I looked at transferring a cash isa with another provider £118k to the hl powered by shawbrook. I spoke to a man who assured me the process was simple and they would help. I opened the s and s isa first as I had to. Then I transferred to a cash isa preliminary. I was intending to transfer all to the hl shawbrook was told that the 4.5% is only on 20k max. I was never told this if so I would never have bothered. Now I am stuck with a lot of money on a very low interest isa while everything clears.if this is your intention to get 4.5% don’t do it. After reading all the material I still can’t find where it says I can only get top interest on 20k and not the full amount

Dealt with them regarding an ISA and a pension, each interaction was poor on the customer service side, heavy on the fees and unnecessary red tape side, would not engage with again

Bit disappointed with the customer service I received today, to be honest.
I was considering opening an ISA and I had some questions about the terms of their new joiner promotional rate.
The lady I got through to a) didn't know about the promotional rate advertised on their website and b) didn't seem to know what an ISA is to begin with.
I asked to be transferred to someone who is more familiar with the product, but the lady I was transferred to afterwards had an attitude, saying "I'm just going to tell you the same thing as my colleague" and seemed to think I was being unreasonable to ask to speak to someone else.
How dare I seek certainty when before transferring a considerable amount of money to your institution?
Honestly, I expected better from Hargreaves Lansdown.

This company is going downhill and can no longer justify its premium pricing . A website issue now means that quite often you’re unable to deal online . I’ve phoned about it and apparently it’s a known issue . Surely that’s the primary reason to use a platform .

HL use to be very good, The platform itself and has some good basic features, not the best but the low fees for long term investor like me kept me with HL. Staff are good and nice to be able to talk to someone, but not used too much. Since they hiked the fees substantially, it starts eating into your profits if you don't trade frequently.
I fear only matter of time before more price increase.
we've already started moving money to other platform like trading 212 and ii.
More brokers are providing commission free trading.
Not sure what's happening at HL. Its a shame, because it was a good balance between fees and functionality.

The lady who I spoke to was very helpful. She guided me through the process of switching my cash ISA to another with a better rate.

I needed help and advice with ISA about to mature. Spoke to a gentleman who guided me through the procedure of transferring the ISA, opening new account and depositing a small amount, it was actioned with patience and care from the gentleman and the procedure was carefully and simply explained to the elderly person who asked for assistance.

Helpful and polite service on the phone. Reasonable level of information on the website, further explanations of some of the terms used would be helpful.

It is so annoying that they shut at 5 not 530! I have tried so hard to leave shifts early to speak to them but it's impossible to navigate, and today I managed to to call at 4.50 pm...so of course they've just shoved me on hold, listening to dreadful jazz muzak. And no, ambient birth music insread is not a better option! It is now 5pm. This is such poor service. No AI messaging, no way to leave a message at all. Not impressed. Yet another weekend will go by without my issue being resolved. If it was this hard to make contact with HL I'd have chosen a different provider.

As a long standing customer of over 30 years, what has happened to HL? I tried to do a Cash ISA transfer into the widely advertised "HL market leading rate cash ISA". The online transfer process failed with a meaningless error message which has been reported to HL support with no response as yet. After completing the transfer into HL via a paper form, I then tried to move the transferred amount into the HL Cash ISA. After three separate phone calls to customer services, I was finally told of the amount I had transferred only 20k could be put into the new HL ISA account. This is sharp practice in my mind as ISA transfers generally transfer the full amount and all the other HL Cash ISA's which could take the remainder have much lower interest rates. The whole transfer process is horribly convoluted, having to go through multiple stages over a number of days, and although HL phone support were very helpful, no one pointed out this 20k limit to me until it was too late. I'm now stuck either transferring the remaining amount back out to another provider, or picking a different HL Cash ISA with a poor rate. As a long standing customer I'm very disappointed in HL. Caveat emptor. If this an indicator of the future now HL is owned by private equity firms CVC & Nordic, then I will be putting my money elsewhere!

The most complicated and drawn out procedure ever to transfer in a cash isa. 1st funds must be paid into a'Stocks&Shares' isa. Once that has 'settled'then must be transferred into a 'holding' account and again 'settle'. Finally transfer funds into your chosen cash isa account. Just not worth the hassle!

Very helpful. I was having some trouble in setting up my accounts and nothing was too much trouble. Everything was fully explained in a clear manner
