Ordered a frame online. Received an order confirmation. Then a day later apologies because they didn't have the frame after all. Had the cheek to try and sell me a larger size!

Overall really good experience ordering online. Was looking for the Speialized Tarmac Sport 2015, the website said it was in stock and was also in the sale however when I contacted the shop it was out of stock. Instead of letting me get off the phone they offered me the 2016 model with a discount. Delivery was quick and customer service great. Couldn't ask for more.

I have had nothing but trouble with this company. I was forced to set up an account and ran into trouble trying to log in for the first time. I rang the shop directly hoping to resolve my problem. The person on the phone asked me sarcastically if I had clicked on the email link to activate my account. I hadn't done this although as all I wanted to do was buy some helmet visor cleaner it was an oversight that didn't qualify for verbal punishment by the churlish employee. Once I verified my account I was able to place my order. After a considerable delay I still had not received my visor cleaner. I logged into my account and noticed that it had not even been dispatched yet. I sent a questioning email and after a few days I received an automated email stating that the goods had been shipped. This clearly indicates that no one had bothered to post me my item. For some reason they sent my item signed for delivery and so as I work had to travel approximately ten miles to collect it from the delivery depot.

I experienced nothing but rudeness and trouble with this company. They lacked a distinct personal touch. Although they were the cheapest for the visor cleaner I would not use them again and suggest you look elsewhere if you are under the impression that because you have paid for something that you should receive it without any hassle.

Why claim to beat competitors price if you have no intention of doing so?
In this case price difference was only£2.25 but Freeborn claimed "we can't beat that price" , won't more like.
False advertising?

I purchased a child's bike online (peanuts) - with very little profit to Freeborn, regardless this company have provided me with absolutely outstanding customer service - I have found the staff very friendly, helpful and available when required (I phoned twice requesting guidance - on both occasions my call was answered within seconds and advise given) - very impressed and would highly recommend.

Garmin forerunner 235 ordered online, communication from the shop was super quick and efficient. The best price on the Internet for this product and I would buy from this shop again.

Friendly and helpful staff made some great suggestions with the spec of spec the bike and followed up with really good attention to detail on the build. Bike rides like a dream.

Having found what I was looking for on-line, the Freeborn staff went out of their way to put my order together over the phone. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, explaining the different options available and guiding me through the "Cycle to Work Scheme". A special thanks to both Joe and Michael who responded to my queries promptly, and made the whole process from initial enquiry to delivery a pleasure.

Initially I was quite impressed as they contacted me (by phone) the moment I placed my order on 30 November to tell me it was on back order, although this didn’t show on the website. On 20 January I got a non delivery card. Then the fun began – Freeborn will only deliver to the card holders address or once despatched a nominated neighbour in the same post code after a failed delivery. I e-mail them and the courier giving them permission for an unattended delivery and got a phone call saying they wouldn’t approve that. I then rang them and was told that it was company policy and it didn’t matter what I the customer wanted there was no point in my speaking to a supervisor. This is after I had confirmed that I accepted the risk and took full responsibility.

I have to say that the courier company, APC - UK Shuttle, were as helpful as they could be under the circumstances without breaking the rules imposed upon them by a company that doesn’t seem to get that the Internet and convenience go hand in hand (or should) – even UPS will do unattended deliveries if you leave the driver a signed note.

Whilst I will admit to getting cross on the phone the sales representative was not helpful and certainly not working with me to resolve the issue. None of his suggestions actually involved something which would have solved the delivery problem – oh apart from paying for extra delivery for an a.m. or p.m. delivery which would still have meant staying at home.

This experience reminded why I always try to use companies who use the Royal Mail so that the customer can collect from their local post office.

Why buy from this company when there are so many out there that get it – Wiggle, Pro Bike Kit, even Evans

I ordered a Park tools derailleur alignment tool and although they didn't have it in stock, they got it from their supplier on next day delivery and it was with me the day after, freepost too. That's very good service!

Bought some shoes as they were much cheaper than elsewhere. Ordering was easy and very quick delivery.

All good.

I was seeking to purchase a Kinesis Tripster ATR and was fortunate to come across the enthusiastic and knowledgeable team at Freeborn. A quick telephone call confirmed that the Freeborn guys knew what they were talking about and provided some good, practical advice regarding various upgrades to the standard bike build. Within minutes of my call I placed my order for the Tripster, which duly arrived just three working days later, in absolutely perfect condition! Although I have a number of road and MTBs, I have never previously had the confidence to purchase a bike on line, but such was the level of advice and quality of service provided by the Freeborn guys, I had no hesitation in doing so and my confidence in the team was absolutely borne out by the speed of delivery and the careful manner in which they had packaged and set up the bike. Highly recommended and I will certainly have no hesitation in in using Freeborn again!

Ordered a 2015 Saracen Mantra Pro online in the sale, chose bank transfer as they are local to me and wanted to pick up the bike rather that have it delivered. Got a call the next day saying that the 2015 model was no longer available but that they would sell me the just released 2016 model at 15% off the rrp if I wanted. Took them up on thier offer and paid over the phone on Thursday afternoon and told that I had missed the window for it to be ordered and ready on Saturday but that it should be ready to pick up Monday. Got a call the next day (Friday) and told the bike was in and ready, picked it up Saturday and did 14 miles on it that afternoon , 48 hours after ordering. Can't complain with that service! Definitely recommend these chaps and will be back.

I would totally recommend dealing with these guys. From my experience I would suggest checking out their website then give them a call to discuss what you want to buy. The bike I wanted was out of stock, I got a much better bike after they gave me further discount on a more expensive bike. This arrived 48 hours later and after two calls to the workshop to assist in set up my 10 year old son hit the local mountain bike trail this morning. A perfect buying experience. I hope Freeborn do well.

Just taken delivery of my Specialized Enduro 29'r 2015 from the team at Freeborn, I found their price to be the cheapest online price including free delivery. The bike arrived on time and well built ready for the trails. Many Thanks to Michael and the team for the great service and exceptional pricing for my new Wagon Wheeler. Regards Dougie

I used trust pilot to check out Freeborns before buying my bike from them, so I thought I should add my experience. I got a Genesis Day 1 Di2, which I've been riding to work for about 4 weeks now. I dealt with Joe at the shop, he was really helpful and did me an amazing deal on the bike. I paid on the Sunday, there was a two day delay, as in checking the DI2, a part needed to be replaced (good sign that they check these things). Bike received on the Friday, out to Germany, which is pretty good going (especially considering the postal firms over here are constantly striking at the moment). I had a bit of an issue setting the Di2 up, which in the end was my own incompetence at not pushing the connector in firmly enough - even so, Joe offered to ship a new battery, just in case it was a dudd. The bike is awesome by the way, excellent for road and trail commuting. Overall, the shop was friendly, helpful, quick to respond and extremely price competitive, from my experience you could not fault them.

I ordered my new bike-a Kinesis Tripster ATR through Freeborn Bikes as, although distant to me, they had a superb offer on at the time. I spoke with knowledgeable staff about customization options (Michael) and found ordering very straight forward. I changed my mind on 2 subsequent occasions adding different specifications to my order, all taken in heir stride by the company and duly noted. There was a problem with the supply line (Outside Freeborn's control) which meant that the bike did not arrive at the due time but I was kept informed about the process and as soon as the bike arrived in store I received a call and it was built up and dispatched incredibly promptly with some kind extras sent in a separate package . I really couldn't fault the service I received and certainly couldn't fault the deal I got which saved me several hundred pounds over prices quoted by other suppliers-I would definitely feel very comfortable using this company again

This was my first order from Freeborn and it definitely WONT be my last!! Outstanding customer service, I delt with Michael Bond who was really friendly and kept me informed at every stage during my order process.
Delivery was spot on, the driver called me prior to delivery to make sure I was home, we arranged a time slot and he arrived within minutes of the time we arranged.
The bike arrived in secure packaging and had been fully checked by one of the maintenance team. The bike had been set up perfectly just a case of bars on, pedals on and away we went.

I will definitely recommend Freeborn to family and friends.

First order from Freeborn, dealt with Michael Bond from the sales team, great service from start to finish, answered all my queries and even called me to make sure that I had the right tool to install my new crank set.

Correct items arrived quickly and all the items were extremely well packaged. Would highly recommend them and will certainly use them again in the future.

Got a Devinci Dixon frame from their internet shop, it arrived within a few days, no issues.
Michael at Freeborn answers emails extremely fast with to the point advice about anything, Joe in the workshop built with a custom set of components that I bought from elsewhere. The build shows great attention to detail and it performs flawlessly.
The vibe in their shop is really welcoming, I've recently rekindled my youths passion for mountain biking but find that some bike shops and workshops can have a slightly intimidating atmosphere. Everyone at Freeborn were really respectful of my build and what I wanted from my bike and gear, so all in all a great shop that I will certainly come back to!
