My experience with Lodgis has been very positive.

My experience with Lodgis has been very positive.

The agency was extremely professional, organized and helpful throughout the entire process. Communication was always clear, efficient and courteous, and the team was always willing to assist whenever needed.

I was particularly impressed by the inventory process, which was extremely detailed and thorough. This level of precision creates a strong sense of transparency and trust.

Overall, the whole experience was smooth, well organized and very professional. I would definitely recommend Lodgis.

They rented us an apartment with dangerous health risks

We rented an apartment in Paris for 4,5 months for our daughter. The apartment is nice but from the very beginning we faced a huge problem with the smoking neighbour who smokes daily in his house and all the smoke comes through ventilation system to the apartment of our daughter and stays in the bathroom and the living room. Living in such conditions has dangerous health risks. We have spoken to the neighbour and to the landlord multiple times, but they said he can smoke inside his house. No solution for our daughter who has to live there as a passive smoker. Contacting the Lodgis agency has no result as they don't answer our e-mails at all. Booking reference: 346429945.
Update after reading the reaction of Lodgis:
On the internet it says:
"If smoke is entering your Lodgis rental apartment, it constitutes a health and safety risk, violating the landlord's obligation to provide a safe, decent dwelling. Immediately contact Lodgis via your tenant portal to report this technical issue. They are responsible for addressing maintenance problems that threaten health or safety". Why don't Lodgis want to interfere?

Dear Ms Peters,

We are sincerely sorry to hear about your daughter's situation and fully understand the inconvenience this may cause on a daily basis.

However, we would like to point out that, as mentioned in the lease, Lodgis acts as an intermediary in the rental of the property. The day-to-day management of the property and any issues relating to the building or neighbourhood are the direct responsibility of the owner. Unfortunately, we are unable to do much in this case and invite you to contact your landlord.

Kind regards,

Great support from Salma

I was supported by Salma during the whole process to find a place. She was a strong 5 stars evaluation, always available for info and fast replies.

I still believe that to visit the house before signing should be always feasible, but apparently in Paris that's not always the case. Cannot give the 5 stars hence, 4 is the average between 5 salma and 3 lodgis.

NIGHTMARE

I believe many of the 4–5 star reviews are not very representative. Everyone I’ve spoken to who has used them reports the same issues: poor professionalism, lack of communication (once you sign the contract, it becomes very hard to get answers) and apartments that are dirty or very different from the photos.
In my case, on top of this, I’ve been dealing for weeks with serious apartment issues (utilities and maintenance) that have been handled extremely slowly. Honestly, there are many agencies that are far more reliable and efficient. From my experience, this has been extremely stressful and disappointing.

Hello,

We are surprised by this general statement that “everyone you spoke to” reported similar issues. Each rental situation is handled individually with structured follow-up.

In your case, the flat was cleaned by professionals before your arrival and was in good condition. Our teams also intervened to resolve your Internet connection issue.

That being said, we acknowledge that response times can sometimes be longer than expected when coordinating utilities or maintenance matters, and we sincerely apologize if this contributed to your frustration.

We remain available should you wish to discuss your experience further.

⭐ Review – Lodgis

I rented an apartment in Paris through Lodgis on behalf of my daughter. From the outset, the owner failed to comply with basic rental obligations and, after the agency fee was paid, the initial Lodgis contact stopped responding to emails entirely. Subsequent attempts to reach the company’s management and legal department also received no response.

As a service company, Lodgis should clearly communicate from the beginning its processes, responsibilities, and the limits of its involvement. Tenants and owners are equally important parties in the rental relationship and must coexist under clearly defined rules. In our case, Lodgis’ conduct reflected unequal treatment, particularly when dealing with foreign clients, undermining the transparency and trust expected from an international agency.

Update: Thank you for your prompt response. However, the facts do not align with the content presented, particularly considering that the matter remains ongoing and has not yet been concluded. The handling of the case, to date, has not been effective in bringing it to resolution, which demonstrates that the points formally raised have not been adequately considered.

Should Lodgis have a genuine interest in understanding the situation from the client’s perspective and in reviewing the facts in a complete and impartial manner, I remain fully available to provide further clarification and to share the documentation that substantiates what has been occurring.

Hello Ms Martins,

Thank you for your feedback.

We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. Lodgis acted as an intermediary, without a management mandate, which limited our ability to act directly on behalf of the owner.

While we understand that certain situations involving landlords can be frustrating, our teams duly reminded all parties of the laws and regulations applicable to your situation.

We sincerely regret that the response times may have contributed to your dissatisfaction, but we categorically reject any suggestion of unequal treatment. Lodgis applies the same procedures and standards to all its customers, regardless of their nationality.

We remain at your disposal if you wish to discuss this matter directly and constructively.

an agency to avoid

I would advise any persons requiring temporary accommodation in Paris to avoid this agency. I have lived in Paris for a number of years and also own a house in France. My sons have been studying in Paris for a number of years. As we needed a temporary short-term let whilst searching for a long-term solution we reached out to Lodgis. We found them unhelpful, incompetent and rude. Furthermore, when the bathroom pipes leaked into the appartment of the neighbour below , they could not be reached during a four-day long weekend with no number to contact them and leaving us to cover the costs without any reimboursement. Interestingly their regulations concerning this type of event were changed quickly afterwards in order to cover themselves in the future. They seem to have a high turnover of staff who have little training and are most likely very underpaid. As we tried to recuperate the money paid for the damages (the emergency plumber needed paying upfront of course) by withholding rent, we were met with extreme rudness, shouting matches and complete arrogance. We were significantly left out of pocket and given the situation eager to leave the accommodation asap. I would like to point out that as a frequent traveller, Air BnB has never disappointed. I am not in the habit of publishing online reviews but the behaviour of the staff as well as the agencies overt policy of "fleecing" clients leaves me with no choice but to ensure that agencies like these are called out for their appalling business practices. To the Lodgis communciations and damage limitations officer, dont bother responding to this review. Actions speak louder than words...Finally my decision to post my review following events in 2024 is a result of reading reviews since and making a conscious effort to ensure others do not fall into the same trap...hence the fictional date as all reviews have be posted within 12 months

Hello,

We are surprised to read your comment. Lodgis operates exclusively within a regulated framework for furnished rentals and does not provide short-term or holiday accommodation services. If you wanted this type of service, Airbnb was indeed a better solution.

The events referred to in your review date back more than a year. Since then, our procedures — particularly regarding incident management and emergency contacts — have been updated and strengthened.

If you wish to conduct a factual review of the situation, this can only be done after receiving a customer reference or booking reference.

I paid the apt and I slept in the hotel

Signed the contract, they don't offer any assistance. If you have an issue, they simply respond to contact the landlord. The landlord refused to deliver the keys on time, even if the contract was signed. So I was forced to book an hotel and to pay the full rental amount. In my experience, Lodgis works in the interest of the landlord only.

Easy to rent online without visiting the apt. Apt was good and matched the photos
But the agency is slow to respond in case of any questions and issues. During the check-out deduces cleaning fees for an apt that was left clean.

best agency for renting remotely

sometimes renting without having the possibility of carrying out a feet on the ground research can be frustrating and disorienting, but with Lodgis I had a great experience. I was looking for a flat in Paris, which is a super difficult market do to the volume of people searching for a place and the amount of scammers waiting to profit off foreigners doing a house research remotely. Great experience as well with the person helping me, Marcel; he showed great care and was really quick in help me securing an accomodation!

Unprofessional Agent - Poor communication and Ignorance

Very little communication. When I asked why they required so much personal information for a short-term rental, I received no reply, they just ghosted me. The agent didn't even know their own rental period restrictions. Website had technical issues. Completely unprofessional.

Lodgis is terrible at servicing clients

Lodgis is one of the worst service providers I have ever experienced, and I strongly recommend avoiding it.
At first, I was pleased with them, because they've found me an apartment to rent in Paris.
But problems started to occur immediately. Upon entering the apartment, it turned out they hadn't fixed any of the faults pointed out to them in advance. They did it only after I sent a second request.
During my 2+ years of stay in the apartment, my customer representative changed at least 5 times. In none of those instances did I receive an update regarding it. I've always found it out when trying to contact my representative and then receiving a reply that she is no longer my representative and that there's a new one (the last one couldn't even talk English on the phone, only write it in Email. But she was actually the most efficient of them all).
Besides her, all of the representatives were hard to reach. In case of need, they would not reply to an Email until at least the third or fourth inquiry. One of them ignored five messages, but when I CC'd her manager on the sixth, she replied within a few minutes.
When they were finally up to handle a problem, it would take them a long time, even if it was urgent. And they would do it in a clumsy, inefficient way. For example, when the apartment's microwave stopped working, they bought a new one, though I suggested they send an electrician first to check the socket. It turned out the original microwave was just fine - the socket was faulty. They just wasted time and money on a new Microwave. There was also a time when a worn-out or broken part of the toilet water container had to be replaced, and they claimed it's my responsibility to do so, not theirs.
One client representative (who definitely was the worst one) was late for a video call we scheduled. She then also cut it short, despite me saying I still had issues to discuss, and left with "If there's anything else - E-mail my manager". I did, but of course, didn't receive any reply. She also gave me the wrong details of the apartment's Internet account, so when it went down and I called customer support, they couldn't recognize the account based on the details I provided, which left me offline for a long time - a major problem, as I use the Internet for my work.
And finally, not surprisingly, after I left the apartment, they took money from my deposit to compensate for made-up lacks, like an electronic cattle that was never there (there was an out-of-order one that I haven't touched).
Lodgis's service repeatedly baffled me with its lack of professionalism, decent service, and treatment of paying clients. So, I strongly suggest NOT using Lodgis' service, which is amateurish, unprofessional, unattentive, unreliable, and impolite. Beware.

TRAVAIL FANTASTIQUE

Marcel at Logis did a fantastic job assisting us in an apartment search, and held our "hand" through the Garantme process and all of the necessary steps to successfully rent a wonderful apartment in Paris. He was very attentive, and responded quickly with helpful assistance. I highly recommend this agency. Thanks for my favorite Realtor in Paris, Christine Brooks, for the super referral.

Terrible service

Terrible service. We rented our apartment through the company but now I am not able to have any information regarding my deposit 2 months after checking out of our rental. Phone does not get answered - tried many numbers and all fall on voicemail ("ghost phone numbers"?). Email does not get answered about the deposit to be returned. When staff is on holiday there is no auto-reply so you just keep waiting. I even wrote an email to the CEO and no answer. Totally unacceptable. Things might be fine as long as you pay like any decent tenant...but good luck once you need to get your deposit back!

Dear Manuel,

We’re sincerely sorry to read about your experience. Your feedback matters a lot to us, and we truly regret that you felt unsupported after moving into the apartment.

Please know that we did respond to your messages and took action by contacting two different maintenance companies to handle the issues with the hot water and the washing machine. We understand how frustrating technical problems can be, especially at the start of a rental, and we always aim to resolve them as quickly as possible — even if the intervention depends on third-party availability.

We remain available if you need further assistance and hope to be able to restore your trust in our service.
