I had a fantastic experience renting a car with Guerin at Lisbon Airport. There was no aggressive marketing or upselling at all. The whole process was fully automated and seamless—I got the car within 10 minutes, and returning it was equally easy. The staff was also very friendly.

Make the payment method easier whether debit or credit card.

Super fast pick up at Lisbon airport when all other rentals had long queues and customers looking very frustrated. First car I received hadn't be cleaned properly so I asked for an exchange, which was done immediately and promptly. Super kind service by the staff! I would always recommend Guerin.

No problem with the car and rental. But after the rental I sent an e-mail and did not get any answer.

We booked a car through easyJet Cars with Guerin for collection at Porto Airport. Our flight arrived on time on 16 July 2026, yet when we reached the rental desk shortly after midnight it was closed. Other car hire companies at the airport were still open, but Guerin had simply shut for the night.

Despite having our booking and flight details, nobody attempted to call, email or otherwise contact us to check whether we were on our way. We were left stranded at the airport with our two young children and had no choice but to pay for a hotel and taxis.

What disappointed us even more was Guerin’s response to our complaint. Rather than acknowledging the situation or showing any empathy, they simply replied that the office closes at its scheduled operating hours. There was no apology, no recognition of the inconvenience caused, and no attempt to resolve the matter.

Customer service is tested when something goes wrong. In our case, Guerin completely failed.

Based on this experience, we will not be using Guerin again, and we cannot recommend them to anyone looking for dependable service.

I met with three employees during the whole pickup and drop off process and they were all friendly, honest, and helpful. After a long flight, it was such a nice surprise to have such a seamless and convenient pickup process. Everything was explained well and the drop off met all of the instructions I was provided during the pick up. The fact there was no negative surprises was a relief and would honestly recommend going with Guerin in Sao Miguel if you are considering options.

Terrible experience at Porto Airport in Portugal from the staff to the condition of the cars are completely disgrace. My car was full of dents and scratches. Some where not marked on the paper you are given so be aware of that and make loads of videos and take photos otherwise you'll be charged. The interior of my car was with a funny smell the staff not friendly at all even worse they are not helpful. I asked to change car related to the condition of the interior and the smell while I went inside to speak with a staff member my bag was left inside of the car when I came outside to the vehicle have notice my bag disappeared I was in panic staff couldn't care less no cameras outside after 10 minutes of stress find out a member of staff have moved my bag to another car exactly the same with a different numberplate keep away from this Rent-A-Car I did a complaint in the Red book of the Company and I'm doing exposition of my situation to guerin head office.

From booking, through pick-up up to drop-down everything very smooth and nonproblematic.
No hidden charges and clear rules.

Very easy to pick up the vehicle comapred to my last visit to Portugal 10 years ago. The vehicle was in good condition minus a few bumps that I reported.

The only thing is that since the car was an Electric Hybrid, it could have been charged for me when I picked it up and that Guerin would be able to give an explanation as to how to charge it while in Portugal.

It was seamless from start to (nearly) finish. Best rental car experience I’ve ever had. Just back from holiday, so still waiting for final stage being deposit refund.

Evrything was ok and very easy procces to cillect and handover the car.

Staff, Booking process, I had to extend the contract and the Agent was very helpful.

Dropping car off took way too long, un-organized and when flying out it’s very difficult to get to my destination without risking missing my flight.
