This game is a scam

This game is a scam. I played it for 6 years and paid 2 year worth of subscriptions. Within the first week of renewing my 2nd year, they perma banned me with no explanations. When I finally did get one, they said it was because of the products I made for the shop. They said I need to provide proof of rights. Most of the items I made were of my own creation the other ones I derived from people who had the same products, and according to their policy, equivalent to sharing rights. When I ask them to help me understand they just ignored me and said I had to provide proof (but for what products?) when I called the company they said "even IF we give the account back you would lose all vip and creating rights" so they had no intention of helping me or giving it back. Since it was within the first week, I ask for a refund, they refused me of the services I paid for, right after taking my money. By every right, they we suppose to provide a refund, but, they refused me. They still refuse to help me, they told me I needed to provide proof, then changed it to the companies needed to send them proof. I still have no idea what products they are having issues with, nore what companies they expect me to get ahold of. If you want to play go ahead. their bulling policies? they don't apply. Harrasment? You're lucky if they do anything about that. Safety concerns for other players? You have to have all sorts of pictures proving your concern on certain specific formats for them to even consider your concern relevant. So take all the policies they require for you to acknowledge, and follow them. Just know they don't uphold any type of loyalty to their own policies. So it's all IRRELEVANT. so have fun playing, just know they don't have your back. If you can't stand up for yourself this isn't the game for you, if you are looking for a life long commitment, this is not the game for you. You have to be a certain age to sign up? Nah doesn't apply you'll find 10 year Olds and younger on here that imvu doesnt even bother with, even though they say they will. But don't worry at least they can't report you for bulling when they can't keep up with conversations! This game is for snowflakes. Tiptoeing around everyone because EVERYONE GETS OFFENDED. but that ok because imvu doesn't care, they only care if they think you'll land them with legal problems. So overall. Don't rely on IMVU to have your back with any problems, you can throw all the policies out the window because they won't uphold them. And IMVU will only cover their own backs while throwing you under the bus without a rhyme or reason.

Loved

People talk about dangers and everything. The predators, but when you look closely at them, everywhere you go, the exact same thing. IMVU is no exception like no other. There are wonderful people there too, and if your account is hacked like a friend of mine did, you can get help when you can just look for it as an adult and be kind. They are just people, just like anyone else. There are clear instructions for everything and they will respond quickly.

scummy business practices + poor moderation

The content is all generated by independent contractors and IMVU, as a business, makes it their priority to weasel out of paying content creators at every turn.

That alone should turn you away, but if it doesn't:

All of the content is also user-moderated in the sense it requires a user to bring ill-fitting content to staff's attention in order for it to be hidden from the general audience or removed from the catalog entirely. Those reports ("flags") often go ignored and products that have no right to be on the service stay around indefinitely, especially if a "loophole" is involved, no matter how obvious the intent of the product is. IE: a lit "cinnamon stick" perched in one's mouth is considered okay for the general audience even though the product looks exactly like a blunt. (example taken directly from the front of the catalog at the time of writing)

It's very common to run into the depiction of sex, drug/alcohol use, verbal harassment, and age 'mismatch' on this service.

DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN ANYWHERE NEAR THIS SITE OR ANY CHATROOMS

I am absolutely disgusted how this site is allowed to operate. It is full of sexual predators and vulnerable children being taken advantage of, it made me physically sick to read some of the things adults are saying to children and encouraging them to say and do. AND YET the site has zero safeguarding for children. Thankfully I found my daughter's profile before she was forced to do something she would regret for the rest of her life.

It says it's only suitable to 17+ but my 13 year old managed to open an account without lying about her age and within 24 hours she was enticed to "go find a boyfriend" by what can only be described as a system generated message and then she was groomed, asked if she would have sex, send naked pics, taught how to sext, told to give her phone number and snapchat account details where the abuse continued.

The report user function on this site is hard to find and even then completely pointless as vile animals are allowed to keep their profiles after knowingly grooming & sexually exploiting children. It should be shut down and the developers locked up.

Ive been on imvu for many years now

Ive been on imvu for many years now, 11 to be precise, ive have my account hacked 2 times.. and this time the hacker totally destroyed everything on my account, everything from my developer status, its now permanently revoked because the hacker (Chowii) broke DMCA/DRM laws. also my whole inventory is gone, my credits is gone and on top of that, imvu wount help me trying to figure out how to get me back to me before the hack, with everything i had on my account.. instead im being treated as a criminal and they wount even search a simple IP to see the location of the hacker, they even helped the hacker transfer my money to another account, when the hacker asked for help to that.. ive been a loyal costumer and developer on imvu for 11 years now.. and to be treated like a criminal.. words cannot describe the dissapointment.. so to everyone thinking about starting an account on imvu, or being a developer, just know when u get hacked, because that will happen, imvu security is worse than any other place, then do not expect any help from imvu. that being said im also looking at a possible law suit because of the DMCA violation the hacker did.. now to wait and see how that turns out..

They deceive you so that you spend more and more

The game is great, but the bad support spoils everything, banned me 2 accounts that I spent real money in them, I already spoke 3 different reasons for the ban, none of them I committed and when I ask that they prove what they accuse me, they simply say they can not Give more information, 15 days ago I try to speak with support that sends automatic messages, this is a lack of respect, since I spent almost R $ 2000 reais with game,
