Do not even think about it, this is a terrible mistake to pay for such a useless and crippled product. It is an absolute mess, top to bottom
Not for advanced users. The biggest problem with HMA (Hide My Ass) is false country locations / IPs. They claim and offer you to select an IP from many "exotic" countries, however these are all fake.... See more

The Web used to be a wild frontier that transcended geographical and political boundaries, and gave people anonymity and freedom. Anyone could go online to share ideas and access anything from anywhere. Now, the Web has become dangerously fragmented along country lines. Everything people do online is tracked, packaged, and sold, or used to control what they can see and do — with consequences that are becoming all too clear every day. HMA brings back online privacy so people can once again experience freedom on the Web. We’ve been around for a long time: We were one of the founders of this whole consumer VPN game. We make sure people can access what they want, from wherever they are, and stay private doing so.

SCAM
I signed up for the trial and it didn't work well. Not a huge problem. I went to cancel - logged into my account and it said my email / account could not be found. Emailed them, contacted support on their website. I even contacted them on Facebook. I stated I wanted to cancel before my trial. I received form emails back saying they had received my messageI even contacted them on Facebook. I couldn't cancel it. Couldnt reach anyone. They charged me. I now am disputing the charge with my bank.

A scam! Just the worst of the worst.
The worst of the worst.
I'm starting to think they are just a scam.
I paid on December 23 for a 3-year subscription, but only after 1 month I don't have access to the platform any more.
It shows as if my subscription had expired.
Opened a ticket several times, but no answer whatsoever.
DON'T FALL FOR THIS TRAP!
STAY AWAY!!!
HideMYAss.com should be called "Snitch…
HideMYAss.com should be called "Snitch On Your Ass". Lookup the case of Cody Kretsinger (LulzSec fiasco). It is clear from the indictment they were logging all of his activity despite their claim in their FAQs that states: "No activity of any kind is logged." I certainly don't condone the illegal hacking he or anyone else did but this event really reveals the truth about the company and the fact that their actions are completely contrary to their promises. "Actions speak louder than words", and this is a perfect example of why this idiom is so imperative.
money back guarantee is lie and the…
money back guarantee is lie and the support is fake dont exisit i send the 3 emails in 3 weeks with no answer , it disconnect every second ,there is other vpn option with cheaper price and at least they care about their customer
Took my money even though I said don't
In the past they've done ok, but this time it's been a nightmare. I started a new trial but it wouldn't apply to my account. So I emailed them and asked to cancel the account and annual renewal. They haven't replied to that request. Now they've taken my annual subscription and even though I've messaged them again asking for a refund, they still haven't replied to either of my messages and just walked away with my money.
STAY AWAY
My guess is that the company is in the toilet, and they don’t have the resources to follow through with customer support. This is also probably why their servers keep going down. After two months and countless tickets/emails, I haven’t gotten any help from HMA.
DO NOT EVEN TRY to work with these people. It’s not worth it.
I have asked for help and you say someone will get in touch but no body ever does.
I have asked for help and you say someone will contact me but no body ever does. I noticed on my apple Ipad I have a subscription for one year renews on July 6 2024.This is a mistake I do it monthly on my desk top I need to talk to someone or I will have to get my bank to take care of it.
poor customer service
I sent daily emails to info @ hidemyass requesting cancellation of two subscriptions to no avail. I was charged for both. I am still awaiting communication from the company and a refund.
Renewed my sub a week ago
Renewed my sub a week ago, still getting pop ups to renew and service is not working. Left several messages but, except from an automated one, no reaction. Very frustrating.
7 day free trial is misleading
I got a 7 day free trial to check whether this was the product for me. It turns out it wasn’t. When I went to cancel my free trial on the 7th day, surprise, surprise: they had already charged me. So it’s not a 7 day free trial, it’s a 6 day free trial. You will get charged on the 7th day! I have raised it with them and am still waiting for a reply. They promise to give a reply in 48 hours but it’s been 48 hours and nothing. The fee is quite steep! About 80 American dollars for a year subscription! Never again and I don’t recommend the company. Dodgy and misleading marketing practices
Possibly the worst VPN I've ever tried for downloads
Possibly the worst VPN I've ever tried. Constant disconnects. I'm not exaggerating when I say I get 10-15+ disconnects in a 30 minute span. Constantly trying different servers and the same thing happens.
I have never had this kind of problem with a VPN service. P2P servers are fast, but will disconnect constantly.
This VPN is virtually useless if you're downloading files. Great for browsing though, which is why there's 2 stars. If I could rate the download capabilities of this server, HMA would be giving me stars instead.

no communication, help or refund
After buying a 12 month subscription connection failed after a week, still down and with no help my refund request is ignored completely. It had been recomended by my son so its a bitter disappointment.
WARNING ALL VPN USERS
The worst experience I've ever had with a VPN service. And arguably the worst customer service experience I've ever witnessed --because there is none. I purchased this service and after awhile I noticed that when connecting to a specific city's server location that the IP address given didn't actually match the city. And I tried several different IP address geolocation identifiers. So if spoofing your location is what you need stay clear of HMA. With that being said, I emailed the customer service address because they don't provide any kind of phone number that I would like to envoke the 30 day money back guarantee which is listed on their site for my annual purchase. Now fast forward 25 days and SIX different attempts as well as countless follow up attempts to just get some returned communication let alone my money back. But nope, they haven't acknowledged me in the slightest and in 5 days it will be too late to get a refund. Which is WAY overpriced compared to far better VPN services such as NordVPN or Surfshark.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SERVICE!!
THERE ARE SO MANY PROPERLY WORKING VPNs ON THE MARKET.
HMA support is rubbish
HMA support is rubbish. No Chat or phone contact and after 3 days still no response to an email. Can't be another day without a VPN will be using another product and will not be renewing my Subscription.....

I'm currently waiting on a refund for this program because it isn't compatible with my laptop!! So my purchase of this program was a total waste of my time...
Why I will not renew with HMA
I've been an HMA user for a few years. Why ? First because of price, HMA beeing cheaper than others. Because the interface is easy. And that is all the positive.
The negative list is longer.
- Big mix up upon subscription that ended in double subscription.
- Customer service selectively responds to questions. Anything controversial, for example about finances, is ignored.
- If you want to use HMA to work around geographical blocs from other service providers (TV services for example) HMA DOESN'T WORK period. Their IPs get detected.
- some of their IPs are extremely slow.
I do not recommend HMA and personally I will not renew.
