Freeview is NOT FIT for purpose

Freeview is NOT FIT for purpose. Government keep selling 4g 5g spectrum bandwidth which makes them billions and tv licence payers suffer a joke of a service. Government then wonder why people are refusing to pay for a tv licence.

Freeview try to say its due to the weather, however it seems rather odd it always has problems at the same time (mid evening around 8pm) come rain/sunshine high or low pressure.

I for one do not believe their excuses and am sick of the crap service. Their website is about as usefull as a chocolate teapot.
Never updated with any usefull information - in fact they may as well not bother.

Guess this will be one less tv licence payer as im forced to use streaming services rather than freeview crap and dont watch bbc biased broadcasting company.

Appalling customer service!

I used live chat to ask a question. The person was extremely unhelpful and did not provide an answer to my question. She even ended the chat without asking! Appalling customer service!

Misleading website- don't be fooled over the number of channels you will have

I live in an area with poor aerial reception and so channel availability is limited, however, the Freeview website clearly states that you can view all of their channels on an internet connected TV via Freeview Play so I purchased a play box for £179. It turns out that this is not the case after all- if you can't get them via your aerial, you can't get them period. I queried this with the online chat service and 'Miriam' elected not to address any of my concerns re being misled and so I now have a £179 Humax play box that I don't need but can't return because its been opened.

I have to agree with the recent reviews I have observed. In these rather upsetting times I and my husband would wish to be brought into some joyous, hopefulness and optimism not pessimism..not good for the sole, especially over the recent pandemic of sadness and dreariness. Please can we have some joyfulness/mystery/overcoming pessimism with optimism! Come back Saturday morning pictures of fun for life for the good not evil!l

Missing channels

The problem for me is that the two channels I would wish to watch I cannot get. Weston Super Mare is not in the middle of no where.
Reasons given but not of any help to me.

Repeats

Repeats, repeats, repeats ..... Very old programmes and films. Do they care about their customers, no! Do they read the reviews, no! So many people can't afford paying for their programmes. Should be ashamed of themselves.

Freeview is absolutely terrible

Freeview is absolutely terrible. Most channels are boring and repeats going back years and years. Let's face it they don't care about who's watching it they only care about the money. It's riddled with so many adverts that it's unwatchable, can hardly go 10 minutes without a loads of ads. It's a waste of time and should be broken up and a company that doesn't want to line their pockets put in control. Whoever is at the top should be ashamed of themselves.

Poor Service on BBC1

BBC1 is continually poor and you can't complain. If you check the transmitter it continually says there is no problems. If that's the case why are we having problems. Freeview should be probe by the Watchdog.

Crap TV, Crap Owner

Of course Freeview is crap it’s owned by another crap company BBC !!! BBC should be forced to drop the British from their title, they are no longer the premier and only broadcasting company, but just another crap bottom end player !!!

I have to agree with the majority on here you get interested in a programme then 10 minutes into it there is then 10 minutes of adverts so in desperation of watching charity adverts for donkeys you switch over to BBC I know the adverts pay for the service but they are rediculously long is free view providing a service or an advertising platform ??

Yet another set of utterly dire…

Yet another set of utterly dire Christmas through to New Year films. The repetition of a number of shows from the first to last series over and over again is mind numbing. The includes the films. The BBC seem determined to force viewers to sign up for pay per view with other companies. Certain channels reception regularly vanishes or becomes unwatchable.

If I could give free view zero stars I…

If I could give free view zero stars I would. Repeat after repeat is all I can say for this waste of time TV. My god every channel is just a waste of time from BBC to forces TV at channel 96. No wonder people eligally down load compared to the Xmas rubbish and year round rubbish that these channels show.

Useless service.

Its a total lottery whether you will be able to watch certain channels or not. Sometimes channel 81 Talkingpicturestv won't even show at all!! Other days it's perfect, this happens on quite a few of the Freeview channels, so unreliable and the amount of ads is ridiculous!!! The money Freeview rake in from excessive ads should guarantee a good service.
