Do not use the exchange rates are criminal 25% plus mark up and they then add a service fee on top of that

Really good service with staff ringing…

Really good service with staff ringing me to let me know when delivery would be. ( Not sure if this is coincidence or security breach, but I received a text the day after I placed my order saying that the P.O. had tried to deliver a parcel and it had been returned to local depot, giving a link to check it. I reported it as spam to be on the safe side. My order would have normally been delivered that day but the office had phoned me on the day I placed my order saying that due to a technical hitch my order would not be with me until the day after. I was perfectly happy about it and it was delivered the day after I got the text, as advised. Just think that maybe you should be aware of this?)

For the 2nd successive time when I have…

For the 2nd successive time when I have ordered Currency it has been delivered with no signature accepting delivery. I have no issue with the point up to dispatch, but yesterday delivery was simply thrown into our porch, this was not locked and a door bell is readily available, if i was dishonest we could say we have not had the package, which whilst it may be a photo by deliverer had been taken to say left in porch, but with the door unlocked anyone could have seen it and taken it. Very Poor !!

We bought Hungarian currency from the…

We bought Hungarian currency from the ice counter t1 on Thursday 23rd September the exchange rate was a little higher than expected but we were glad to exchange our money but we were absolutely appalled and mortified to be refused entry to a venue because the money we received from ice was no longer legal tender in Hungary and to add insult we were refused an exchange of the untenable money when we arrived back into Ireland yesterday were the clerk informed us it was no longer in use and refused to believe we received it from them because the denomination breakdown was not on the receipt I am absolutely furious and would not recommend their service

Absolutely disgraceful

Absolutely disgraceful! I drew €300 euros out at Stansted from an ICE ATM and was charged £325! I was obviously shown the exchange rate before agreeing, and it was my own fault as I presumed it would be a little higher but didn’t check…not realising I was being robbed blind! Lesson learnt, but what a total rip off. Commission Free? Dick Turpin more like.

We try to make our rates as competitive as we can, but we charge different rates because our costs are higher/lower depending on where the branch is. Typically we have very high rent, insurance and cash supply costs, particularly in tourist areas and high costs security areas like airports and travel hubs. This is also why other shops in those places charge more - it’s more expensive to ‘be there’ to provide a convenient service.

It’s unlikely there will be a change to the cost of operating at airports in the near future, but we believe currency shouldn’t be complicated, and everyone should have access to the best possible rates.

While we offer services in convenient airport locations, we always encourage people to buy their currency in advance to avoid these extra charges. You can order from us online and get cash delivered to your door – you’ll find our rates are better online as our costs are much lower. You can also do click & collect if there’s a branch near you that’s easier to collect from.

I hope this helps explain why we weren’t able to give you a better ATM rate at Stansted Airport.

Poor exchange rates

ICE's exchange rates were poor compared to other currency exchange companies.
I ordered my currency in advance via their website and understood that I would get a preferential rate for doing so however, when I got to the airport, the rate was somewhat lower than what I expected.
I'll be ordering elsewhere next time I go abroad.

Thank you for your review and I’m sorry to hear you weren’t happy with the rate you received. If it’s helpful, I’d like to give you some information about how our click and collect rates work.

The exchange rate listed on your voucher is based on the day’s rate for your selected store. Our stores update their click and collect rate daily before 10.30am, so unless you collect your currency on the same day that you download the voucher we can’t guarantee the rate you receive will be exactly the same.

Usually – if you pick up within 24 hours – the exchange rate will not vary dramatically from those seen online, as rates will only change in line with the financial exchange markets.

If you’d like the certainty of knowing exactly the rate you’ll receive, I’d recommend downloading the voucher just before you are about to use it in-store - it’s really quick to download it to your phone and you can use it instantly.

ordering my money was easy to do…

ordering my money was easy to do online, once my application was completed the money arrived the following day as stated.
My only concern was that I asked for the money to be delivered at the weekend when I was going to be home, it was in face delivered early and was put through the letter box, not signed for and not handed to myself or my husband,

Due to the current circumstances, to minimise contact during delivery, Royal Mail are not currently capturing signatures. They should however be ensuring there is someone at the address to accept the item from them.
