HORRENDOUS.
HORRENDOUS.
I needed to file on Companies House. In order NOW to log on to Companies House, you need to log in to GOV.UK.
They put you through various security, email checks for logging on, then they send you a FOUR DIGIT code to your mobile number. PROBLEM you try sorting this issue if you have, like many people changed or no longer has access to the registered mobile number.
Three hours later (and my filing on Companies house website would have taken me three minutes) I was still no further forward in logging on to GOV.UK. This was despite a nice Indian? Lady trying to help me.
This Country is an absolute disgrace in many many respects.
Useless website and app - not fit for purpose
Had to create an account to renew driving licence online. Terrible process. Going round and round in circles...kept repeating process . Got texted numerous security codes. Need the app which kept asking me to log in. Had to scan id which kept failing. Whoever dreamt this up needs sacking! Not user friendly and left me angry and exasperated. Is this really progress??"
This has got to be the worst app ever…
This has got to be the worst app ever designed.
What idiot or idiots designed this app. It is utter crap.
I have had to use this app approx 5 times now and each time big problems.
This needs scrapping and the designers need sacking.
A time wasting useless app designed by idiots.
Utterly Crap
Useless website ran by useless individuals. Thanks a bunch!
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful, through the system and circles, nothing
Prefect bureaucracy
A bureaucracy so thick asked you for ID when you're applying for an ID card
It was awful.
It was awful. Last time I renewed my driving license online it was easy. This time it had me tearing my hair out. I had to walk away and get help. That didn't mean it was easier. It just meant we went down the rabbit hole together.
Why are we forced to add an overly complicated app. It doesn't add anything positive to the process. Mine kept refusing to accept my address. In the end we input it manually.
Speaking to a family member I learned that it had taken them 2 days to change their address. They got so frustrated with it that they had to walk away.
I presume this is the digital ID that we don't want by the back-door.
GOV.ONE's new requirement for photo-id is overly complicated
I already had a GOV.ONE account, so when it came to renewing my drivers' licence; I didn't anticipate any problems. However, they've since introduced photo-id as part of the sign-in. Well, what an over-complicated way of doing things! I was instructed to download an app on my phone. I don't use apps on my phone, prefering to use my tablet, which has a sensible sized screen and a dedicated keyboard. I started the process on my desktop computer, tried to use another method of validation. I tried my passport - no joy. Then I tried putting in all the details of my drivers' licence - still no joy. I changed to use my tablet. I reluctantly downloaded the app on my tablet. But there was no way I was allowed to take a photo on the tablet, which I've done before on other apps - both documents and an actual photo of me. But, no I was told to use my phone. I don't use my phone in this way. I ended up having to drive 20miles to the nearest participating Post Office. Even then it wasn't simple. I had request a letter, state exactly what document I would present and do it within 16 days! What a ridiculously complicated procedure. Please simplify this photo-id requirement. A tablet can take a photo. Or a camera can take a photo and be loaded on to a desktop for uploading. I'm quite concerned now, as early next year I will need to renew my passport. This will involve uploading a new photo. I hope you simplify this procedure before I have to go through all this again. I spent a very long time trying to sort this out. I appreciate you want to help your customers to help themselves; but please be aware that people have different prefences as to how they use online services. Some prefer to access a website through their browser, rather than using an app. I use very few apps, and any apps I do use aren't on my phone. My phone is a fiddly little device to use for formal applications, and I prefer a proper keyboard.
I am very dischuffed with the software writers for this service. Please simplify the process. I'm not the only one, to struggle to sort this out.
Government garbage at public expense
Three times recently I have tried to use the Gov.UK website.
On each occasion, I found a catalogue of faults and, after answering correctly a comprehensive list of personal (and in some cases unnecessary and intrusive) questions, I reached the stage of security questions based on information held by credit reference and other agencies. I had reluctantly provided my mobile telephone number, been sent a code, and gone through two factor identification procedure twice.
I clicked on continue and was immediately rejected. Apparently my name, address, date of birth, driving licence and other details were insufficient to identify me.
In total I wasted in excess of two hours of my time. That is time upon which I place exceptional value, because I am terminally ill.
I have used microprocessors since the 1980s and the internet since its inception in the mid1990s. I calculate that I have visited over a million websites and have interacted with thousands of them. This gov.UK website ranks among the very poorest that I have ever encountered. Schoolchildren can produce better.
To check that the problem did not lie with me, I visited this review site. The reviews are scathing and illuminating. Someone in authority should be obliged to read them.
This is typical government waste at public expense.
The government has such contempt for the public that they believe that it is reasonable to expect, indeed eventually force, citizens to deal with their various departments via this utterly substandard software.
It glitches and takes you for a loop…
It glitches and takes you for a loop ride leading to nowhere. Just to inform you at the end, after long time spent on this idiotic invention :
"Sorry, there's a problem. Try again later."
Typical, British way of bureaucratic disregard and disrespect.
Useless
Useless! I wasted 2 hours and decided to give up. It doesn't work.
Absolutely EPICLY Appauling
Absolutely EPICLY Appauling! Nothing works and when it does, its an infinite, never ending labarynth to navigate. Id rather eat my own leg than deal with anything GOV related.
Incompetent government identification process
I was asked by an employer to do a basic DBS check. The process to verify my identity did not work and after nearly three hours of trying I contacted the help line.My identity details are correct and my conclusion is the agency that deals with taking the information doesn’t communicate with the government website. The help line suggests that I verify my identity at the post office. How is it that documents that are produced by the government cannot be verified? Two attempts later trying to produce a verification process that can be used at the post office and a total of £43.00 I got a little bit closer to my aim.I will attempt to verify my identity with the documents the government made (driving licence and passport) at the post office.I think that whoever designed the process of verification of identification on the government site is either incompetent or has a sick sense of humour. No wonder mental illness is on the rise.
Completely useless
Completely useless, took 3 attempts to download, then entered unending cycle of repeated information, facial recognition didn't work and kept saying try again and when I did the same cycle happened, same questions to answer more codes sent but wouldn't work, waste of space until they address major issue, that is it doesn't work
This would send a saint to drink
What a complete shambles
What a complete shambles, One Login is hopeless, helpdesk just say they can't help you. Tempted to never use Gov.uk digital services again.
Not fit for purpose
Not fit for purpose, front end MPs or back end services online such as VAT, HMRC, etc etc. Even trying to find the link can sometimes blow your mind!
I spent 1.hour 40 minutes to sign up…
I spent 1.hour 40 minutes to sign up with personal details etc and my. bio metric passport to get an app so that I could renew my over 70 driving licence. A pile of rubbish ending up with an error page. Forget it... waste of time and public money. Use the form DVLA have sent and delete my account with HMG.
