Not good

Very poor communications, ordered wool on 02/04 still nothing, 10/04. Took 3 emails to get a reply. I ordered other wool at the same time, from other companies and it all came days ago ( including from Denmark) im afraid i wont buy from these again.

Good company

I tried ordering from different places and this company is in the top 3 if you’re in the UK. The dispatch takes a few days but it’s stated on the website. The order arrived within time frame given well packed and nothing missing.

10/10 will be back for more!

Easy to navigate website. Great selection of colours for the wool I was looking for and by far the cheapest I could find it. Order arrived quickly and even had additional balls of wool thrown in for no extra cost.
Will definitely use this company again.

3rd order from the company

3rd order from the company, shipping to Canada is affordable but not the fastest. Besides the extra shipping time I love the company, great product selections, always a sale and reliable service, great prices! Never had to deal with a return however, so would not be able to spreak on that

Satisfied Canadian

I am Canadian. Was reluctant to order from the UK but my order arrived in less than a week and all the skeins were from the same dye lot, with the dye lot specified on top of the bag. I even had a tracking number even tho I chose the less expensive shipping option.

No goods, no communication.

I placed an order on 19th February. Money left my account on 20th. An email on 21st said the goods had been shipped.

No package, no information and no response to my email.

I too, wish that I had read the reviews beforehand.

Won't cancel order

On Friday, I placed an order through their German language website. Immediately after placing that order, I realized they were shipping from the UK. So I replied to the confirmation email, cancelling that order. I sent the cancellation only seconds after that order, and sent another cancellation email maybe 30 minutes later, to make sure. They didn't respond on Saturday, which, fair enough. Then I sent them another cancellation email on Monday, at 12:42. At 13:51 I get an email with the shipping confirmation! That is unprofessional.

Terrible service- avoid unless you like throwing money away

Returned items from two orders in separate parcels. A month later, no refund or contact from them. I emailed them and they asked for proof of post as parcel may be lost. One parcel maybe but both??? Sent proof of postage over a week ago. No response. Tried again. Sill no response.
So disappointed in them as I used them several years ago with no problems. It's a shame they no longer have high standards or behave ethically.
All I can advise is that you avoid shopping with them.

I wish I had read the reviews here…

I wish I had read the reviews here first. I placed an order on the 12 November and have not received it. Nor have I received a refund. The excuse they're giving is that it was damaged in transit and they're waiting for it to be returned to them before sending out again. BEWARE THIS IS NOT A REPUTABLE BUSINESS

Negligence and bad customer service

I was sent the wrong article, but the customer service wouldn't admit their mistake. Sending the said article back was at my expense, not for free as mentioned on their site. Luckily I got a refund, but I had to buy the same article (that matched the description this time) from another shop. I am never buying from them again. And neither should you.

I am filing a fraud complaint

I am filing a fraud complaint, I cannot get my order number a receipt and have not received any product. I received one reply and after that silence. No product received, no shipping tracking number nothing. Yet payment went through. I have emailed them 4 times since last week, Nothing.

Poor communication and no tracking information

I ordered a number of yarns from Laughing Hens 15 days ago (April 1st) with the “tracked shipping” option. They sent me an email when they shipped the items on April 5th but the email was missing the tracking number.

I sent them a number of emails and asked the tracking number. I have not received any replies so far.

Finally I reached them by phone and asked the tracking number. The lady answering the phone said that she did not have the tracking number either and I had to wait three weeks to be refunded.

I told her that I don’t want to be refunded and I just want to receive the yarns that I ordered. She repeated the same answer in a robotic manner.

They have very poor communication. I still don’t know what happened to my order and I can do nothing except waiting.

I received my order one day before the three-week waiting time ends. So I edited my review to three stars.

Despite ".de" supplier is based outside of EU

I ordered yarn from a websight named laughinghens.de - which naturally means I expected the company to be EU-based. It was not which meant a fair increase in the price for me, since I had to pay tarif for costums etc.

Beyond that I still have not recieved the package due to lots of delays - both at the company and at the courierservice they have chosen to use. I am still wondering if I have been scammed, and the pretty expensive yarn I am now expecting, might never arrive.

I hope laughinghens.de will eventually respond to my mail, and contact the courier which only the sender can contact.

Edit they have responded - several times actually and have also investigated. I have upped their stars one to three - the parcel still is not her - so this is for the effort and the service...

I still find it frustrating that the information that the supplier is based outside of EU is not clear on the German page. I would never import yarn, which I could readily get from an EU-based company. The expense is far too high for that.

Lovely service

Lovely service , some of my order was not available but the lady was very helpful sourcing another brand , arrived in a timely manner , packed with the enviroment in mind very happy with the service would use again .
