to collect the parcel or pay an additional fee for redelivery. This is completely unacceptable.
I was present at home, actively waiting for the delivery. There was no proper attempt made to reach me—no intercom was used, and no effort was made to answer my return calls. This reflects a very poor and careless delivery attempt.
It would have taken minimal effort to ring the intercom or answer the phone when I called back, especially if the courier was still in the area. In that case, the delivery could have been completed successfully.
Additionally, the collection point in Pietà is far from my residence, currently difficult to access due to ongoing roadworks, and highly inconvenient.
In the end, despite paying for delivery, I am being forced to collect the parcel myself due to inadequate service. This is extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
I expect this issue to be addressed appropriately.
I have been at home all day waiting to receive my partner and my tallinja cards. Delivery driver wasn't bother notifying us just left the slip that they missed us. Literally 0 effort and I have to pay for the pleasure of their incompetence. Between that and an extra whatever amount I'll spend before I can collect my card I have to say this is the worst service in Malta. Bravo
Will make sure to charge back as my way to say thank you for this :)

I had always good experience with maltapost!
As usual, he pushed the green delivery notice into my letter box without knocking and left. Typical. Once in the past I caught him posting the green notice and when I opened the door on him he was taken aback and told me that he did not bring the parcel with him because he had no space. Basically it's not a postal service it's a pick up service by the customer.
Today I was supposed to receive a parcel from Amazon Italy' The parcel was scheduled for delivery today but has not been delivered and is on its way back to the delivery center. Apparently it will be delivered the next working day.
have ordered many items from eBay supposed to be delivered through maltapost and it's basically become routine at this point for my deliveries to fail and for me to have to pick my parcel up at the post office the next day.
i'll be fair, a good amount of times it wasn't entirely MP's fault as i actually wasn't home when they tried to deliver. this time however, i made sure to stay home so i could accept the parcel. i stayed in the living room and kept checking the window every now and again for 3 hours. i made sure to stay on my phone so i could answer if they called me. around quarter past 3, i refresh the tracking and it says "item could not be processed further, unsuccessful delivery attempt".
i have not received a single call from anyone at maltapost about my delivery. i dont even know if my doorbell rang because while i was wearing headphones i was in the living room and it shouldve been loud enough for me to hear it, yet i heard nothing. all i got was a green slip in the mailbox letting me know i have to wait until tomorrow.
DHL and FedEx call me and ask if im home or going to be home when it's delivered. if the answer is no, they give me the option to pick up the parcel from their head office before it closes, no waiting an extra day, i can just go myself and get it. MaltaPost refuses. you HAVE to wait an extra day and collect it from your local post office, period. they dont take phone calls past 2:30pm. they dont keep most of their post offices open past 1. they dont always answer emails. even if you get a hold of customer service theyre completely useless and wont do anything to help you. and best of all, even if you ARE home and are actively waiting for the package, sometimes the postman just doesn't feel like doing his job that day and leaves the green slip without bothering to ring the doorbell.
why even bother with delivery at this point if youre going to have to collect parcels from the post office every. single. time. youre expecting one. the post office just becomes an inconvenient parcel locker with queues that doesn't let you collect your package past 1pm. just save yourself the headache and use the parcel lockers. youll have to pick up the package anyway in most cases, at least with the parcel lockers you can pick them up at any time of the day.
I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for our wonderful postwoman in Balzan, Rosanne Farrugia. Her efficiency and dedication to her job are truly commendable! Every day, rain or shine, with a smile, she ensures that we receive our packages promptly. Thank you for your hard work and commitment.

International mail takes extremely long, you cannot do business this way. Sometimes you need a letter with an original signature, and it takes so long that my counterpart abroad thinks I'm not interested anymore. For example today I received a letter from Germany that was mailed 10 days ago. My replies take even longer. And the postage is much higher from Malta than from Germany (1.91 vs. 1.25).
BTW: When I send regular mail from Germany to Switzerland, it arrives day +1 or +2... So it is not the foreign part that is slow.
If Malta Post is interested: I volunteer to post two letters from Germany to Malta resp. Switzerland the same day in the same letter box and report the delivery times here.

I bought something from Temu, I always received packages with the same address that I wrote down. I contacted Maltapost and the answer machine said ‘if you have a package contact the seller because we deliver the packages everyday’. I contacted the seller and told me that Maltapost said I had the wrong address. Still haven’t received package and it’s been in Malta from the 4th! Maltapost disgusting.

The service from MaltaPost is good! Better than in some other countries I have lived in. Delivering your package home, calling the bell in the street and you just go down to get it. Very rarely fails. Super!
But the bureaucratic oneline forms introduced 2025 when sending a package abroad are horrible, takes 15 minutes to go through an ocean of weird categories to describe the contents in your package. I will probably stop sending packages. -1 star for this.
They are beyond thick don't knock how knock on a door just to deliver a letter I don't have id due awaiting passport which takes longer than 12 days so now they lost my item a fine will be issued to them...

I picked up an item from an Easipik locker, meaning only the post workers had an access to the package, and the box was torn open and empty. The item worth over 100 euros missing. And all they offer you at the post office is to write an email which is never replied to. They are literally thieves. A shame of Malta. Hope your packages are stolen too.

They need to stop with the stupid bs paper that is supposedly written in english but it always looks gibberish like sanskrit because they could care less about their job and POSTING THE DAMNED MISSED PAPER INSTEAD OF RIGNING THE BELL.
Thankfully I have a camera and did a complaint with the footage because this is unacceptable. Also instead of the complaint emails which 1/5 lead to noware and the complaint paper that I have to print and write because they don't have a proper channel like this is telling on the type of garbage morale they have.
You get a faster response here than their very own service.... unbelievable

Maltapost always gets my order to my door the next day it arrives at Malta, I just wish there was a way it wouls tell you an estimated time for your delivery.

The company can improve by not lying and saying a delivery could not be made because the recipient was not available to receive it when that person, myself, waited all day to take delivery!! Notice of a failed delivery was NOT PLACED IN LETTERBOX!!! Like they said it was. I’m furious as this is the third time it’s happened. STOP LYING!

Worst delivery service in malta.
They will deliver to offices on weekends which are obviously closed, and only attempt Delivery ONCE. Then they will force you to pay 6 euros just for a second attempt.
Customer care is a useless joke they just say that's how it is and that its not possible to not deliver to an office address during non-office hours. If you ever have a choice never select maltapost.

Why cant you tell at least approximate time there will be a delivery? Is it expected that people are home all day? Had a missed call, called back literally 2 minutes later, no response, no option for re-delivery for some reason and now i need to go, being pregnant, pick up this heavy parcel during working week. and its not a first time. Some basic customer care shall be there.

Asked me to come down, leaving a telco I had to take lift to get my package. When meeting he said he needs my ID. Why don't tell it before or why is this young person not able to deliver to my apartment or at least tell we what he needs to hand over this package. What a low level of service.
