Awful experience

Awful experience. Was sold a new helmet that was actually manufactured in 2010. When I took it back the manager told me that shelf life starts from when you wear it! This helmet had been on display so was well out of its shelf life. I was also told if they took all helmets that were old off the shelf they would have no stock. I emailed J&S and was told on 14th Feb that an area manager would contact me within 48 hours… it’s now the 21st and no contact. I find it unbelievable that they are selling helmets that were manufactured 15 years ago when we are told they have a maximum shelf life of 3-5 years and will never buy anything from there again.

Absolute awful place

Absolute awful place. Do not buy a phone holder if you want to waste £100. The quad lock they provide is faulty. The customer service I had received was terrible. They lied over the phone about getting a voucher for a faulty phone mount and when I got there they said they can’t take it back as it’s broken. It was obviously broken before I had tried to mount it on my bike. Do not go here if you want to pay way more money than you should. Horrible place to shop for expensive items.

Great place for bikers but you'll pay over the market prices for gear

Fantastic place but when I checked (stupid me for not doing so) I paid 40% more for items that I could have bought from alternative shops cheaper, and even the market value of said gear actually is cheaper than what they charged IE helmet they sold for £279.00 sells almost everywhere for £199 yes from shops? Gloves I paid £40? £25 in other bike shops, I trusted them to help me not sell me gear at over inflated prices, even my mate informed me he bought £150 water proof boots that wasn't waterproof..... Like I said staff are great but it looks like I'm paying 1/3rd extra for that advice,

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking service, the live chat person was unprofessional. Ordered an item worth £150 which was around 3 days out of its warranty and they refuse to do anything. I even offered to pay to get the item fixed and they didn't want to know. They said they don't offer to fix it out of warranty because they want you to buy the item again. Contacting financial provider instead to explain the situation.

Just purchased some really nice RST short boots, sent them the link for price match as I saw them £30 cheaper elsewhere, discount code sent to me within hours and I purchased online, order sent out immediately and I received the boots next day! Overall very happy 😊 thank you

Useless, I would avoid

Useless, website promises a price match so provided an email showing a competitor price and offered the chance for them to match. After six emails taking three days they refused to price match breaching their own policy. I can’t stress enough this was for a Arai quantic dark citizen, very specific all the way through the communication. Complete waste of time use one of the many other competitors. Helmet now ordered from helmet city and delighted with the price.

J&S Accessories Finedon

J&S Accessories Finedon
I bought a helmet from them but also got a cheaper price from the online dept and bought that hoping to return the shop bought one.
I didn't realise that there were two different return policies for online & in branch purchases. Though I was wrong and adamant that i was right they stayed calm and helped me. Very professional attitudes from the guys & they went above & beyond to help me.

Five stars!

J&S NOTTINGHAM

J&S NOTTINGHAM, I travelled from Chesterfield today to buy a considerable amount of new bike gear, including a helmet. Sadly there were four young boys working here that thought they were in a school playground, belching and deliberately up phlegm. I am no prude, behave like that with your mates, but we were customers looking to buy safety gear for motorcycling.
Not only that but when two of these kids were selling a helmet to a guy, they gave him duff advice on helmet fitting, which was completely wrong. Then after he went to pay for ot one pumped hod arms and shouted yeeesh! As if winning a Basketball match in some cheesy American B-movie.
I raised their attitude with them on the way out, and spoke to a female member of staff (who paid lip service with a leveled of disintetest).
The manager picked up that we were unhappy and did follow us out to speak with us. He explained one of the lads was newly employed, but if so surely he would be seeking to be better than the others, tbh, being worse would be difficult.
The manager offered to give us some money off if we returned, today or any other day, he did not want a poor review, but sadly money was not an issue, their behaviour and disrespect was. I live by my code and it's not one of accepting poor and rude behaviour.

Cheltenham Store Customer Experience

I've been renewing a lot of my kit (clothing & helmet) at this store recently. I had a manufactuing defect with a new jacket - zip broke and stitching came apart after just a couple of weeks wear. In store they correctly offered a replacement or credit. Not confident with replacing the product I opted for the credit against something "better". Staff were really knowledgable on the ranges and I ended up ordering in a new Dainese as the colour option I wanted was not in stock. Just a couple of day later I picked it up in-store. Professional team as always and a special mention to the chap with the big beard (sorry don't know his name) for all his patient help choosing my new jacket.

Spot on experience

Spot on.
Tried to buy a helmet elsewhere and heard nothing from them for 1 1/2 weeks. Eventually cancelled the order.

Bought a helmet with J&S and I had the helmet in 2 days. Spot on. Thank you

Nitro apex N501

This review is also to make sure I mention the company that actually make the helmet I purchased, they are based in Cumbria. I bought a nitro n501 with dvs system and pinlock ready. The helmet is brilliant. It does everything that something 4x more expensive one does. Some of these helmets you mainly pay for the name basically. Lenny from J and s in Eltham is very good at his job. No messing about. If something is faulty, talk to him and it will be sorted in a few days.

Online experience very poor!

Online experience very poor!
Purchased a helmet that was delivered quickly, but with all the security tags on so completely unusable. Having ordered due to the nearest branch being a 50 mile round trip I was not pleased to have to take time off to drive to the nearest branch (Staverton, Gloucester) to get it sorted.
However, the staff in the store were helpful, sorted me out and advised to get the next size up (which was in stock). Unfortunately when I contacted the online folks, they were pretty dismissive and simply said, we spoke with the branch and they are glad they sorted you out with a bigger helmet. No apology, nothing else apart from glad that they helped. Even the store staff had said I should get a voucher or proper apology as it was awful and a waste of my time and money travelling!

Unfortunately, despite being the localist of stores, it will be back to sportsbikeshop.com for me as this is the second incident following them selling me an item they didn't have in stock, after claiming it was not only in stock, but that they had shipped it to me a week prior to me asking where was it! Awful really

Poor Customer Service - Doncaster Branch

Mixed experience when visiting this store, however, my most recent visit will probably be my last.

There seems to be an issue with staff following you around the store and eyeing you from behind the shelves whilst you're looking at products. I've spent about £300 during the past month in this store, and every time I've visited I've felt the eyes of the staff preying on me as I'm looking around. My most recent purchase was a set of Oxford Heated Handlebar grips and a Pinlock insert for my visor. The two gentleman behind the counter who assisted me were spot on, very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. I found myself looking at a pair of AlpineStars Motorcycle boots (due to my pervious pair not arriving from other retailer), and instead of the store assistant coming over to ask if I needed any help, she just stood there, hands behind her back, dead eyeing me as if I was going to bundle them up my shirt and run out of the store.

I'm writing this review as I don't think this is acceptable customer service at all. I shouldn't walk into a store and leave feeling like a criminal even though I've purchased goods and I've got the receipt in my hand, so due to this experience, I'll not be revisiting.

I don't know who does the buying for J…

I don't know who does the buying for J & S but they need to take note of what doesn't sell! The store is full of tiny sizes, all the larger sizes having sold out. If you look around at any motorcycle meeting place it's fairly obvious that bikers are mostly larger guys n gals.

Stock less of the tiny sizes and more of the larger sizes and you may be able to make more sales.

I visited the Northwich branch with the intention of spending circa £1500 on a Rukka or similar suit. No stock larger than a 56 EU available, when staff were asked I was told it can be ordered.

So I ordered online from elsewhere for much cheaper price!

Shoei Neotec 3 purchase gone wrong

Ordered a new Shoei Neotec 3 online and paid £680 for it, only to discover when it arrived that it was clearly a returned helmet, that had been fully assembled, worn, then put back in its box with the liner hanging out of it, and no pinlock visor, the DPD van had barely left the street, and I left to drive 20 miles to the Hamilton branch, who kindly swapped it for me, but we're initially only going to give me the missing visor..
This is totally unacceptable and I will be using Sportsbike Shop from now on, who incidentally offer free returns even 365 days after purchase, as long as the item is unused.
This helmet clearly hasn't been checked before being sent to me, or it was and nobody cared, choose one as one option is correct, sadly I suspect it was the latter.....

Bought a helmet online which was too…

Bought a helmet online which was too small - phoned the Farnborough branch and was advised to return it to them - exchanged for the correct size. Shout out to Rob who made the whole thing very easy, friendly efficient service. Great price too! People are quick to criticise and slow to praise when it’s due.
