My coaching session with Leonie was very helpful and reassuring. She took the time to listen carefully to my situation, including the challenges I have been facing with balancing my studies and maintaining a steady pace.
What stood out to me was her patience and understanding. She did not rush the conversation, and she created a space where I could speak openly. Her guidance was practical and clear, especially in helping me think about how to structure my study plan more effectively going forward.
I also appreciated that she made herself available for follow-up support, which shows genuine commitment to helping students succeed beyond just one session.
Overall, the session gave me clarity and confidence about my next steps. I would definitely recommend this coaching to other students.

I would give -€8,112 stars if I could. That is exactly the amount of money IU took from me without providing the basic accountability they expect from students.
I invested 3 years of my life and over €8,000 in this university. There was a time I lost my job and literally started to eat once per day and skipped meals to ensure I never missed a payment, because IU refused to grant me a break when I communicated the loss. Despite this extreme sacrifice, I was wrongfully exmatriculated due to an internal administrative error.
The facts:
The "Ghost Debt": IU misallocated my payments. I raised concerns months before the exmatriculation, sending bank proofs multiple times. They totally ignored me until they kicked me out and de registrated me.
They more or less admitted the error, but refusing to find a solution: seems like they can’t undo the status due to internal technical process limits.
Intentional Non-payment: I intentionally stopped paying for Jan/Feb only after it became clear that IU was ignoring my bank proofs and refusing to fix the misallocation. I refuse to pay into a broken system that "loses" my money and threatens my future.
Shifting Grounds: They changed the reason for my de-registration to cover up their clerical mistakes.
IU treats students as numbers and software bugs. I’m penalised due to over a "technicality." I have already reported them to ZFU and will not stop until I get justice. I expected the same accountability I offered but nothing.
STAY AWAY from this university if you value your money and your mental health.
Will keep until I get JUSTICE. Student ID: 10616133
Also: the standard response for anything you might have noticed is to email the address “ reviews “THAT mail has been in copy (CC) of all my communications for the last month. You have ignored my bank proofs, my audit, and my repeated warnings about your misallocation.
Stop asking me to send more emails to departments that ignore me. I have already provided the proof of my 32 payments multiple times. I don't need another 'review'; I need a Senior Manager to override your technical error and reinstate my status immediately. My Student ID is 10616133. Solve it.

I was having a challenge with knowing the next steps for the transfer of my MA program and Leone was very articulate and precise in showing me direction. We also compared modules so that I would know what my next decision would be.
I am very grateful and I am looking forward to our follow up session.
She listens keenly, asks the right questions. Answers your inquiries and where she can, shares the right resources needed for you to grow or make the best decision.
I highly recommend her.

I had a great experience at the workshop. The topic was about housing in Berlin and I could get many tips of how to find my home. It was also good because of the clear explanation of the Advisor Nitesh Kumar, which was very attentive and always looking to help in with any questions.

his University Is a Complete SCAM AND USE-OF-NOTHING
This university is a pathetic excuse for an institution and an insult to anyone stupid enough to believe its marketing lies. Calling this place “higher education” is generous as hell—it’s more like a cash-grabbing disaster masters!!!
The administration is straight-up incompetent. TRULY ENOUGH QUALIFIED TO CALL THEMSELVES--> " DISHONEST", "POOR QUALITY", " Just dumb, lazy, and useless". They are running a so called an institution recognized by the German government but indeed these scam "uni" are just recruit big bunch of foreigners especially Asians to get bags of money and easy access to their useless poor quality education and organization.and 1 more important you could notice they provide a truly a low quality education and syllabus comparable to any other premier well taken care and well organized institution. moreover, every time you call on their number some st**** answer that they don't know, which is standard answer from them. not only that their student support had bunch of jokers(even worst). whith the same answer.
Not only from myself, the so-called b****d who are employed are totally white i**(you must understand) just to drag people's money with many lies. I have many proof from multiple resources, here as a victim and money scam from this fellow, I request people from anywhere especially from Asia to be aware of this IUBH!!! they recruit even you don't have ielts and grmn lang qualifictions. because they are just fooling around people with so called relaxed admission process, scholarship 80% even 100 % stu**** but in reality they don't provide proper distance learning support moreover, each one of the joker and useless people whom they had hired are just merely a no nuts, why I'm saying there are so-much of drawback in the entire system, from taking care of tutor quality exam quality, proctor stupidity and so much more!!!
Whoever Asian especially if you dreaming getting an European or German's well honoured education, definitely not this IUBH(shameless). you should understand this isn't fake/ or simply blaming , there are many complaints and unsatisfactory going on with this institution past 5 years and more. I request all of us should voice out against this institution and make them backlisted.
MY TRUE WORDS here is: You pay obscene amounts of money to be ignored, stressed out, and treated like a nuisance. You’re not a learner here; you’re a revenue stream.
This so-called recognized university are product of scam, with a dirty mind to attract and rob people. Rotten leadership, rotten systems, rotten priorities. Until it stops milking students dry and starts functioning like an actual academic institution, it will remain exactly what it is now:
a shameless, overpriced failure wrapped in fake prestige and empty promises.

It was a breathtaking first hand experience with Kathrin-20 minutes that worth their value. I left the session with her feeling more confidence to forge ahead with my studies, having learned from an expert the nitty gritty of time management and the secret of a successful academic journey.

I am enrolled in the Master’s in Marketing Management (Distance Learning). A key reason I chose this program was the internship module FSINTER01, which is explicitly listed in the official handbook for the Distance Learning format and is still available online.
After enrolling, I was unable to book the module. I was first told it was only for on-campus students, and later informed it is “no longer offered.” No explanation, no formal communication of a curriculum change, and no alternative solution were provided.
Students rely on official documentation when making major financial decisions. Advertising a module and then declaring it unavailable without transparency is unacceptable.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve had issues with student support. It often takes several follow-ups before anyone seriously looks into a case. Most responses are just apologies without solutions.
Definitely can't recommend IU.
They are playing with international students’ futures.

First, they give you your grades. Then suddenly they fail you, claiming your eyes were not on the screen or keyboard. This is completely unacceptable — you cannot change results based on such illogical and unprofessional excuses. I strongly suggest students reconsider choosing IU for their future. I am not alone in facing this issue; I personally know more than 10 students who have experienced the same problem. And this is not happening in just one exam — it’s happening in multiple exams, sometimes 5, 8, or even 10.

Leonie truly made a difference for me during a challenging time. I was overwhelmed with worries and doubted my ability to complete the program. Her support came at just the right moment, and I’ll be forever grateful for her help. She has a remarkable gift for uplifting others. I can't express how much she changed my perspective. Thank you, Leonie, for restoring my hope and showing me that I can accomplish more than I thought possible. You are a blessing in my life!

The only thing I regret in my life is applying here. You are not considered a student until you have completed 50% of your studies, yet when it comes to money suddenly you are considered a student. They pressure you to pay even though you have cancelled everything and they threaten to send debt collectors after you even though you have not used the platform and are not even a student. I would not recommend this to anyone. Stay far away. All they see in you is money. And IU… don’t copy and paste your template text like “We’re sorry this happened to you,” blah blah blah. If you were actually sorry and took the previous feedback into account, you would have already made changes a long time ago.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you very much for resuming my degree. I truly appreciate your understanding and support.
However, I would like to kindly ask for clarification regarding one remaining issue related to the invoices during the period when I had no access to the website services.
Due to bank transfer restrictions and the political situation at that time, payments were not processed as expected. Unfortunately, we were not aware of this issue earlier because of my mother’s serious health condition.
To clarify the timeline:
-In October, the website services were active.
-In November, the website services were active.
-On 22 November, my access to the website was terminated due to the bank payment issue.
-In December, I had no access to the website or its services.
-In January, I contacted you and kindly requested reinstatement, which you generously approved.
Regarding payments:
-October invoice was paid on 14 January
-November invoice was paid on 15 January
-January invoice was paid on 30 January
My concern is related to the December invoice. As I had no access to the website or any of its services during December, I would like to kindly ask why payment is required for that month?
I would be very grateful for your clarification on this matter.
Thank you again for your understanding and support.
Kind regards,
Raz

Customer support is non existant. If you need help there is no way to contact them. Wahtsup and phone attemts cannot help and you are told to send an email.
You can sent as many emails as you want, you only get an automated response promising to reply in 10 days. Sadly you never get any response.
They are happy to take your money, but it does not seem that they have any intention to deliver.
This seems to be a SCAM. Be careful.
Update 05/03/2026
It is not going any better. They keep changing the requirements. They are happy to take your money, but you will never get anything in return. This is a well organized SCAM. Do your own research, but prepared to loose your money.

I am still trying to get pas the registration phase. They keep asking for a certified copy of my University Qualification certificate. This document was posted to them and they uploaded it to their system. Yet they still ask for it going around in circles. I do not believe their support staff is capable to perform their duties. They even asked me to certify the original which is not possible.

It was my first time attending a session hosted by the career service team, and I found it to be exceptional. The insight and information shared about cover letters were invaluable. The host was amazing. She took all the time to ensure everyone understood the topic of discussion. Additionally, the session was completely interactive, allowing the attendees to ask questions and share their thoughts. Looking forward to attending more sessions.

Course materials are available in audio and video format with tutors all round to explain, practice exercises to help improve your knowledge of the required concepts. Thank you IU International Hochschule. I had a great experience.

A deeply disappointing experience
I graduated from IU in late 2024, and only now do I finally have the strength to write this review. I will never recommend this university to anyone.
The level of teaching and administration is extremely poor. There is virtually no support for international students — despite the university being largely oriented toward them.
1. Disorganized Start of Studies
The academic year began much later than officially announced. I arrived in Berlin on the date specified by the university, expecting orientation and the start of studies. Instead, I attended a meaningless “organizational meeting” and then waited *two full weeks* before classes actually began. This delay cost me unnecessary living expenses that could have been avoided.
2. Lack of Communication & Responsibility
At one point, we were informed that the student transport tickets were canceled and that we would be contacted once they were reinstated. No one ever contacted me. Later, it turned out that the tickets had been restored, but this was mentioned somewhere vaguely. I never received an email. As a result, I paid out of pocket. The university took no responsibility whatsoever.
3. An Appalling Finance Department
The finance department is unacceptable. They do not explain, do not respond, and are nearly impossible to reach.
For over 1.5 years I have been trying to either retrieve or understand what happened to my €390. No explanation. No resolution.
Emails go unanswered — yet they are quick to send threatening messages about penalties and expulsion if *you* do not respond. If you disagree or want clarification, you still pay the fine. There is no dialogue. No transparency. No fairness.
4. Hidden Financial Traps
There is no clear explanation of how exams and thesis timelines work. You can save money by completing exams early and submitting your thesis ahead of schedule — the last month is refunded if you are no longer attending classes.
But no one tells you this. I was deliberately dragged through timelines so that I had to pay for an extra month. Had I been properly informed, I could have avoided this cost.
5. No Career Support
Despite attending every career fair and consultation offered, there was no real help, no results, and no meaningful guidance. The “support” exists only on paper.
6. Teaching Quality
The academic level is extremely low. I studied previously in Prague — that is what real education looks like. At IU, the content is shallow and the standards are minimal.
I give two stars only because of two outstanding lecturers who genuinely teach and care:
* Marc Rosca
* Robert Strachan
They are exceptional and deserve recognition. Unfortunately, they are the rare exception in an otherwise profoundly disappointing institution.
This university is expensive, poorly managed, and misleading. It does not deliver what it promises — neither academically nor administratively.
