DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Wish I could give negative star review! They charged my credit card twice and after 4 phone calls and two weeks time they have yet to credit my account. Keep getting the same response "we are sorry someone should get back to you in 24 to 48 hours". Well that was two weeks ago and still no resolve. One of the customer service reps said "this has been happening quite a bit lately". REALLY, that is your answer!
Getty Images refuses to respond for photo credits
Getty Images refuses to respond to a request. It seems almost every photo someone posts on the internet suddenly has Getty Images credit on it. I call Bull. I posted a series of nature photos I took of a Conservation Park and posted them on TripAdvisor . NOW they have Getty credit. How many photos online have they actually paid for and how many have they stolen? Or taken credit for?
Do NOT do business with Getty Images
We purchased 1 image for $499.
We clicked purchase. Nothing happened.
We were then billed $499.
When we contacted customer service we were told it would take some time to resolve. Approximately 1 week later we received a refund.
We went back to their site and clicked purchase again for the same image. This time we were charged TWICE for 1 image.
Almost a month and several emails later... still no refund. We contacted our credit card company who thankfully was able to overturn the charges.
I would strongly recommend that you do NOT use Getty Images for any of your needs.
US$565 for a Picture of the Mt. Palomar Observatory.
US$565 for a Picture of the Mt. Palomar Observatory in 21mp resolution (5616x3744). Same pic for US$28 on istockphoto in the same resolution. Massive scam.
For real, depending on where you live, booking a flight to California and back or just driving there and taking a Picture of it yourself will cost you less.
$175 for an image are you joking?
$175 for an image? this is outrageous! Can get same quality of images on other sites for as little as $5.
Very worst site for contributors
Don't contribute anything to gettyimages.
1) Very low royalties in microstock, 15% for photos/vectors and 20% for videos, So, the hardwork is yours but they take major part (85% and 80%).
2) This is the only microstock agency where you see $0.01-$0.05 as royalties.
3) They don't show realtime statistics, where as all other microstock agencies shows, isn't it suspicious? Are they not doing any fraud in this?
4) Very worst customer service
5) They don't allow you to edit/delete some or all of your files. You need to contact them for that. And they don't respond positively for those requests
DO NOT DEAL WITH GETTY IMAGES (ISTOCKPHOTO)
This is a horrible company. We bought a few pictures and paid with PayPal. The transaction was completed in a few seconds and showed up in our PP account as completed, but the credits never showed up in our account. PP confirms, when a transaction is "completed" the recipient has the money in his PP account. Only I made quite an alarm on the phone, they gave me the credits.
Now they say, they never received the money and they will revoke the licence. The transaction is still completed and PayPal has our money, NEVER again, (we are an agency and Getty Images just lost thousands of Dollars)

Cheating contributors
I requested to terminate my account because their low royalty rates 15-20%, and low earnings like $0.02 even for videos. After that they removed my content, But they cheated me by not paying my February earnings which crossed above their minimum threshold.
Please don't upload any content to getty images, it devalues your work.
And don't buy anything from getty images

Thanks for ruining the internet by complaining to Google to remove the View Image option, when it's your failure to not put unwatermarked images on Google. Thanks for ruining it, I won't EVER use you.
A little on the pricey side
A little on the pricey side, but the quality and originality of the images are unbelievable. Really happy with the print we ordered. High quality and the frame looked great.

I used an unlicensed and non water marked photo off the internet for my website. A few months later I received a letter from Getty Images demanding over a thousand pounds for it.
At some point after I had used the photo, Getty had added it to their listings. I tried to explain about the photo i used was not their property when i put it on my website, but the company denied this.
Their demands for the fee continued for nearly a year. I even had a debt recovery company ring me. I told them I wanted to be taken to court to have my say. I wrote several letters to Getty also stating this.
In the end they didn't pursue my payment.
Getty Images are a con and they will lie and cheat to extort money from who ever will be weak enough to hand over their cash. If you are cheated by this scum, evil company, don't pay them a penny. DEMAND THEY TAKE YOU TO COURT TO PROVE YOUR CASE. They won't because they are the ones in the wrong. Don't give in to tyranny and corporate greed.

Best site for contributors
As an illustrator that has used many platforms to sell my artwork, Getty has been the best by far. I've had lots of issues with the way Shutterstock treats their contributors and very inconsistent sales with Adobe Stock. Getty has been great to work with and gives me the highest return on my illustrations. The only complaint I have is inconsistent approval process when I upload new illustrations. Sometimes they get approved right away, other times I'm asked to prove that I created the artwork. I do wish there was more trust, specially with exclusive contributors.

Not up to date.
Not up to date.
Our agency have used Getty (and paid a lot of money) over some years now. Many needs have been met but it's striking how little up to date they are. Our agency is working a lot with video and video for social media in particular. Therefore it's really disappointing that they don't offer vertical or even square video. It's the same old 16:9 format like it has always been. This is strange considering the need for vertical and square video these days. Of course you can crop the videos but that's not optimal. Not even close.
Threaten vulnerable people. Pathetic opportunists
A poorly run company who seek to threaten people with lawsuits.
I wont purchase images from them becuase of the stories ive read.
