I cant stress enough to steer clear!
We learnt hard way.
We wish we'd never heard of them !
No communication, no customer care, no consideration, no concern, and absolutely no urgency or understanding of a customers distress.
To cut a very long story short (very difficult to do over a six month saga !) .....
A site survey took place on 13/06 and lasted eight hours ! All very friendly but on reflection more resembled the actions of an insurance salesman with numerous closure techniques employed.
The requested preparatory work was carried out by ourselves to the letter.
The work was carried out on 16-17/07 - a DPC gel injected in the mortar course at the top of the first layer of breeze blocks (215mm). We were subsequently advised by our bathroom fitter / tiler that this was too high and would cause bridging issues when plastered.
This was reported to HES on 25/07 and "Customer Care" agreed that there would be bridging issues and would take the matter up with the fitters and his superiors.
After numerous chasers we were eventually contacted by the chief fitter (Luke Inward) on 21/08 who advised that we told the fitters to install the DPC at the higher level (why would we tell the "experts" to do that ?); that the block work was not exposed at the time of the survey (yes it was): and that our blocks were of an unusually large size (no, they're pretty standard at 440mm L x 100mm W x 215mm H).
A further period of chasing with no reply followed before we were advised on 09/09 that a fitter would be sent out to carry remedial work.
A third fitter came on 19/09 and inserted cut down rods directly into breeze block at a height of 50mm. When we queried whether this would result in a DPC fit for purpose we were told it would and that 50mm was the correct height. It is for external walls, but not for internal walls and certainly not directly into breeze block which we raised with HES again and asked why the rods had been cut down.
Another period of chasing with no reply followed and it wasn't until we threatened legal action (10/10) that we were contacted by "Retro Fitter" Kevin Duffy (16/10) who visited on 22/10 to carry out an "Assessment". The extensive (two line) report was received on 24/10 but a fourth fitter didn't visit until 14/11.
On 14/11 the fitter inserted full length (180mm) DPC rods into the originally used mortar line (210mm high) and applied a "damp inhibitor and a mould eradicator chemical" slurry to the bottom course of breeze block. Unfortunately by inserting full length rods the fitter drilled straight through into the adjoining bedroom, utility room, and kitchen destroying the plaster work in these rooms and leaving approx 80mm of rod sticking out !
A cynic could say that this was a deliberate, malicious act of vandalism but we'll give them the benefit of doubt that it was just accident. However, at the very least you'd expect a DPC installer to know the width of the clients walls before installing the rods and makes you question their general competence in all matters.
Following yet more unanswered chasers we finally got reply from Mr Duffy on 27/11 asking for suitable dates to visit and we provided three dates by return. A visit wasn't forthcoming !
After a further period of inactivity and being fobbed culminating in threats to pursue legal action we were finally visited by a second "Retro Fitter" Steve and following his recommendations a third and fourth visit for remedial was scheduled (15/01 and 23/01).
We then asked for compensation for the length of time taken and the damage caused and were advised that because the remedial work had been successful (at the third and fourth time of asking) they would not be entertaining any claim for compensation. The only department that appears to work efficiently is the Legal Department - obviously it has had lots of practise !
If nothing was wrong with the initial works why did both "Retro Fitters" sanction remedial action ?!?
How can self acclaimed experts in their field make so many errors and then when they carry out remedial work it creates more damage than it is supposedly remedying, and why does it take six months to achieve this unsatisfactory outcome, and with no recourse.
Finally, they proudly advertise "40+" years of experience but were only incorporate in 2023 - why ?
Don't touch them with a barge pole !

Sam did our survey and she was great, very friendly and knowledgable, explaining things in a way we understood. I would definitely recommend Sam if you need a survey doing.

Today I had a visit regards my external home insulation. HES surveyor was 100% professional (I can say that as field security engineer). She did all deep checks around the house (measurements, moisture levels, etc). She professionally answered all my questions, explained all my "worries" regards following job, has been very kind and helpful!
THANK YOU SAMMI

From the beginning the experience has gone really smoothly, from my initial inquiry to the follow up discussion, to phonecalls confirming appointments and finally the survey. Communication has been brilliant and very much appreciated. The survey itself was very thorough and well explained by Sam, telling us exactly what was going on; in a way we could understand, and what was needed to rectify it. She understood our concerns and listened and reassured. She offered flexibility with follow up appointments and has given us all the information we need to make a decision moving forward. Thanks again.

Sam was early for our appointment… She noticed straight away the damp by my front door. But when going around the house Sam was very honest with the condition of the wall in the spare bedroom. Luckily Sam explained to me that it only required a chemical to be put on it and leave it on for a while before wiping it off..
Sam then told me what the team would do to the wall by the front door which would take the plaster off the to then inject the chemical into the wall.. Then replaster the whole wall.. That service is fantastic new for me…
If you ever get Sam to survey your home listen to her… She won’t try and sell a product just for the sake of it.. If you don’t need it Sam will tell you.. That was the honesty from Sam that convinced me to go with her quote.. Thank you Sam

Avoid Avoid Avoid shocking company never turned up to start insulation, battling to get £1.475 deposit back had to go through bank, Tel number on receipt they emailed says they are nothing to do with the company and are in fact an Electrical Company. STAY WELL AWAY
We had a blackmould issue at one of our buy to lets and as a responsible landlord I took the decision to call home energy for a survey and advice. They quickly arranged a survey and sent a lovely lady called Sam. She came on time and with an array of tools set about doing the most thorough survey from top to bottom inside and out! we then sat down and discussed what to do next with Sam offering various solutions. She really is extremely knowledgeable in her field advising us that the first course of action should be the clouding to eradicate the mould and then with the use of various extractor fans and PIV hopefully get the problem under control. Thanks to Sam we felt this was the correct way to go!
thank you Sam

I recently had damp removal work carried out by Home Energy Save GB, from the initial survey to the final installation, the team were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.
They explained everything clearly, kept me informed throughout the process, and worked efficiently with minimal disruption to my home. The difference has been amazing — the damp patches have completely disappeared, and the house already feels warmer.

Absolute disgrace of a company! Before Christmas I received a quote from home emergency save for damp work on my house, this quote was accepted and I paid a £250 deposit to secure the work with the work commencing on January 19th. I then rang them relentlessly during the week before to arrange what time they will be staring etc but nobody could answer me, eventually I was called by Luke on Saturday to tell me they had cancelled the job and weren't doing the work anymore. Luke blamed me as the customer and claimed that it was my fault as I hadn't paid them more money, surely the £250 I had paid would be enough to secure a date, and if a larger deposit was needed, you would assume a company as large as these would contact you to confirm the dates? But no, Luke argued with me on the phone and spoke to me like I was an idiot. Not to mention, this was a 13,000 job... This was no small job, so my presumption is that they would want the work, apparently not.
I can't comment on the standard of work for this company as I never received it, I'm sure they're great. But from a price perspective and a customer service perspective, about the worst company I've ever dealt with. If you book your job with these, expect to be left hanging and let down at the very last minute.
After finding out that the walls in question were already cavity insulated, Johnny made a great suggestion of how to further improve the front wall insulation and make the front wall look good.

Do not use Home Energy Save Limited.
They carried out damp work in January 2024 and advised water tanking. Within a week, water and damp marks returned. They came back out to rectify the issue.
I contacted them again on 9 December 2025 due to further water ingress and, despite numerous calls and emails, only heard back on 20 January 2026. I was then told the company went into liquidation in October 2024 and that my 25-year guarantee is worthless, unless I contact the former directors who have since set up a new company to see if they would honour my guarantee!!
Customer service and aftercare are terrible. I’m left with ongoing damp issues and no support. Avoid at all costs
On Checkatrade and yell as Cirro-Pure to avoid bad reviews, Home Energy save are NO LONGER on Checkatrade, make up your own mind why not!?! I've paid nothing to Cirro-Pure ltd,. My complaint is that they quoted for unnecessary work, £4500, 9 times the eventual cost of £525. Turned up at my house in Home Energy save T-shirts and told me they were them.
Awful!! Parts of the ceiling was left all over the landing and bathroom & I have 2 young children! Still coming across pieces now 1 week on! Complete breach of contact and didn't do what they said, mis sold us completely and used fear tactics to get us to sign straight away. Roof collapsed whilst installing the piv unit and it's an absolute mess. Mould still an issue. Lost a screw cover from the bathroom so now have to replace them, and they tried charging £5200 for the shambles! Thankfully we're going through finance to get it cancelled and wanting a full refund, and compensation for the damage. Please please do not use this company.
