So far, so bad...

Bought two 'non stick' hahahaha, pans from Lidl.
The Silver Crest brand.
Wow. They are as non stick as a really sticky thing.
Three rashers of bacon and one egg all pretty much became a bacon omelette!
So, not fit for purpose.
Rather than go into store and put a shop worker on the spot as to how to handle it, I thought I'd try there customer 'care' team hahahaha (lots of laughs in this review)!
First thing I tried was their bot chat, which they've named Lia, Ahhh.
Many questions later I think I had the first pan passed to the 'care' team.
I tried the second pan and the bot decided this one could only be handled by the manufacturer through their warranty.
Totally wrong, my contract is with Lidl.
So I sent an email explaining the situation.
They replied to the bot conversation but couldn't find my email.
I explained the situation and was told to send proof of purchase (fair enough) and pictures of the items with barcodes?
Eventually I was told my case was being reviewed.
At this point I felt I had to explain the law.
They are not fit for purpose, I bought them less than two months ago, I'm entitled to a refund and that I was just being courteous going this route and there was no need for a review.
The reply was that as the manufacturer didn't have any more in stock as replacement (I didn't ask for a replacement), they would send a refund letter to my postal address?
I've never sent them my postal address so how they know that I don't know.
I told them such and asked why it couldn't be sent to my email address.
I know Lidl is German and the law may be different there but this is the UK.
BTW, I was stunned to see so many negative reviews on here, and they never answer to offer to put things right.
We must rethink our shopping regime.

Rude Customer Staff Named Walter

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding an upsetting incident that occurred at your Lidl store in Romford involving a member of staff named Walter.

My family and I had finished our shopping and were at the store when my sister decided to use the toilet. The toilet door appeared to be locked, so she approached a member of staff for assistance and asked whether she needed a key to access the toilet. The staff member told her that if the door was closed, then somebody must be inside.

My young daughter then followed my sister towards the toilet. I did not initially realise that she had followed her. While my sister was trying to stop my daughter from opening the toilet door, Walter suddenly shouted at my young daughter, saying, “Don’t keep on opening the door.”

I found his manner of speaking to my child completely inappropriate and intimidating. My daughter is only a young child and was visibly frightened and upset by the way he shouted at her. I immediately intervened and told him not to shout at her because she is only a child.

Instead of apologising or calmly explaining the situation, Walter became argumentative and directed insulting and inappropriate language towards us, including calling us “stupid” and making comments about having “little brains.” He repeatedly said that he was “only protecting your daughter,” but his behaviour at that moment was anything but appropriate or reassuring. His aggressive manner and shouting had already frightened my child.

I completely understand that staff have a responsibility to ensure that customers use the toilet facilities appropriately and that doors are not repeatedly opened when someone may be inside. However, there is absolutely no justification for shouting at a young child or insulting her parents/family members. The situation could have been handled calmly and respectfully by simply explaining to us that someone was using the toilet.

I am particularly concerned about the way Walter spoke to my child and then continued to make insulting comments when I raised my concern. As a parent, I found this behaviour extremely upsetting and unacceptable.

Lidl app

Been using Lidl for very long time all of a sudden the app does not work says it needs to be updated but my phone [ i phone 7 ] apparently is too old to update the new app ? I am sure thousands of customers have older phones so are now being penalised for their loyal custom, you need to sort this issue out Lidl, remember other supermarkets are available !!!!

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience – poor customer service and serious safety concern
Visited Lidl today with my family and had a very upsetting experience. While my partner was trying to take an item from the bakery section, a sharp object caught her legging and ripped it. Thankfully she was not seriously injured, but she was understandably very shaken and could not comfortably remain in the store.
We explained what had happened to the cashier, Rachel, expecting the situation to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, she showed very little concern and did not even apologise. She said she would inform the manager, but the manager did not come over, so I eventually had to ask to speak to one myself.
When the manager came over, instead of showing concern about a customer potentially being injured by a sharp object, we were made to feel as though we were causing an inconvenience and holding up the queue. The priority seemed to be getting us to pay and move rather than properly dealing with the safety incident.
I was also extremely unhappy with Rachel's attitude towards me afterwards. I found her behaviour rude, dismissive and disrespectful, and I felt that I was treated in a discriminatory and racist manner.
This experience was unacceptable. A sharp object in a customer area is a serious safety issue, and the response from the staff made the situation even worse.
I strongly believe Lidl should investigate this incident, including the bakery area, CCTV, staff conduct and how the incident was handled. I would not expect any customer to be treated this way after reporting a potential safety hazard.

Zero stars review regarding Lidl unable to count regarding Lidl Plus and due to Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) under Groceries Market Investigation (Controlled Land) Order 2010

Zero stars review regarding Lidl unable to count regarding Lidl Plus and due to Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) under Groceries Market Investigation (Controlled Land) Order 2010.

Only four points instead of 6.

Then the CMA found out that Lidl was not counting items 40% under.

With each kind of crisps not counted so for example salt and vinegar, cheese and onion and prawn cocktail would be counted as one not three therefore Lidl were under estimating the numbers of different items on the shelves.

I really like lidl But

I really like lidl and was so happy when they opened a new store in Wantage OX12. I would have given 5 stars but they have no shopping baskets and stopped using the shallow trolley. They only have deep trollies now that hurt my back putting produce in/out. Only store I know that have stopped using them and baskets. Surely they know it was a mistake and start using them again

Poor Customer Service

Poor Customer Service
At Lon-Wembley stadium store, August 11, 2026 time 13.50, stacking shelves seems to be the main priority for staff, with customer service coming a distant second.
The store has a long-standing policy of under-staffing the tills, pushing customers towards self-service checkouts, which often aren’t staffed either. This means the checkout operator has to abandon their till and queue to resolve issues.
There have even been times when one staff member is juggling a checkout, the self-service tills, and putting out newspapers.
While Lidl staff are expected to multi-task, this feels excessive.
Today, just after the store opened, I asked the assistant stocking the bread if they had a specific loaf. They told me they had two pallets of bread to put out and suggested I walk around the store and come back to the bread display later. Basically, it felt like they were saying, “Go away and check for yourself later once I’ve finished my job.”
Just to be clear, I’m not blaming the staff member, but the store management. They’re the ones who set the staff schedules, assign tasks, and should be responsible for making sure the store is properly stocked before opening.
After collecting the goods that I need to the checkout point, a leady staff was working with full of anger, she started to scream any cry telling me hurry up, my manager told me to close the county. I told her relax do not scream just finish and take my payment then close, then I’ll of asudden she told me I don’t care and I denied to serve you, she throw away my money and stay away, then some other staff came to take my payment. That make me really shocked.

Poor service

We visited the Mablethorpe store and with it being a holiday resort it was very busy.
We purchased quite a few items and with the store being busy and the lack of open checkouts we reluctantly used the self service checkouts that to be honest I try and avoid.
All went well until we came to scanning the French stick, no barcode, I noticed the hovering operative virtually next to me and asked how to scan it through, well I was shocked by her negative answer, she looked me straight in the face and said “Look it up” with no explanation or direction on how to do that. Sorry to say that brought out the worst in me, I am doing the businesses job for them by scanning my own shopping and when I hit a snag I get a negative answer. This operative soon realised what she had done and tried to redeem herself but unfortunately offered no apology!!!
What if I had a disability like being dyslexic and was unable to “look things up”
Terrible service Lidl Mablethorpe, think you need to review your training and customer service.

Prices are good but that's about all…

Prices are good but that's about all it's got going for it. The range and choice of goods is very poor, so you end up having to shop elsewhere to buy items that are commonplace even in small corner stores. Not being able to scan as you shop is another bugbear because going through the tills can be a nightmare with some cashiers virtually throwing your shopping at you. Personally I prefer to go elsewhere and maybe pay a little more, but overall the shopping experience is so much better.

LIDL IN PRICE AND DISGUSTING IN QUALITY

LIDL IN PRICE AND DISGUSTING IN QUALITY.
Why Lidl GB sell poor quality food whilst in Italy and Germany is a completely different story?
I bought lately a smoked salmon supposedly from Scotland.
Whoever decided to stock that stuff should be dismissed.
Salty, thick pieces, not sliced, all stuck in one block as there was no film.
Daylight fraud! Criminal offence committed!

I have just been in the Pemberton store in Wigan
One checkout open that had a massive que,So i was forced to use the self scan
This was a nightmare due to the items I had. Then I dropped my receipt in my bag. I turned to exit the store and they have got some stupid system in place, that you have to scan the receipt to leave. I had to mess about trying to find my receipt at the bottom of my bag. Stupid system I will be going to Aldi in future.

Lidl Netherfield

Lidl Netherfield, Nottingham. I don’t visit this store very often and only go in because I’ve run out of a few bits. Previous visits sometimes involved long queues, half empty shelves, fresh produce past its sell by date. Some other visits have included rudeness to the point of aggression from check out staff. Today was no different, unfortunately, regarding staff.

Lidl, please consider some self service tills in this store. It would help with the one person serving on a till scenario and a queue building up. And customers can avoid any unhappy, rude staff.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the Lidl Bolton store. I visited the store to return an item, but my return was refused without a clear explanation or any genuine effort to help resolve the issue.

As a customer, I expected a professional, respectful, and fair approach. Instead, I felt that my concerns were dismissed, which left me feeling frustrated and undervalued. Good customer service is not only about selling products but also about dealing with customers fairly when problems arise.

I hope Lidl reviews the way returns are handled at this store and provides better training to staff so that customers are treated with respect and consistency. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly reduced my confidence in shopping at Lidl, and I will think twice before returning.
