I am writing this review after giving Vantage Toyota Southport two separate chances, and both times have been a complete disappointment. I live locally, so I thought giving this nearby branch another go would be convenient, but that was a huge mistake. Usually, I get my car serviced at either Toyota Liverpool or Toyota Preston, and the quality of care at those locations is infinitely better.
I paid £465 for my last service here and £300 for this current service, yet the standard of work and basic customer respect is nowhere near what a main dealer should provide. My car has an issue with the emergency SOS system, and despite having it in the workshop, their team couldn't even figure out what the problem was, leaving a fault completely unaddressed. On top of that, after paying £300 this time, they didn't even bother to wash the car. When I pointed this out, their response was simply to tell me to bring the car back another day for a wash. Expecting a customer to waste more time, drive back, and burn fuel just because their staff failed to complete the job properly shows they don't care about people's time or effort at all.
Southport knows how to charge top-tier main-dealer prices, but they don't know how to deliver basic service or look after their customers. I will never, ever bring my car back here again. Stick to Liverpool or Preston where they actually treat customers properly and do the job right. Overall 0/10.

2 months have gone by; this is my fourth review and still my issue remains.
I am quite literally shocked that a company this size can't deal with small issues like this, just imagine if it was something really serious?
You have my details, why not pick up the phone and call me to get this sorted? Is that such a strange request?

Very happy with Vlad, the Salesman, at Group 1 Mercedes Benz Hemel Hempstead. Particularly appreciated after appalling service from Sytner Mercedes Benz Watford (see other review). Communication good, expectations met and very happy with my new CLA 250+.
The missing one star is due to having a very limited showroom (go to Watford to look at theirs) but purchase from Hemel!

we purchased a Mercedes 220d from Mercedes warrington.the issues started from the day we collected the car. The car was sold with a 12 month mot on collecting the car we we're informed that the car had passed with flying colours! I checked on the government mot checker regularly over the next 2 weeks, nothing. I contacted the dealership to be told that the mot hadn't been carried out and we had been lied to.
during the first week a fault with the front proximity sensors became apparent, signaling that there was an obstruction when nothing was present and the air con wasn't cold.it was arranged to bring the car in for the mot and rectify the faults. on arrival we were informed that they could only do the mot due to the number of technicians available. Another date was arranged to fix the sensors and aircon. on the next visit we left the vehicle.on return we were informed that the technicians couldn't find a fault with the sensors and the aircon was working as it should & needed a regas but this couldn't be done without sales authorisation? why didn't the service dept contact sales and get this done immediately on the same day rather than requiring another phone call and visit? I contacted service yet again to arrange for the faults to be fixed. We we're informed there was no loan car available for 4 weeks.we took the appointment. 4 weeks on we received a text message at 5-30pm the day before our appointment, no loan car available.Clearly priority was being given to paying customers. Another appointment was made a week later.
at present the faults appear to have been remedied. over the last 2 weeks I have called your switchboard average ring time 4 minutes.if you ring 0 you get a person who asked is that maureen and hangs up! on 4 occasions ive asked to speak to a senior manager, never anyone available,i was promised on those 4 occasions a priority call back, guess what? never got a call back.Your managers are cowards who don't want to speak to customers to address their issues.
nice car customer service nil points.
VW sold me a car and it was great having a garage in Cheltenham local to carry out services etc. They then closed this overnight without telling anyone. Now my nearest garage is SHREWSBURY! Almost a two hour drive or else I'll lose my warranty by going elsewhere. Never again.

Exceptional experience at Toyota with Graham!
We recently bought a car from Graham, and he was incredibly responsible throughout the whole process. He genuinely focused on our actual needs instead of just trying to push a sale. This car-buying experience was much better and more pleasant than any we had in the past. We highly appreciate his professionalism and the excellent service from Toyota!
We are very happy to recommend Graham to our friends if they would like to buy a car later.

Didn’t get offered a car wash. Even when I asked , I was quickly shut down, saying the person that’s washing cars is on lunch and that I’d have to wait an hour. Didn’t even ask if I’d like to wait! Really dismissive. That’s twice at Kia You be been refused a car wash. Whenever I go to bmw, I always get a car wash without asking and in a timely fashion. These are the small things that stop me wanting to buy a Kia as a future main vehicle and stay with the bmw’s , mercs of the world.
Excellent service from Mercedes-Benz Nottingham. They were professional, helpful and thorough when investigating an issue with my car, and their clear inspection report and advice helped me get the matter resolved with the supplying dealer.
A special thank you to Daniel Morledge, who went above and beyond to ensure the work was completed and the car was returned to us as soon as possible.
Communication was straightforward throughout, and I appreciated the time they took to explain the findings properly. A very positive experience, and I would happily use them again.

Friendly help staff, technicians helpful and skilled. Generous with their time to explain and advise on all my queries. Communications were excellent and the Service was performed on time and car returned cleaned. The free extension to the warranty is a great addition to the service.

Audi Swindon
Traded Q3 against an A1 for my daughter. Online said Q3 was worth over £12K part ex they offered me £10.5 and said they would sell car for £12,995 and said that’s all it is worth and did not understand online valuation. I took it, what a mug I am. Absolute liars my Q3 they are now selling for just below £16K only a £3K lie. Stay away from these Audi approved snakes. I will never consider using them again
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Mercedes-Benz Oxford.
My vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz EQA, which is not yet five years old. The air conditioning system has completely failed, and despite already paying £600 for the diagnosis, I have now been quoted a further £4,000 to replace the faulty components. The quality of such a major component failing on a relatively new Mercedes-Benz is already very disappointing.
My repair appointment was originally scheduled for 30 July.
At around midday on 29 July, Mercedes-Benz Oxford called me. Unfortunately, I was away from my phone, so my 14-year-old daughter answered the call. She was informed that my assigned technician was off sick and that the appointment would need to be rescheduled to 10 August.
To make sure there would be no issues, I called the Mercedes-Benz Oxford service department myself at around 3:00 pm on the same day. I specifically asked whether there were any problems with my appointment and whether my courtesy car had been arranged. The gentleman I spoke to clearly told me that there was no problem with my appointment, that the courtesy car was ready, and that I simply needed to deliver my car before 10:00 am the following morning.
Trusting the information I had been given, I arrived at Mercedes-Benz Oxford at 9:00 am on 30 July.
To my surprise, a female member of staff came out and, without any courtesy or apology, bluntly informed me that my appointment had been cancelled.
I showed her my phone records and explained that I had specifically called the previous afternoon to confirm the appointment and had been assured that everything was in place. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, she responded impatiently and said, "You can leave the car here, but Mercedes-Benz Oxford has no courtesy car available."
At no point during the entire conversation did anyone apologise for the confusion or for the inconvenience caused. Not a single member of staff accepted responsibility for the incorrect information I had been given.
What was even more shocking was her attitude. She accused us of speaking too loudly and even threatened to call security. We had simply been asking why we had been given completely incorrect information and why we had travelled to the dealership unnecessarily.
To make matters worse, we were then told that because we had not confirmed the 10 August appointment during the phone call to my daughter, the earliest available appointment was now 13 August. The whole conversation was conducted as though the situation was somehow our fault, even though the dealership had clearly provided contradictory information.
This experience was not only frustrating but deeply disappointing. Mistakes can happen in any business, but what customers expect is honesty, accountability, and a sincere apology. Instead, we were treated with arrogance, impatience, and complete indifference.
I have never expected this level of poor customer service from Mercedes-Benz. The staff made the mistake, yet the customer was made to feel responsible. This is simply unacceptable and falls far below the standard of service that Mercedes-Benz claims to represent.
Very helpful and kept me informed, small advisory regarding mot , needed to replace wiper blades

I'd advise readers to take comments made on Trustpilot by Group 1 with a pinch of salt. I replied to Group 1's response to my previous review (copied below) and, more than two weeks later, I'm still waiting for a reply. This suggests that responses may be more about managing public reviews than genuinely addressing customer concerns...

Hi,
I added a review to Trustpilot a week ago titled; If Group 1 were the last car dealer in the world, I'd buy a bus pass...
You responded yesterday requesting some additional information. The vehicle registration was GP69 AUN and I was dealing with Group 1 Assured, Norwich Central.
I have tried raising a complaint via the complaints process detailed on your website but received no response. This was submitted on 3rd June 2026 as per automated response.

I'd be interested to understand the view from your management team (As referenced in your Trustpilot response) on the whole debacle, and indeed the lack of response to my initial complaint.

Hello Paul,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are extremely sorry to read about your experience and the disappointment caused.
We fully appreciate how upsetting it must have been for what should have been a special occasion for your daughter's 21st birthday to instead result in the rejection of the vehicle at collection.
We also understand the frustration and stress caused by the delays in processing the refund of your deposit and settling the associated finance agreement.
At Group 1 Automotive, we strive to ensure that vehicles are presented accurately and to a high standard, and we are disappointed to learn that the condition of the vehicle did not meet your expectations on arrival. We also recognise your concerns regarding communication, the time taken to resolve matters following the rejection, and the impact this had on you.
Whilst we cannot discuss the specifics of your case in a public forum, we take comments of this nature very seriously. The experience you describe is not representative of the level of service we aim to provide, and we sincerely apologise for the frustration and inconvenience caused.
We would welcome the opportunity to review your concerns further. Please contact our Customer Services team at ***************, quoting your vehicle registration number and review details, and a member of the team will be happy to investigate and discuss the matter with you directly.
We understand that this situation has left you with a poor impression of our business, and we regret that we were unable to deliver the positive customer experience you rightly expected. Your feedback has been shared with the relevant management team for review.
will never buy a car again from group1 no matter what make they sell.i was lied to by the dealership saying the bits that needed doing where done nothing but absolute lies. I refused to accept the car dealership said they would do it now too late now.
