A follow up to my previous review.
Intelligent insurance charged a £50 ad-min fee, and refused to return my deposit when I use my 14-day cancellation, before my policy had started.
Research has found this...
"Banks, lenders, and brokers must clearly itemise and disclose all administrative and processing fees upfront to comply with clear-pricing regulations."
In other words, if a broker is charging admin fees, they should itemise the fees and not charge one specific amount. Regardless, this isn't what intelligent insurance is doing. My educated guess is that they are using the admin fee so called, to cover the fee that they've had to pay the comparison site they advertised on, in other words to cover their advertising cost. I guess there's nothing wrong with that if that's what they're doing as long as they're prepared to be upfront about it, but to hide it under the heading admin fee isn't a company I would want to deal with again.
My previous experience with intelligent insurance some years ago, I was with them for 2 or 3 years, I didn't have an issue. But then I didn't have the need to use my 14-day cancellation.

Extremely friendly, helpful and very patient.
Having been told by a well known insurance company for the elderly that due to a policy change they are unable to renew my mum's house insurance, (for issues related to climate change), I found Intelligent Insurance on a comparison website.
Although the website asked a lot of difficult questions (the house was purchased over 50 years ago), I eventually telephoned the company for help with the full quote and spoke to Dawn, who was extremely friendly, helpful and very patient. Between us, we completed the quote, which is very satisfactory.
This review would have been 5 stars, but sadly I had to knock of a star for the difficult website. Dawn definitely deserves 5 stars.

Home insurance from a company that applies common sense
We live in a SEPA flood area although the house is 40 feet above the river. We have lived here for 37 years and there is no danger of the house being flooded. Intelligent insurance excluded flood risk from the policy thereby enabling them to quote competitively whereas many other insurers simply refused to quote. They therefore got the business
