Not nice experience

I bought a van from gd motors through zuto finance.
We arranged pick up of the van on wednesday 25th Feb. We said we will be there for around 2.30. We drove 1 hour to get there and arrived a little quicker than we expected as not much traffic. We arrived at 2.10. We was greeted with "i wasn't expecting you till 2.30 and it seemed to anger him".
We took the van away and was happy with the van . Till 2 days later the van engine management light come on and the ad blue light come on . We filled the ad blue up and it still said we had no ad blue. So I called gd motors who said "OK ring me tomorrow and we can get it booked in" . Which i did and arranged for Friday 6th March at 10 to 10.15 drop off. I set off and sadly forth road bridge was very heavy with traffic so I quickly sent a txt to gd motors saying ill be there 15 min late. I arrived at 10.35 and I was met with "you're too late" . He then asked me again whats wrong with the vehicle and I said again for the 4th time what was wrong. I said I cant drive it back as the engine will shut down in less than 100 miles . The salesman said we dont accept repairs after 8.30 which I jumped on and we said we agreed 10 to 10.15 though and I did message to say I was running late due to the bridge as I live on other side of fife. He sighed and went and spoke to a mechanic who agreed to plug the van into the diagnostics machine and 10 min later they found the fault and said that they need to take to another garage. They need a couple of hours. So I agreed ill go for a wander and be back at 2 . I asked for them to call me if it is going to be later than 2 so I dont come back for nothing. 2 come along I returned and no van. He said he doesn't know whats happening and they will try find out. I was then told it would be at least another hour so once again left wandering the streets for an hour I returned at 3 and still no van. Finally they said we will go and get the van . I finally got the van back at 3.20 ish and they still hadn't fixed one of rhe faults that I had reported. I didnt want to go in again so drove van home.
I'd also like to say the young boy they have there about 11 years old driving cars around and helping out needs to stop staring at people. Not very nice when you have this boy staring at you and glaring. A customer walked in while I was there and said that boy is staring at us and I agreed yeah its not very nice. I wouldn't buy from this company again. As the customer service is appalling. People staring and not made to feel welcome and communication is appalling. The van was fixed yes but only just. So dar seems OK but I have lost faith in the van and have spoke to finance company about rejecting the van as I've lost faith in it and that I will get it repaired by gd motors under its warranty.

Lovely new car

I have recently bought a new car from Peter and it has been the best experience I have ever had. From start to finish it has been a pleasure, as soon as I had received confirmation from the car finance the car was ready to be collected within 24 hours. Car was in amazing condition and was valeted and ready to drive away. I have recently overcome a problem with not having a locking wheel nut for the car and I contacted Peter, who has been nothing but helpful to me and is happy to help me source one. Nothing seems too much trouble to him. I would highly recommend this garage. Absolute pleasure. Thank you!

Great experience

I bought my car almost a year ago and it’s still running perfectly. The staff were friendly, professional, and answered all my questions. The buying process was quick and stress-free, and the car was exactly as advertised. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable used car.

If you want trouble, buy from GD Motors

Had a car exchange with this company in May 2024 and till date, they never sent the V5 to HMRC. I am getting fines upon fines at my address and under my name as it appears the new owner of the car (Kia Picanto reg no. MK61PFA) just enjoy driving through bus lanes and parking anyhow in Aberdeen. I have reported it several times to them yet they do not care. Unfortunately it is challenging when you don't have the V5 and log book with you to make the changes yourself at DVLA.
Never buy from this company. They don't take their administrative duties seriously. Their cars are even expensive when compared to other garages. I am having to involve the police and other authorities in this matter. The matter is ongoing.

Do Not use these guys to buy a car

Do Not use these guys to buy a car. I bought a White KIA Picanto for £4000 and when I got it home it died and I had to get the AA out to get it started again to get it back to the garage and they changed the battery. The battery should have been checked as part of the final check to hand over the car to any customer. I then took the car to an independent garage and got them to inspect it and they found masses wrong with the car and i had to take it to 2 other garages to confirm it and they found even more issues each time. the Dealership GD motors refused to help me with this issue and said there was nothing wrong with it at all. I then got called by the finance company and they told me they were sending another company to come do an inspection them selves and they confirmed all the issues. Please note I never even put 150 miles on the clock from getting it to the point they had no choice but to collect it, so all damage and issues were previous to me owning it.over £4000 worth of work was required. It took me nearly 4 months to get the car handed back to them as they tried so hard to refuse to take it back.
The sales man Peter was extremely rude to me on the phone and to my face when I was completely calm and polite, and even the day I took back the spare key and V% log book he still argued with me and swore away like a Buffoon. I sat in my other car opposite the dealership and even watched him going at it with another customer in the street while the owner was talking to me at my window. he is a joke. and a massive negative impact on GD motors reputation that is struggling anyway. mainly due to PETER i guess.

Wish I had seen these before I bought…

Wish I had seen these before I bought vechile as having nothing but hassle out almost 5 months of buying car only drove it first 3 weeks. While trying to get it fixed waa told to pass message to them through csr fiance an he swore at me an hung up. Well 8 days later picked car up an he's don't take this wrong way but hope I don't f see you again. In way home tyre pressure light still on and red warning light on. Went to car finace also . Week before Xmas I reluctantly took car out am clutch went again. Contacted fiance who dealt with dealer who admitted not touching the car as couldn't find anything wrong so he put me and my family in danger. Long story short after waiting over a week car finally got picked up on 23rd January am still he tried to say nothing wrong an car fiance got people in to check am clutch is in need of repair. So still sitting with no car so house bound as I can't get out due to my ill health an Nedd a car even just to get to shop. Friday I receive a penalty notice from glasgow city Council as my csr was being driven in Glasgow. Immediately noticed them an said they were test driving it x loaf of crap man and woman in my car. When he had car before he added 200 miles onto milage so god knows what it will be like now an I havnt even driven 30 miles. Did a bit of digging myself an checked mot an when he sold car comparing it to what's on dvla its less than what's on mot. An still 3 weeks later no car an still house bound

Not accommodating or empathetic.

A few things to say about this company. Following a first visit arranged between gd motors and my car finance guy. On a recorded call we have an employee (Peter) acknowledging that we would have someone coming down to see the car. Apparently, in Peter’s “27 years of being at this company” he has never known that people coming to see a car meant they would want to test drive the car. He was less than accommodating and unwilling to come to any compromise on the day, following an apparent surprise of our arrival. The car was left parked in the yard, hidden between cars. Peters exact words were “I’m not going to go dig the car out of the yard now” and gave us the keys to find the car ourselves, not even aiding us. Following this disaster I arranged a test drive myself for the following Saturday, to which Peter wrote down in his famous diary. (Famous as apparently if nothing is written in it then nothing has been arranged according to him) following this I was told we would need a £200 holding deposit (which is understandable) and I called my finance company to sort that out infront of Peter, assuring him the company would pay that the same day. This first trip had already cost £23 for a return train ticket just because the car was not brought out the yard on Peter’s wisdom. Following this, I was travelling in the next Saturday and was running slightly late, out of courtesy I gave Peter a quick call to let him know I would be running late but would still be coming, only for an extremely lethargic and unapologetic Peter to spit out the car had been sold the day before. Apparently the holding deposit hadn’t been paid and Peter had “apparently” tried to call my finance company to question this and when no one had answered the first time, he would move on to a new buyer having not said anything to anyone, including myself who was already on the way to the dealership. He was extremely quick to assign blame to anyone but himself, 0/10 sales ability as he would rather loose a sale than assist a customer to look at a car. I cannot discourage this dealership enough. I can appreciate that your not to judge a company based on one employee, except this employee has worked “27 years” at this company and was trusted to run it by himself. Not even an apology was uttered during my brief call, he just said “I can’t hold the car on a promise”. I’ve never seen such poor client management in my life.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I bought a van from del boy at the start of the month, and they failed to road tax it after i sent them the money upon collecting the van. They also never had my v5, (still waiting on it 4 weeks later). Because of their negligence, my van got clamped, and I was unable to work for two days. Trying to get them to pay the road tax & contact the dvla to get the clamp off was a struggle. This resulted in me losing my job altogether. Their incompetence has cost me not just time and money but also my livelihood. I wouldn’t trust them with a toy car, let alone anything important. I phoned them back up after losing my job and he couldn't care less. Not once trying to resolve the situation by covering loss of earnings or contacting my company. Avoid at all costs unless you want to end up in a mess like I did!

NOT ROAD LEAGAL

I bought a car from here in January and when I went to collect it the first thing was as soon as I started the car it came up needing an oil change but was told it had just been serviced and light hadn't been reset but within a week I was driving but there was no power in the car so I took it to my mechanic who identified a few issues one being the brake pads where down to just 20% left and it had a coolant leak and a turbo whine so they took the car back for repairs and as far as I'm aware these problems where fixed then 2 weeks ago I was on the motorway back from Edinburgh when there was a bang and black smoke from the exhaust and the car wouldn't go above 60mph so took it back to my mechanic who told me the turbo had gone.

I contacted GD Motors who where going to let me try claim on my warranty until I found out the car had had a stage 1 and 2 remap done on it and a DPF bypass done which means it's not even road legal, so I contacted GD Motors and said they where responsible for the repair and they agreed to do the work, it then took them almost a week to collect the car and I have called daily for an update because they did not call me once even though they told me daily they would call with an update until today a week after the car was collected they announced that the turbo was now off the car but couldn't tell me when it would be ready so after my last phone call today I decided to call the shots and sent them a message to say if the car wasn't ready for tomorrow the 17th April that I was starting an unwind, I then received a call telling me to F*** off they weren't singing to my song (I guess that referred to my message) and hung up.

This was not a road legal car and was sold to me as a standard Ford focus st.

Just an update on this review.

Sadly I've been contacted by the new owner of this vehicle, Ddmotors at it once again and sold this bucket on to a poor unsuspecting customer who they lied to from start by telling them that I had handed the car back because I couldn't afford the payment, absolute lies and within weeks of the new owner having the car they ran into the same problems I did with the turbo and all the other stuff that had been done to the car that they didn't inform me about or the new owner. When I last spoke with the new owner I was told that Gdmotors had had the car for more than 2 months supposedly fixing the issues but while it was with them the new owner received parking tickets for it even though it wasn't I'm their possession. This place really needs to be shut down before they scam anyone else!!!!!
