Stay far away from this company

Stay far away from this company. Terrible customer service if you ever need it. Do not use Lucky if you ever have to leave the country. Should you forget to Top Up you cannot access your account because they do not send verification text out of the country. Nor does Lucky allow their service reps to make an international phone call to speak with you so you can access your account. You have to pay long distance to call them. This is a so called telecommunications company. Developing countries have better services for less money. After several futile attempts to pay my bill the customer service rep simply stopped emailing.

Kafkaesque nightmare service experience

When I tried to set up the e sim, it did not work. When I tried to sign into the account, the system said my email was incorrect. This made it impossible to reset my password and username. I had three chats with Lucky Mobile to try to resolve the problem, but they sent me in circles. The first one sent me to the same link that would not recognize my email, after confirming that the email was correct. The second one disconnected when I tried to get information they requested. The third one said I had no account and sent me a link to create the account. That system asked for a code sent to the phone number that I was trying to set up. The third one also sent me a link to an old Virgin account to link the new number to that, which also did not work. I repeatedly asked them to cancel my account, but they only said it would automatically cancel if I did not pay. But they have my credit card number. I am concerned that they will just charge my credit card without my permission. In sum, their system makes it impossible to use the service and their chat agents only offer solutions that do not work. I cannot use the service and they will not cancel it for me. It is a nightmarish situation that should be illegal.

Horrible Service

I’ve had lucky mobile for about a year and it’s been working fine up until the point where now I can no longer receive any bars of service in my house and when I go outside I get 0.4 mb per second. Meanwhile many other people near me get way better service. Even on 3 bars I can’t load a 720p video 😃

Their billing system is one of the worst I have encountered

Over the past year I have received messages that some of my payments were past due. I found this very strange as I am on the auto payment plan. I ignored then and a day later everything was fine.

The last one however was different. I received the message and then they disabled my phone. Were it not for my tablet and an external wifi connection I would be out of luck. 3 hours later, I finally had my phone working again.

Customer service is brutal

Customer service is brutal. Twice I got someone who was actively antagonistic. I could see being that way if I was being rude or angry, but I was not. After 3 times contacting them without proper help, I give up.

RUN. No way to contact a human

the local toronto number listed on the site and on the sim card is deactivated. The other number is a robot. The website has not allowed activation of a new sim for 3 weeks. The robot doesn't connect you to a human unless you already have an active SIM.

Wish I could give zero stars

Wish I could give zero stars.
Everyone in my household, 4 of us, switched to Lucky Mobile less than a month ago. 2 of us switched from good2go mobile, who claimed that the transition would be "seamless". 3 weeks into having the service, all of our accounts were suspended, unprompted, with multiple customer service workers stating they did not receive a payment from the credit card company, even though Lucky sent payment confirmation texts and emails to each one of us. The credit card company confirmed that the payments DID go through. After being transferred through to 6 workers over the span of 5 hours and telling them what our credit card company said, they finally admitted it was an issue on their end and that having 4 accounts linked to the same credit card was causing the issue. The worker added a note about the credit card and said that there will be NO problems in the future and 4 accounts CAN be covered by 1 card. The next day, our accounts were suspended AGAIN because they can't be validated and, after talking with 3 more customer service employees, we were told going in store to validate them is the only option since we've been with Lucky Mobile for less than 3 months.
The fact that the in person validation, which I was informed is "new" after having my account suspended for a second time, was never mention, or seemed to be the cause of our service interruptions, by the 9 employees nor the Lucky Mobile website at any point proves how unreliable and inefficient they are. Also, they claimed they didn't receive our intital top-up payments, which they did, and even sent TWO confirmation messages about. Had we not have contacted the credit card company, we would be paying double the amount, almost $200 for the 4 of us, for a $19+tax plan each, for just 3 weeks of having the service.
If you want to not be ripped off, save time and have reliable service do NOT choose Lucky Mobile

Lucky is the worst service provider of all. Just because One credit card was blocked, I cannot pay the bill from a credit card ever again. This is so basic and nonsense. Do not ever buy Lucky at all!! I wanted to give 0 stars but we do not have an option. Imagine, not letting me pay from my different cards in the middle of the night and suspending services exactly after a day or two of missed payments and asking to top up with vouchers. Who is open selling vouchers at night? TERRIBLE!!!

HTime to look for a new provider the reviews say it at all. I guess it reflects the prices we pay that’s too bad. we need to understand the people on the other side of the phone line we live in Canada speak properly or higher people that can speak English. It’s a business we need to understand. Does that make sense to you?

I switched from Good2Go Mobile to Lucky…

I switched from Good2Go Mobile to Lucky Mobile because they were revamping their platform and teaming up with Lucky Mobile. Because of a pending postal strike I did as they suggested and picked up a new SIM card at my local Bell Mobile store where I was charged $11.20 for it. They had promised a FREE SIM card in their email messages, so once I worked through the nightmare of installing their SIM card and activating it through their multiple chat and phone agents, I tried to get a refund or a credit for the price I paid for the SIM card. After chatting to an agent, then being passed on to two other agents who I could barely understand, I was told in no uncertain terms that I would NOT be getting any kind of rebate or credit for the purchased SIM card. No amount of persuasion or reasoning would budge them from their position of NO REFUND for the card even though they had promised a FREE SIM card if I ordered one by mail, OR picked one up from my local Bell Mobile store or any of their other outlets. I'm really regretting signing on to this Lucky Mobile service now and I should have gone with a company that has an actual store that you can walk into and get personal service instead of multiple, barely English-speaking agents that just pass you around from one agent to another because your issue is not in their jurisdiction or area of knowledge. It's a nightmare. On the first day of trying to contact them it was something like a 1.5 hour wait for a chat, and about a 6 hour wait for an agent to phone me. I just hung up and quit trying for that first day. The second day I discovered a button called 'Expedited Service' which put me in touch almost immediately with a chat agent. The 'robots' they use to chat via AI are pretty much useless and highly irritating. Most of the time they can't understand what you want and keep you going in circles. Stay away, or get away and never go back. Now I'm stuck with this service, since I don't use a phone very much, and only have one for emergencies. For just a few dollars more a month I could have had a much better mobile phone company with an actual store that I could have physically walked into and got taken care of.

ABSOLUTE RIPOFF

Good2Go Mobile always worked just fine for me. They were closing and sent me a Sim Card to join LuckyMobile. I notice that Bell sent the sim card. Day 1. I just switched this morning. First phone call broke up so badly we could not complete it. Barely 1 bar showing. Was told by Chat AI to go outside to use the phone. Yes can you see a senior out in the snow calling for help on a winter night. Absolutely useless service. I cannot even phone them to cancel.

quick and easy turned irritating, why ruin it.

Get rid of the AI system. the old one was perfect took 30 seconds, this stupid thing alone makes me want to to leave. why would you change it, it's annoying now. I don't want to talk to it, used to press numbers and done. quick, easy.
change it back, it's awful! I just want to add my damn top up card, I don't want to hear it speak, or waste my time dealing with it.

They are throttling my data so much it…

They are throttling my data so much it makes my data unusable when I phone and complain it magically improves for a few days then like clockwork drops off to the point I cant even load a page when I call they offer me a free month of service and bonus data but I keep telling them why would I want more data when I cant use the data I have and the ability for the signal is there becuse it gets better after I complain or activate a VPN but after so long my VPN won't stay connected and I cant access the internet at all im paying for service they are not providing. And everytime ive talked to them about throttling ive been told they dont do that whatsoever but just today the agent addmittited they throttle everyone's data so they also lied and another thing as of last week ive started getting collection calls for accounts that are not mine and after pressing one of the colection firms they confirmed it was my carrier who provided them with my number so thanks for the blatant breach of privacy I had my identity stolen a couple years ago and have been trying to fix my credit and they just undid two years of work and fees paying for lawyers and hundreds of hours writing letters and making calls they just pushed me under the buss one of there own customers its discusting im going to the CRTC and making a formal complaint and asking for my service fees back for the last six months im also gonna go on every social media sight and post how they are charging people for service they are not providing and how they lie about throttling and just stop the chat window when your talking to them this company is down right deplorable and should not be stealing what people pay for i coukd see if I was using a ton of data on an unlimited plan but im not my plan is 75 gig I use about 50 gig a month so even the fact that im paying for data I dont even use is another reason this is ridiculous there getting paid for 20-30 gig a month thats not even bieng used its a total scam and when I just now tryed to get in touch with a supervisor or somone in charge the rep disconnected the chat window and when I went to open a new one the apps all if a sudden said technical difficulties please tey again later and my service signal has dropped right off to nothing im on wifi now because I have no data they just got paid a week ago and now I cant even use my phone and there's a wildfire kilometers away and I cant access the sites to find out whats happening they just blocked my service wile im in a fire zone and now I cant get alerts or anything they just left me without a means of communication wile im in an active forest fire zone if wind changes and crews cant stop it could be on top of me in a matter of 30 min and I have no way to know whats happening discusting and imoral I told them im in a fire zone with a raging wild fire and they closd the chat window and my data stoped and won't work so basically they dont care if I burn up and all my farm animals burn up they dont care its unimaginable somones would put another person's life in danger becuse they didnt like that I called them out on there lies its beyond repulsive

Lucky Mobile is the anti-Bell.

In the year or so I’ve been with Lucky the price hasn’t gone up, the cellular service is as expected, and my three or so chats with customer service have either met or exceeded my expectations. I shop around, and over the years have been with Bell, Telus, Rogers, Fido, Virgin, Freedom and Public. My Lucky experience has been the best.
