Bus No 867

Bus No. 867 from JHB to DBN, is currently on route and taking the very longest route. We can't even smell the N3 freeway, we were not even informed that the bus will be taking this route. This is so annoying and unprofessional, from now onwards I am writing off Intercape. We should have been given an option to take a straight bus to DBN via N3.

Bus 662

Bus 662, Route IM0131. If I could leave a negative star I would. The bus drivers are incompetent, 15 minute stops were 20 to 30 minutes. Random stops just for drivers, make it make sense.

I booked a trip with intercape bus for going back to school after easter holiday + recess…

I booked a trip with intercape bus for 00h20 a.m since I was going back to school after the easter holiday. First of fall they double booked buses on the same route which made me wait at the bus terminal an extra 2hrs and a few minutes in . we had to call the call center to get information on what was going on. What I did not get was that they didn't even send any type of communication on what was going on or how long the bus would take to get at the said bus terminal it was crickets. They didn't even bother to even apologise for the mismanagement or the lack of communication to the customers about what was going on even if these said " double booked bus routes " were to happen . I was so disappointed and aggravated to wait that long after paying that much money on the bus ticket they could've at least compensated a quarter or half the bus ticket fare but no we just got an extremely late bus , poor communication and mismanagement at the end . Intercape do better before you lose customers. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

We are on Bus 823 from Mosselbay to…

We are on Bus 823 from Mosselbay to Durban on the 7/04/2026, it's me, my wife and my 4 month old baby. When we made the booking we asked the lady that assisted us at Checkers Garden Walk Mall in Hartenbos Mosselbay that we will be traveling with a infant do we have to buy a ticket for him as well to which she replied "NO you just have to report him" after the booking has been made and the tickets was handed I only saw my name and my wife's name so I asked her why isn't my baby's name on the ticket to which she replied "It won't be on the ticket but they will see his name when they check us in", fair enough. The morning came and we had to leave at 00:20 and we went to the driver at the time and said we are traveling with a infant and he asked he age and if it's a male or female and he entered the details into his work phone and life went on. We departed that's when things went south, first of all we only stopped for a break once in Port Elizabeth and that was it we never stopped for any breaks only after another passenger asked when we will be having a break did the other driver said we can have a 10 min break by then it was already +-14:10 then the driver came by each and everyone asking where we boarded and what our names are. Then we carried on. When we arrived at Mthata loading more passengers the driver claimed that there are two that shouldn't be on the bus and yet again came by each and everyone asking our names and where we boarded and they when he came to us he said that our 4 month old infant is not on the list and that we have to go to the office and buy him a ticket to which I refused because that's not what was said to us when we already made the booking and said clearly that we will be traveling with a infant and so I told him the situation then he replied with the baby doesn't have a sear and that he counted our baby as having his own seat and that we should've told him sooner but my question along with a few other passengers that overheard the conversation is, how can a infant sit on your lap up right for 21 hours? The moral of the story is that they way the driver handled the situation and his comment after all was unprofessional and that he doesn't even know what's going on, on his bus that he have to go by everyone asking something that is on his phone, and that we are traveling all the way with no breaks only after asking did we get a 10 min break and that I had to buy a ticket for my infant after traveling more than halfway without a issue so how can one person tell us one thing and halfway down the road some else tells us another? Now we have to drive the rest of the way to our destination with him sitting on our laps.

Intercape is a SCAM!

Intercape is the biggest letdown,my wife travelled from Kimberley to Pretoria on 01/04/2026, firstly the bus was late, as usual, secondly they made unnecessary stops along the way and the drivers were inexperienced and failed to keep to the time schedule, they don’t refund and they don’t care how people get home after being dropped off, no matter how late they arrive at the destination.Their service SUCKS,to say the least

I arrived at the bus stop for the bus…

I arrived at the bus stop for the bus between Mthatha and Cape Town at 00:30. My bus was scheduled to leave at 01:45. My father, myself, my sister and uncle all sat watching as busses arrived from Cape Town to Mthatha or Aberdeen. We sat and waited. We checked with the busses that arrived within the allotted time slot and both stated their location was not where I was meant to be going. We watched a bus coming from the direction of Mthatha go straight past the Engine stop and after a long wait, when a bus finally arrived for Cape Town from Mthatha and I was told that "This is not the bus you are on. I only have one passenger scheduled for pick up in Beaufort." And was informed by live chat that the bus was in Beaufort West and departed at 01:50. I however checked and inquired. I'm now being told that the bus was here in Beaufort and I" missed it" after waiting nearly 3 hours I decided to return home. I will also be sending a stern email and a negative review. I had high hopes for Intercape and I'm very sure that I will not be using your services again.

Terrible Experience

My girlfriend recently travelled with Intercape from Johannesburg to Pietermaritzburg, and unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing.

To start with, the bus departed on time, which we appreciated. However, the driver’s attitude toward passengers was very unprofessional. When we politely asked if we could place her bag in the luggage compartment, he responded in a harsh tone saying, “As you can see, I am standing here. If you want to talk to me you have to come to me.” When working with customers, staff should always remain professional and approachable — that is what passengers expect when paying for a service.

There were also several unnecessary delays during the trip. At Vaal, passengers had to wait for almost an hour for another bus to collect people who had embarked on the wrong bus. This should not be the rest of the passengers’ responsibility, as Intercape staff should ensure that people are on the correct bus before departure.

Later, just before Montrose, the bus stopped again and passengers were asked to transfer to another bus without any clear explanation. Unfortunately, the bus they were transferred to was of a much lower quality, which made the remainder of the journey uncomfortable and unpleasant.

My girlfriend has been travelling with Intercape for many years and has never experienced anything like this before. Sadly, this trip felt like very poor value for money. We hope Intercape takes feedback like this seriously and improves both customer service and operational planning going forward.

I boarded in Pretoria and got off in…

I boarded in Pretoria and got off in Kimberly. The service of the staff at the office in Kimberly was phenomenal.👏 I am a regular passenger of Intercape and I usually travel from Pretoria to Upington and the client service for me is a 0.5. This time round I changed my route and got off in Kimberly and those staff members were amazing compared to the staff in Upington. I am forever traveling to Kimberly instead of Upington. Well done to the morning team who was there with Veronica their helper on Friday the 27th of February 2026. Keep up the excellent client service it doesn't go unnoticed!😁

I was shocked

I was shocked, disgusted and pissed off to experienced bedbugs feeding to our blood in the intercape bus from George to Mthatha throughout the night. It was totally an uncomfortable situation if I had an option to just off the bus and rather hike would have done that. There is totally no fumigation done and hygiene is least of their worries while human health is totally compromised. All they care is money that's all. Will never book their bus ever again.

don’t take intercape

if you ever planning on taking intercape you better off walking. Ride staff, dirty bus that smells and it’s not a guaranteed that they will even stop at your station.

I was on my way to Stellenbosch from George and they just drove straight past and told me i have to find a way to get to Stellenbosch from wherever they dropped me off.
