The fish itself was very good with nice variety but the delivery is poor. I have had three deliveries. One was left in a communal stair although I was in, one left on the pavement outside my flat despite again being in and the final one was delivered a day late with the fish not chilled and sitting in melted ice packs. Apparently the order had been sent to the wrong depot hence the delay. I put my order in the bin because of food hygiene concerns. I did request a refund but was told that the package being a day late shouldn’t have been a problem. I have cancelled my subscription

Fishbox is a great idea and the surprise of what is going to come each time!
The Scottish fish couldn't be fresher and is well packed with all packaging recyclable. All portioned and labelled and ready to pop in the freezer. The choice is amazing, this month I received fresh mussels (and a care/recipe card) superb!!
A big plus is that I am eating a lot more healthy fish these days and I don't have to go out and buy any as Fishbox is delivered to my door!

We've had successful deliveries before, but this time the courier misrouted our fishbox and it arrive late and warm. The mussels were dead and the fish warm. Requested refund, was told to discard the mussels and eat the fish. Didn't respond to further requests.

I am a new customer having had 7 boxes now. I am so glad I signed up. The fish is delicious and I have changed some of my preferences after a few weeks which was so easy. I couldn't be happier with the service, highly recommended

I’ve been having my fish delivered from Fishbox for quite a number of years now. The fish is very nearly always extremely good. If it isn’t it’s not usually the fault of Fishbox but I let them know and they resolve the issue without any fuss. I would give them 5 star rating. They look after their customers very well

The pack we received was very poor value for £50. I know fish can be expensive for quality but this was not worth the effort. Having made selections of preferences we hoped we would get something reasonable. We tried to enquire what was in the pack but was informed it depended on the availability. As we wanted to try fresh fish we did not put kippers on the preferences but a high percentage of our box was kippers and not even decent size. We received a pack of 4 small kippers (0.352kg) and 6 tiny kippers (0.326kg). I expected cod being winter and it was on our preferences, but all we got was 2 tiny pieces vac packed (0.119kg) 3"x1".75 and a piece (0.304kg) 5"x3".5). I presume it was cod it was not big enough to check skin marking. We got a vacuum pack of what was labelled fish pie mix that looks to me like rubbish off cuts of fish of unknown origin (0.505kg). The only other things in the pack was 2 vac packs of what was labelled Scottish Sea Trout - pack 1 (0.302kg) 2 pieces about 5"x 2" pack 2 (0.268kg) small tail pieces. A surprise section for a winter pack as not on our preferences. Non of our preferences (other than cod) were included and that was the complete pack. I would not have paid anything for that selection and could have bought kippers at the supermarket for a fraction of the price. The delivery was also poor just left on the step without even knocking. We spotted the driver who said he was not obliged to knock. A complete waste of time and money. Fish pie mix is a joke to pass as quality fresh fish.

So many good things to say about Fishbox. Excellent customer service, marvellous fish, reliable deliveries. With Fishbox we choose fish we love plus get to try fish new to us. We love our fish selections and look forward to the deliveries of perfectly packed fish. I highly recommend.

Each box has been top quality since my first order last August. Its fantastic delivery service. I absolutely love getting my delivery every fortnight. Fantastic British produce. We all should be supporting our fishermen.

We have been getting Fishbox for several years and are convinced it is great fish and what a great treat to have it arrive every week…. Dinner? Voila! But yesterday it was best yet…..
Delicious fresh oysters in time for. Pre- heist as supper party. They were excellent! As good as they get!

I feel I must write another review about the truly excellent service from Fishbox.
I wanted some smoked salmon and another couple of bits for Christmas day.
I contacted them and they've got straight back to me concerning my query.
The quality of the fish is second to none and we really should be supporting small businesses as much as possible, we should be supporting farmers. Cutting out supermarkets and buying from our brave fishermen in my opinion is the best thing we can do. I'd rather eat a little less but have top quality any day rather than keep getting ripped off by these corporation quangos.

We have waited until we had tried a few fish boxes before reviewing. I have to say that the quality is superb, I have never had smoked haddock like that before, it was fabulous. I think it's a little more expensive than buying from a supermarket but the freshness, flavour and quality is worth the extra few quid. It comes so beautifully packaged and you also have the excitement factor of seeing what you have received! I would recommend...it's a really good company to purchase from.

I know this is meant to be advertised as fresh fish etc etc and their delivery times are good...but £35 for a box that doesn't even contain 2kg of fish? My God...what a con. We cook fish weekly from the supermarket and were hoping to hse this to encourage us to eat less meat, but even freshly caught fish is not enough to justify paying £23 per kg!

I've had two of my scheduled deliveries so far. The fish has been really good quality. I especially loved the smoked haddock and rock turbot. I contacted customer services with a query and the response was quick and really friendly. I'm looking forward to the box.

Real fishmongers who get products directly from the coastal markets and boats are increasingly rare, with supermarket fish, even from Morrisons who are vertically integrated, often lacking freshness. Fishbox is the solution. We get high-end restaurant quality fish and a great experience.
My primary school aged children genuinely get excited about every delivery, embracing the variety and real family meal time we get and I get the added pressure to do it justice 😂.

Yes, it's not "cheap" but compare it to meals out and you'll see the value. A good fish dish is never less than £15 for a main and often pretty average at that level. Plus, you can add good value, seasonal extras with every box.

Staff are responsive and helpful. Good product range and generally good quality products. Would be great if the delivery personnel could follow the instructions. The boxes are instructed to be delivered to my apartment door (both the handwritten instructions on the boxes which started after I reflected delivery issues to Fishbox and the instructions in delivery company's system filled by myself), but the boxes have not been delivered to my door multiple times. This has a significant impact on my Fishbox experience and may potentially have health issues as the boxes may not be accessible to me after 24 hrs if the delivery person leaves them at the concierge (which the instructions specifically mention not to do so).

I've already praised Fishbox quality in a previous review. Today I want to give kudos to Naomi. Yesterday, I received an email from DPD that my delivery was delayed due to "an unexpected issue". Obviously I felt concerned given the perishable nature of fish. Later same day I received an email from Naomi saying she had noticed the delay and was chasing DPD. She also informed me that the contents would stay safe for 48 hours and that the fish had been filleted, packed and dispatched only the day before, so all would be well if the delivery came today.
I did indeed get the fish today - eight packs of lovely fish, including some very large portions and fabulous forkbeard which I've never seen sold elsewhere.
I am very impressed with my Fishbox experience over the last few years and this week's events confirmed that even more.

The fish is always spanking fresh, and a great variety of shellfish, white fish, smoked fish and trout and salmon. Delivery has always been spot on. Very happy with the fish box service in every way.
