Horrible experience with custom made curtains

Horrible experience when ordering custom made curtains for my 2 year olds room. One curtain arrived shorter than the other, clearly visible and resulting in not covering the window fully. Therefore not confirm the order, clear production mistake. The “solution” the customer service repeatedly offered was to return them, review and potentially adjust the curtains within 2-4 weeks timeframe without a replacement or cover in the meantime. Which would result in not having curtains for a lengthy timeframe, sleep disturbances of my kid and a continuous unpleasant situation for us.
So far no solution found, Hema is not cooperating or human in any kind of way.

Very disappointed with the handling of…

Very disappointed with the handling of my order. I purchased custom-made blackout curtain fabric. The website did not mention that the backside has a coated and differently coloured finish, and photos showed only one side.

After delivery, I contacted customer service. First, they confirmed the backside was not described online. Later, they stated it was clearly mentioned on the website, which I still cannot find on the product page.

For custom-made items that cannot be returned, accurate and complete product information is essential. This was not my experience.

They allow only 5 star product reviews

I left a one star review on their website, following a bad experience with the same product more than once.

I received an email saying that my product review is online, but when I checked, it was not there.

Checked two days later, mine is still not there, but a new 5 star review appeared from someone else.

The only possible explanation is, HEMA staff may have deleted my review shortly after approving, so that I might back off.

Also, I observed that all recent reviews are 5 star.

Because of this, product reviews on the HEMA website is unreliable. They are lying to the customers.

Hema Photo service - DO NOT USE THEM

I gave my disaposable camera (also bought from hema) for development. After 1 months of chasing, they come back to me saying they can't develop it and will refund me the money plus a little amount for a gift voucher. I told them the pictures were from a special occation and their comp is not fair, they just did not care.

For a company that is big, what a ridicilous process in the first place.

I went to their store in the amsterdam…

I went to their store in the amsterdam airport today and i purchased a lipliner which was 2,78€. I gave the lady in the register 3 euros and she gave me 20 cents back. when i asked for the other two cents she replied condescently that those did not exist in the netherlands. she knew i was a tourist and laughed it off with her colleague. it was not about the money but the way the employee handled the situation. very rude.

YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU ORDER + VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have ordered 2 curtains from Hema online.

1 of 263cm length and 245cm width (for a simple door)
1 of 263cm lenght and 230 cm width, this one being split in two different pieces (for a double door)

Problem 1:

the 245cm curtain is WIDER - 252cm from plooi to plooi + some extra cm -> so at least 7cm wider than ordered. I had previously been to Hema and asked a lot of questions about how the curtains are made, I was assured that what I'd get would be a 245cm curtain. It is not the case. I called customer support and the agent told me there is no problem if the curtain is 7cm wider and offered me as a solution to send me an email with the dimension ordered by me. But I know what I ordered and what was delivered is 7cm wider - I cannot use the curtain, since my "roede" si 245cm and the curtain looks very ugly on it.

Problem 2:

Each one of the three separate pieces of curtain I received are actually sewn from 2 pieces that are vertically sewn together - with a very ugly seam, that is obviously visible. I had previously asked at Hema and they ensured me that this would not be the case - that all they curtains are made from one piece of material.

I went to my local Hema shop and was sent back home with the curtains, without being given a solution.
I called the curtain specialist and I was told there is no solution. So now I have lost 316 euros and I have curtains I cannot use.

Very very very very unprofessional.

Please stay away if you don't want to lose your money.

I Gave Up on Shopping at HEMA

I have shopped in HEMA off and on over the course of several years as an expat, but finally gave up on this store completely. The quality for every single item I purchased was so bad, that this store wasn't sufficient for even the simplest of items. For example, I bought pens, but they were all dried out from the time I pulled them from the packaging. It's too bad, because there isn't a large variety of shops in Holland, but I wasted my money too many times at HEMA.

Eternal newsletter subscription

Once you have registered for the newsletter of this company it is impossible to adjust or even end your registration to their newsletter.
Once you click save changes on the adjustment page it will automatically revert all settings back to the full newsletter. In other words, once you have subscribed to the newsletter you are stuck with it forever.
And don't try to contact them about it, they just ignore you.

No returns

They do not allow you to return items that have been open, even if you didn't use them. Just opened the package to realize it's not the right size, but now I have to keep it anyway.

Very polite and kind personnel

I regularly visit HEMA in the centre of Amersfoort (Utrechtsestraat 16) sometimes for kitchen appliances and office supplies or to print photos, often to pick DHL parcels. I’ve had the most positive experience today with three wonderful ladies at the service desk. The sender sent the package via DHL to this HEMA but in a wrong way that it ended up being addressed directly to HEMA. The parcel ended up in a different department completely but I was selflessly helped by these amazing people in a most kind way. Way to go, the level of politeness and humanity, it is so rare these days in the area of customer service.

Hema TWS earbuds - don't waste your money!

I recently bought 2 sets of TWS earbuds from an Hema shop while on holiday in France. The first set took a while to pair with my phone, then they worked well for a few days before one of the charging connectors broke, so I now have a single working earbud. The other set simply won't work as a stereo pair: I can get either the left or the right side to play at any one time, but both together seems to be impossible. I emailed Hema customer support, their reply was polite but essentially said that they were unable to help. I am referring to the Hema TWS earbuds, article number 39.63.0154 don't waste money on them - poor quality product and useless customer support!

Worst customer service

Worst customer service. I bought a long pillow through the website and when it arrived at my house I opened it to see what it was like, it was wrapped in a plastic bag and I couldn't see it without opening it. When I opened it I realized that the pillow was very thin and I immediately went to the store to return the pillow. A lady who is the store manager served me and she was super rude. First she said that I had opened the plastic she couldn't sell it again and when I said that I received it an hour ago and opened it because I couldn't see the pillow she said if I had opened it at the end of the bag she could even accept it , but as I opened it on top she couldn't do anything. How can the customer know this? On the website it says that we can return within 30 days, I went to the store at the same time I received the product so I wouldn't have any problems saying that I used the pillow. She said there was a display on the floor and they didn't have the pillow that I bought as a display, I went to the store before buying to see what the pillow was like but there wasn't one. I lost money and I'm not going to use that pillow. This is very revolting.
