No compassion

I am extremely disappointed with my experience.
I purchased these items as gifts for my mother. She became unexpectedly ill on Christmas Eve and sadly passed away shortly after New Year’s. I contacted the company to request a compassionate, one time exception in the form of store credit and asked that the situation be reviewed by upper management.
Despite these circumstances and my loyalty as a customer and member, the request was denied strictly on policy.
I understand that companies have rules, but compassion should still have a place in situations like this. Unfortunately, that was missing here. Because of how this was handled, I will no longer be shopping with this brand and wanted others to be aware of my experience.

No more Petites? Shame on Laura's

Shame on Laura's for discontinuing their Petite line of clothing. As a woman under 5' tall and short waisted, it was one of the few stores left that I could buy clothes that fit properly. When I discovered this at the Eglinton & Warden location, the salesperson was less than empathic to my plight and argued (and argured and argued...) with me that this is for the best. I finally stated that I didn't appreciate her arguing with me, the customer, or her continued lack of empathy and asked her to leave me alone. I hope another company will recognize that petite women deserve to have nice fitting clothes that don't need a ton of alterations.

Dear Laura Management Team,

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and recognition for the outstanding customer service I received from Sylvia Cook at your Laura location in Burlington.

I visited the store on Sunday while shopping for the perfect accessory for my son’s winter wedding at the end of February. From the moment I walked in, Sylvia greeted me warmly and immediately took the time to listen to what I was looking for. She stayed with me throughout the entire search, offering honest, thoughtful, and supportive advice.

Thanks to her dedication and exceptional service, I ended up purchasing not only the accessory I had in mind, but an entire new Mother of the Bride outfit, along with a black faux fur stole. Her approach was never rushed or sales-driven; instead, she was genuine, truthful, and clearly focused on ensuring I felt confident and comfortable with my choices.

So impactful was my experience that I returned to the store the following day to purchase a white stole for my future daughter-in-law to wear on her wedding day.

Sylvia’s professionalism, friendliness, and authenticity are truly an example for others in customer service. By the time I left, we were on a first-name basis, and because of her, I will most certainly return to the store. Sylvia deserves to be commended for her dedication and excellence.

Please extend my thanks to her and recognize her for the exceptional service she provides.

My husband went to buy me a Christmas…

My husband went to buy me a Christmas gift from Laura’s. He told her I need petite size medium.
Sales clerk disregarded “petite “. Sold him regular size large. Everything is too big & has to be returned.
What is wrong with you people. No size petite. Sucks

Very disappointed with the customer…

Very disappointed with the customer service at Fairview Laura store due to their manager’s behavior. I visited this store to ask about a price adjustment and a return. The manager was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to listen. Instead of explaining calmly, she told me to go back to another store and refused to help. This was an unpleasant experience that does not reflect good customer service.

My husband ordered a Laura gift card…

My husband ordered a Laura gift card for his mother for Christmas on the 12th of Dec. to be delivered to her in St. John's Newfoundland. On the tracking it showed that tnt card is in Mount Pearl since the 16th of Dec. in which Mount Pearl is only a 10 minute drive from my mother-inlaws house. It is now the 22nd of Dec and we called Laura customer service and the girl told us that Brevard of the delay of the ferry and the fact that the card was transferred to Canada Post, the card could possibly get to her by Christmas or after. On the Laura website it says delivery within a couple of days! I get it that it's Christmas time and deliveries could be delayed! But on the website it said delivery by FedEx. This is misleading of FedEx is going to hand off thier packages to another courier. Needless to say, we are not impressed and may never order from Laura again.

Online sale scam hidden store policies …

Recently the store advertised a Black Friday sale on line. I bought 2 pieces unfortunately none of them fit. Went to the store less than 24h after receiving the package and was informed because the items had 40% off they can’t issue a refund. I will not recommend anyone to buy anything on line from this store, their policy are hide and they don’t even know who to do math they will keep your money even if the discount was only 20%. if you are planing to save time shopping online this is not the store.

Worst customer service

I bought a coat online, based on the sizes given online, I ordered a medium. I received it, and tried it on, it is huge compared to the sizing chart. I called customer service for an exchange to a size small. Customer service were both abusive and dismissive and said this is final sale. They have my size in stock, but I was told to sell it!!!! This is disgusting!!! Never again!

I used to shop online at Laura’s all the time. It was my go to place for jeans. The fact that they no longer offer or indicate petite sizes means that I will no longer be shopping there. Very disappointed in this store. My guess is there are a few lost customers as a result of this.

I bought a dress for my daughter

I bought a dress for my daughter. I kept all the tags on it and had the receipt. I went over the 21 day period. They refused to let me exchange, get a credit or a refund. The dress was full price. It was not a clearance item or on sale. I even asked to get a different size. They said the policy is no refunds, no exchange and no credits. It is so upsetting since I have bought a lot and I feel even if I did not, I should be able to get a credit. I emailed the store and they also did not agree to do anything. So frustrated and disappointed

I purchased a shirt a few days ago from…

I purchased a shirt a few days ago from a Laura store but when I got it home it didn't match what I needed it for. My daughter tried to return it for me today, but despite me calling the store and confirming that she could return it without my card as I was told the refund would be "automatically applied" back to my card, they told my daughter that they needed my card. She then asked for the shirt back so I could deal with it later, but the sales lady said it was too late because she put it on a gift card. My daughter called me about this and I told the lady that I did not want a gift card as this is not a store I shop at- I was told it was too late. I asked for it to be reversed, but she declined. I asked to just buy the shirt back with the gift card and then I would return it, but she said the money would have to go back to a gift card. She told my daughter to just buy something from the store and then sell it myself- seriously... that's complete BS. She then said that there was nothing to be done about it and to just take the gift card.

Well now I ABSOLUTELY will never shop there again. Ever. You basically forced me to have to buy something from you again as you refuse to give my money back (might I add that this shirt was close to $100) because you jumped the gun and issued a gift card rather than just giving the shirt back for me to deal with another time. Your solution was for me to buy something else and then try to sell it myself- great customer service (that's 100% sarcaatic).

I do not like being forced to do things, and it is well within my right to return items to your store for my money back, as per your OWN return policy.

Note to everyone else- do NOT shop at Laura unless you are 100000% sure that you will never need to return the item. Their customer service is terrible and they will not stand by their own policies.

Got the same condecending remarks as Rose B. Apparently they know better what fits than I do. Had them delete my account. Will not be shopping there anymore as they have nothing that fits.

Customer Service is terrible

Customer Service is terrible, and if you live in a remote location, don't try and return anything. They will not let you return via Canada Post, and if you don't have a FedEx drop off in your community, you're SOL. The customer service representative was rude and refused to assist with the return. These Canadian businesses then wonder why you shop in the US. Will never buy another garment from Laura or Melanie Lyn!!!! Such a bad experience.

Don't Waste Your Money

I purchased the navy knot satin clutch (item #122088 for $58) at the end of August for my son's wedding, which took place Oct 19. The clasp was extremely tight and hard to open. After opening it twice that day, the side of the purse separated from the frame, causing it to hang open. I tried to return it to the store, knowing it was past the return date, hoping I might be offered a credit note for obviously defective merchandise. "Nothing we can do". I told her to throw it in the garbage, because that's what it was, but salesperson repeated that she couldn't keep it, couldn't throw it away... Selling me an item that was useful for less than an hour? No problem. I've purchased from Laura for years, but this makes me question the quality of the rest of the merchandise they sell as well. Very disappointed with this response.

Horrible customer service

I bought a dress on line and it could not be pulled over the head. At the store they could see the problem but wouldn’t offer any compensation because it was final sale. Was told I should take it to a seamstress to have it fixed. Ridiculous solution to a brand new purchase. Very disappointed in this store and how I was treated.

Loyal Laura Petite customer

Loyal Laura Petite customer. I sent an email after noticing petite sizing removed online and was shocked at the abusive, condensing repsonse that I was mistaken believing I could only wear petites. I was told all women can wear regular sizes.As a 5 foot woman, the pant length is not the only issue! I will never shop Laura again !!'

I had purchased a dress for an upcoming…

I had purchased a dress for an upcoming wedding. While purchasing the dress I followed the size guide. I ordered the suggested size 16, when I received the dress it was huge on me . I called customer service line to ask if I could could exchange for a smaller size as it was final sale item. I was told I can exchange the dress but only in store. The closest store with the dress is almost two hours away. They have the smaller size in stock online but refused to do an online exchange and when I asked if it could be ordered to my closest store in my town I was also denied. I wasn't asking for my money back and was even willing to pay the shipping to get the dress in the proper size. I will never purchase another item from Laura and I will advise friends and family members not to as well. A store that is "suppose" to be higher end ,has the most ridiculous online exchange policy. I am now stuck with a dress that I cannot wear.

BAD Return Policy

Hello,
My online experience was the worst Ive ever had. Purchased 4 blouses on sale and they did not look good so when I tried to get a store credit, I was refused! What an completely out of touch policy and I will never shop at Laura’s again! I completely agree with the other review that predicted Laura’s bankruptcy because their online purchases can’t be returned for a store credit. Furthermore, it is NOT clearly written that final sale cannot be returned.
