The whole cruise was superb from boarding the cruise on Borealis. The food, entertainment, staff, cleanliness was all great. We sat as a table of 5 on table 127 each evening in the Borealis restaur... See more

About Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines
Written by the company
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines operates a fleet of three elegant, smaller-sized ships, Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral. The size of our ships allows us access to more interesting places, and means we can dock in the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities, and our itineraries are carefully crafted so that our guests travel to these amazing places at the very best time of year.
On board, Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you will visit – from Itinerary Insights, where special guest speakers and local experts will host talks, workshops and demonstrations to provide a deeper understanding of the destinations, to Treats of the Region, where guests can enjoy local delicacies and learn how to create delicious regional dishes.
Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble.
At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, we channel our 175 years of experience into making your holidays simply unforgettable by meticulously crafting our cruises to provide an experience that helps to create memorable journeys for our guests.
With sailings from five departure ports around the UK, your next Fred. Olsen cruise is closer than you think.

Coming home to family and friends.
As I approached the entry door you could sense a sincere welcome from the staff, immaculate in there dress code. Nothing is to much trouble for them, a sense of pride in helping others is tangible
The ship was well presented from the outside and interior to a high standard. Easy to navigate around to find something of interest. Lots of things to do during the day and the shows performed by the ships company where spectacular and amazing.
The restaurants provided a variety of dishes to meet all demands and again waiter service helpful and polite. In my view, the cabin space is more than adequate with lots of storage and floor space adding to what's already a memorable cruise. While Fred continues to sail out of Liverpool I will return to my sea family time and time again.

Excellent choice of food.Ship very clean and all crew were very helpful. The two tours that we selected were not as interesting as we thought albeit my wife was not able to go on the one in France(letter sent to Customer Services).
Dorset & Normandy
Bollette & its staff, plus entertainers- first class! Honfleur lovely but Weymouth down beat. Tours were expensive, don't think they were value for money.
Loved the size of Bolette
Loved the size of Bolette. Not one of those monster over run with people ships.
Lots to do on board, shows amazing. All staff so friendly and helpful.food amazing. Free shuttle service at each port and embarking/leaving so easy with helpful staff.

Once we arrived at the port of Liverpool the whole process went smoothly. We were soon booked on and I had sorted my evening meal as I have dietary problems. We soon found our cabins and from then on had a most enjoyable short break. The atmosphere on board was really comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The choice and quality of food and drink was first class and the atmosphere in the dining room and buffet made meal times a pleasure.
The weather was good ,excursions we had chosen enjoyed although arriving at midday to the village in France made finding just a drink difficult as all the cafes were serving lunch by then.
The evening entertainment on board was diverse and enjoyable and again the waiting staff were cheerful, helpful and unobtrusive.
The arrangements for disembarkation went well for us, so altogether a very good experience.
RIP off WiFi
Plumbing problems throughout trip not attended to. Passengers should avoid purchasing WiFi package which costs £9 per day and is a complete waste of money. Why a company can charge for a service which doesn’t function is beyond understanding. Once somebody complains at Customer Services they are told the WiFi doesn’t work because of travelling through fjords so why sell it to unsuspecting passengers. Absolute rip off. Staff wonderful throughout the ship, but the cabins are certainly tired and worn.

The crew were fantastic, nothing too much trouble at all. The ports of call exciting. The food as ever was wonderful and the glass of wine at lunch and dinner were fabulous. Thank you x
Fantastic food and staff
Fantastic food and staff. Boat was lovely and clean and activities enjoyable. We are disappointed that we will be unable to cruise from liverpool next year as it will be rotating to the adult only ship.
